How many of you saw Ai's performance of planetarium at kouhaku?
Well when I saw it the day it was posted online I downloaded it.
And I have to say...AI LOOKED SO SAD....

My friend and I were discussing her performance and she and I both
said we thought she was going to cry during her performance...

So im curious to see if any of you thought she looked sad...
and if she was you know why... >.<

sorry if this is a stupid topic....Confused

comment by eyn: I moved your new topic under this one. There's already a kouhaku topic, no point creating a new one, unless it's going to stir up a lot of discussion, which I doubt this one will.

Can anyone post any pictures of Ai's performance at Kouhaku?

comment by eyn: the Kouhaku topic is the last topic in the news section, i.e. has the latest reply, there's no reason you can't see it, unless you don't bother to browse even just a little around the forum. Not only in this Kouhaku thread, the performance screenshot is also posted in the download section as well.

This post is originally posted under boakan's new topic, which I moved.

Are you asking why she was sad or saying that you know a reason? Because I don't know of any reason for her to have been sad that night. Also the rest of the night she seemed to be in fine spirits from what I've seen of screencaps. (Like the wonderful ones posted above you by horizon180. Thank you for those! Wink )

I really don't think she looked anymore sad than she usually does when she performs Planetarium. Seeing as Ai writes her own lyrics and composes her own music, I have a feeling that the songs that she sings evoke a lot of a feeling in her when she performs. She sings her music from the heart. Planetarium is a sad song, and so therefore it makes Ai sad. Perhaps stirring up the events or the memories that inspired the song.

hmm, i think she seemed sad because: (this is just imo)

she writes all her songs based on past experiences (she said so when she was on bokura no ongaku) and planetarium IS quite a sad song Sad so being the great performer she is, i guess she adds that "va va voom" into her performance by digging into the emotions that went into writing the song.

if u think she looked sad here, u shud see her performance of cherish on music station on 2005.12.09 ... i swear i was literally inches away from my screen hoping she doesn't start crying... Crying that performance is now my all time fav otsuka ai tv performance...Nod

but yea, i know wat u mean... there were some other great and emotional performances on kouhaku this year, i really liked hitoto yo's hanamizuki ...

^_^

I saw that performance. I love her dress and the stars. :Oh noesD She's a good live performer.
About looking sad, it's pretty custom for artists to look sad when performing a ballad because it goes with the mood.
