My top 10 Japanese Ska/Rock bands:
10. THE PINK☆PANDA
09. Shaka Labbits
08. Yum!Yum!ORANGE
07. SKULL CANDY
06. GOLLBETTY
05. Base Ball Bear
04. GO!GO!7188
03. Oreskaband
02. Northern19
01. Metro Ongen
I love them. I've only ever heard the CD of "Flyer 8", but I loved every song on it more than I have loved any other songs lately. |

Erm... hehehe... here's some Japanese metal bands that you've probably never heard of...
[OK, you probably all know X-Japan... their first 2 albums are GOLD]
Loudness
Dementia
Sacrifice
Sabbat
Sigh -without doubt my favourite entity to have ever emerged from Japan.
Also partial to the 5.6.7.8's and Melt Banana. Recently discovered Polysics too.
Question: have any other Japanese acts managed to capture the youthful joy that is inherent in Sakuranbo? I've listened to a couple of J-Ska bands and am yet to hear anything that bouncy and cheerful. |

I know Melt Banana and Polysics. Polysics are pretty great, but Melt Banana is too crazy for me...
My newest love is SuG, dunno why. I like them a lot now.
eta: Fuji Fabric. I missed out a lot on not listening to them sooner, they're amazing too |

I'm not much into J-rock.
I like a bit of Malice Mizer.
Akira Yamaoka's music is AMAZING.
But I TRULLY, FULLY LOVE and ADORE Nanase Aikawa!!! |
