For some reason I have a feeling someones going to get mad at me for making this thread. But I thought that since LOVE COOK is out now, we should get to work translating the songs for all the fans that can not understand them. And I will be willing to help out as well! The hard part is no official lyrics to look at! But that should be out in a few days. I haven't closely listened to all of the songs yet to see if I understand anything. But I have understood the bridge in LOVE MUSiC, it's pretty simple.
These lyrics may not be 100% correct, but please bare with me, I'm not a native speaker.
LOVE MUSiC (Lyric Fragment)
...Anata no oto ni naru
Let you're sound ring
Oto ni naratte todo ketari
Deliver chiming sound
Anata no koe ni naru
Let you're voice ring
Koe ni naratte kono uta (dodokeru)
Let this song ring from your voice . . .
Sorry for this post being so breif. For others that know any Nihongo, please help me out here if you've understand anything. Once I take a closer listen to the whole album I might have more rough translations for you!
Once the official lyrics are out, perhaps we can works out something like I translate some songs, and other translates other.
Let me know what you think! |

Just a heads up for you guys who actually know Japanese and want to start translating!
Cherryblossom Garden already has all of the lyrics up, just not translated yet. (I'm not sure that they've ever translated any of Ai's songs into English.) I don't know if this will help or not. I wish I could help with the translation, but I think knowing Japanese is probably a good idea before you go and try to translate a song. |

I translated Ramen 3 Pun Cooking!!! This is SOME CRAZY SONG. I don't believe I translated some words, because they just plain didn't make sense. XD (help would be appreciated -_-) Please take note that the whole quotation mark thing is because it's a phone conversation between 2 people (maybe a secret person is hiding in the background, I'm not quite sure, but the random manly voices are very suspicious, eh?)
Also, don't be alarmed by any ASTERISKS (* things) in the song, they correspond to little footnotes I put at the end of this post. ^^ Well, here goes:
---
"Hello*, what are you doing right now?"
"I'm at the time where I put in the hot water and wait 3 minutes for the Cup Noodles to cook! ** What I should do during these 3 minutes is the key point!"
"Key point?!"
Miso *** (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen ****
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
"Hello, what did you put for the toppings?"
"Bamboo shoots, scallions, and eggs all boiled down, bean sprouts, corn, tone, turn, roasted seaweed, juicy roasted pork!"
"For this marking, where to fill it up with boiling water is the key point!" *****
"Key point?!"
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
"Hello, what kind of noodles did you use?"
"Fat noodles, thin noodles, medium sized noodles, wavier than straight noodles"
"After adding the boiling water, the minutes ****** and seconds to wait until you can open the lid is the key point!"
"Key point?!"
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
Miso (miso!)
Soy sauce (soy sauce!)
Pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork pork salt ramen
It's done.

*: The term used is "moshi moshi" which is a greeting said at the very beginning of a phone conversation, which is said bye the person that picks up the phone (NOT the dialer). I didn't exactly feel like putting this whole thing in the translation, so I said "Hello," which also works, so yeah.
**: Yeah, when making cup noodles, it takes a certain amount of time for them to cook with the lid on and with the boiling water in. The variety of cup noodles Ai ate (the brand is currently unknown) needs to wait 3 minutes to cook. Therefore, the song is called Ramen 3 Minute Cooking. The song is also exactly 3 minutes long, and these 3 minutes is the amount of time Ai waits to eat her ramen.
***: 2 different words called "miso" are used in this song. The first one used is the definition meaning "a main or key point." The second is the food miso, which is a delicious bean paste.
****: Ok, so we now know what style of cup noodle ramen Ai will be indulging in. It is tonkotsu shio ramen. To learn more about it (and a recipe!) go to here. NOTE: I am not responsible for any excessive drooling caused by looking at the highly appetizing ramen. (although you might already be drooling by pics of Ai, )
*****: Yeah, cup noodles have a thin marked line/score thing around the bowl so you know where to fill the boiling water up to.
******: Lemme say a quick part about the romaji of this song title. Some say it is 3 fun, some people say it's 3 pun, some people say it is 3 bun. YOU'RE ALL WRONG. Just kidding. I, being half Japanese, believe the correct answer is 3 pun. When a word goes infront of fun, it turns into pun. I think. I don't know, I've been talking Japanese all of my life and I have never ever heard "3 fun" versus "3 pun", not to mention "3 bun" being a totally different definition. (bun = part) So, alas, the song should be romanized with pun.
Well, that was definitely my favorite song to translate. It's so fun! And wacky! And yummy!! Gah, I am sooo hungry right now. o_p Well, enjoy!! |

I could try to help.
I'm studying Japanese - and don't know THAT much as of now, but i 'm getting there.
I also use a few tools that help me learn and help me translate so, my translations might be correct, but it's not guaranteed.
Corrections and additions with be accepted
Edit: I'll try Hane Ari Tamago first

I unno someone tell me if what i did so far is even close to being correct, lmao.
As you can see, my interpretations (LOL yeah right) are probably kinda off, and the question marks means i'm not sure, but tried to get as close to the meaning as i could. The english below each line is probably not correct, but gives an idea, and i modified it so english speakers can read it and kinda understand what it's about, not the direct translation. I also probably left out a few kana/kanji because i didn't know the meaing So, everyone else's is probably more accurate than mine is. |

it's not bad although I think for some of the words you might have the wrong definition.
The translation of the title will help you immensely. The whole song is metaphorically about being a newborn bird/egg.
Haneari Tamago
"Winged Egg"
or my preference
"Egg with Wings"
first line: past tense. otherwise it would be totally correct.
I longed for a bright light
2nd line: sono hi -> "that day". karani hibiga haitta-> "a crack came into the shell"
that day the shell cracked
3: omoikitte nozoi te hajimete mita takai sora
like a lot of songs/speech, the sentence structure is out of order.
"hajimete mita" is referring to "takai sora"
"saw for the first time" --> "tall skies"
the beginning just describes that further
With a lot of courage I looked out, and saw the tall skies for the first time
After I get back from vacation, I'll try and explain the rest of my translation. |

I like this topic. I might try and translate something this weekend... providing I can get time. Does anyone have a particular preference as to the song that they would like translated? |
