Hey
Okay, some of you may have recognized me already but now I have time to introduce myself a little bit.
First of all, I want to apologize that my english isn't that perfect but I'll do my best to keep it as correct as possible (german is my first language ^^).
About me...My real name is Eva, I live in Austria (attention - not Australia We're often mixed up haha) and I'm 17 years old.
Currently I'm a student in the 7th grade, one year before my graduation so it's pretty stressful right now (esp. before christmas -_- one examn follows the next).
I nevertheless will try to be around as often as possible and maybe contribute some (hopefully ) meaningful posts
Okay...well, I'm J-Pop fan since 3 years now, I know and like Ai since like 1 to 1 1/2 years now, so not so long My biggest J-Pop passion is Ayumi Hamasaki, who you all probably know Mika Nakashima also counts to my top favs. Ai's on place...4 or 5 I guess but this always changes. She rose alot with her current single Planetarium which I find VERY VERY good (love drop. !!).
I'm looking forward to her upcoming album, I'm sure it will be awsome since she grew alot in her music and is way more mature now (i like that on her, really!).
Well, I don't want to bother you with myself ^^ If you have any questions, feel free to ask anytime!
Btw. I love it here so far, people seem to be extremly nice |

Awesome, it's the infamous eVe who posted news as her first post! Welcome to Channel-Ai.
Where in Austria do you live? I was in Austria for a little while last summer and it's such a beautfiul country. I've really been thinking about it a lot lately too, I miss it. TT.TT I really enjoyed Salzburg, the street performers there were so amusing! Vienna was pretty interesting, but not nearly as much as the smaller towns. The history there is so deep and rich. We stayed in Maria Alm for a few days too pretty high up in the mountains, have you heard of it? Man, Austria is so beautiful. The mountains...waterfalls...everything! I want to go back!
Anyway, how interesting, are grades set up differently in Austria? Here in America, someone who's 17 years old would be in 11th or 12th grade, not 7th. 7th graders are 12 or 13.
I'm really getting into Ayumi Hamasaki too, although I'm still a newbie fan. I just started liking her this summer. I like Mika too, when I'm in the mood for music with a serious, mature side.
See you around!  |

Hello eVe! Welcome to Channel-Ai! The Best Ootsuka Ai Community on the net! So far all of your posts have been really good for a newbie member! Keep it up! Don't worry about your English skills, there are many other members here who speak it only as their second (or third!) language as well.
PLANETARIUM is doing so well on the charts. I can't believe it's still at a pretty good position even thought it was released in September! I think she's done better than Utada Hikaru as well. You enjoy Hamasaki Ayumi and Nakashima Mika? Cool 'cause I consider them two of my fav. female singers! You can check out their official threads in the Asian Music forum to discuss their music with other fans and also share some new news (or discuss rumors) too!
I hope you have a fun time here in Channel-Ai and welcome! |

Hi there eVe, welcome to Channel-Ai! Nice introduction you have there, that's what people should write when they post a new introduction topic.
You don't need to apologize for anything, your English is great, maybe better than me lol. English isn't my first language either, so don't worry too much about it.
Nice to see people coming from all around the world, I really should show you guys the geo map overlay provided by Google Analaytics, it shows you where your visitor comes from on the world map! Most Channel-Ai visitors come from North America and Europe, follow by Asia, Australia and South America. Nobody comes from Africa!
I visited your website about ayu and I really like the layout, it looks clean and elegant, my favourite type of design. Too bad I don't understand German, but the gallery section there looks extensive, keep up the great work!
Ai is probably on my top list of favourite artist right now. I just like how different she is compare to the other artist out there, and I really admire her talent and cuteness. Having a forum dedicated to her, how can I place anyone else above her in my artist list? Ayu used to be my top top artist, not to say she has dissapointed me but it's probably due to the fact that she's been on top for a long long time and I can't anticipate a breakthrough for her, which lessen my anticipation and imagination. |

AWW! All these nice messages Thanks thanks thanks!
@spellcheck
I live in Linz ^^" It is the capital of Upper Austria which is directly over Salzburg. But there is not much to see up here
I was in Salzburg once and really enjoyed it.Vienna is still my 2nd fav city from those who I've seen _-_ (1st is Tokyo). You are right, the smaller towns are much more interresting and belive it or not, mostly you can even watch and visit more than in the bigger ones. Till I was 12, I lived in such a small town called Haslach and it was really famous for alot of things. Though it was just small and had about 2000 inhabitants, it still was special. I find it for example much more insterresting than Linz.
But I'm glad you liked it here in Austria If you ever come again, I'll give you a tour
Ah and btw I know Maria Alm but only from the name
With the grades...well, it's a little different ^^ We count all the schools differently. Like in primary school, you say 1st to 4th grade. Same in the one you attend afterwards. If you go to a grammar school, you can visit it up to 8 grades, so you start counting again in the 1st of GS and end at the 8th though you're in the 12th xD
If, after 4 years of GS or secondary school, you switch to a school that only has sixth forms, you start counting AGAIN . There you either count to 4 or 5, depending on how long the school is (4 or 5 years but only if you switch to a sixth forms school because a grammer school regularly has 8 years, beginning with the first year after primary school and ending with the graduation.
I hope I could explain it without confusing you. If you have any further questions just as ^^"
@broken::dreams
Yay, great to see people with the same taste in music here too
I will check out the threads for sure (I even posted in the Ayu one ).
@eyn
Oh really? I would have never thought that english wasn't your first language...Since you're from Canada, you're first one may be...french? ^^ Just a guessing.
I'd be really interrested in the map o_o It seems so multicultural here - like that
Thank you for you compliment on my page I like the design too because it's so simple ... but believe it or not, I really had a hard work getting it as it is now because first I wanted to do a more artistic one but I ended up with this I really love my site (o hope this doesn't come off selfish), maybe beacause I love Ayu that much
Well o___o Long post _-_
And btw. feel free to ask questions |

Here's the Geomap I'm talking about earlier, it's generated by Google Analytics. Since you have a site yourself, I think you should install the visitor tracking service provided by Google too.
Notice on the map there's one huge dot at Malaysia and Singapore lol. Few visitors here are from Australia, one of the 2 dots is Melbourne. These data are generated over 1 day only, so you can expect more dots if it's over a week or month.
It's perfectly fine to love your own site, I love Channel-Ai too, that's exactly what you need in order to make your site better, i.e. enthusiasm and passion. Not so much for maintaining the forum, since I won't be making a completely new layout (not at the moment), but at least I ensure the quality is there.
My first language is Chinese, I come from Malaysia, so I know some Malay too. Currently studying in Canada, not yet a landed immigrant, but hope I can be one someday. |

Gah I like this thread, full of nice big posts ^_^
Eva, welcome to Channel-Ai. I spotted you already earlier, heh, saw your photo as well
Im Spyro, dominating the dot in Greece at eyns map above^ (well that dot a little seperated from the other eurepeans one) anyhoo
School system grade count is like there, starting to counting from teh start for each school stop to a different level. We have 1 to 6 years at primary school, then again starting counting from 1 for the 3 grades of middle/ jr high school, then 1 to 3 for college/sr high school next. But since in UK and USA they count in whole by years in UK and grades in USA I tend on using the term year 12 or grade 12 respectively. Btw we're at the same age, one year left for me till graduation, yey!
I like Ayu like you and brokey do (and most of this forum XD) she was the first totally different singer I heard back then, last summer, introducing me to the awesome Japanese music industry. She has a special position to me just for that. However Im afraid shes not in the actual top for me anymore, Ai took over so quickly. As eyn said she hasnt dissapointed me but she was my #1, and actually the only singer that I was constantly listening to, for a long time.
Your English are so fine, being in forums and chatting with people is the best practice - the actual use ^^
See you around!  |
