Hm.... LOVE JAM was released on 16/11 in Japan, had it been released two weeks later, it's total sales of ~625,000 would have given it a #13-14 placing on Best Selling albums.

But it's great she is on all the lists anyway!!! I think someone posted Top 100 singles of 2005 and it somehow differs to the list given above... For example, I remember SMILY/Biidama was #25 and Fairyland did better than Heaven on the chart posted a few weeks ago.

Koda Kumi is up on the rise, beating out Ayu... but if she wants to maintain that popularity, I seriosuly think she should be selective of her singles, none of them made it in the top 30!!

Does anyone foresee a slow decline for Orange Range? Their latest album's sales was abysmal compared to musiQ...

I hope Otsuka's compilation in the coming years breaks the 1 million mark!

I really don't see how Orange Range sells so well. They aren't bad, but they aren't THAT good either. Good for Ai to do well either way though.

^Likewise, personally, I really dislike their style... the vocals annoy me as a matter of fact... Alot of their material is 'Hit or Miss', but the only Hit in my opinion is Hana and maybe Asterisk.

I think one of the main reasons they sell so well is because they are a style that is very new to Japan.... I don't see them selling as well in two years time... They will diminish Wink

Hey not bad, Ai chin is top 30 Smile. Its cool that she is 12th on best artist that is like big because she is only two spaces to the top 10 Tongue! I am surprised that Orange Range's Asterisk wasn't higher, I thought that was the only best song they sung.

thnx a_r3n for the headsup!!

ive been following the japanese music charts for a while now and i must say im not surprised by the rankings... not that much. except maybe koda kumi being above ayu in the top artist rankings... i don't think anyone saw that coming...

i kind of disagree with those who say orange range will be declining sometime soon. i think they're doing better than ever. if anyone, its ayu who's on the decline i think. but im sure she'll pull back in the new year. *w00t*w00t* DaI made it to the top 30 ^^; why did they have to disband No ... and oh wat a surprise, johnnys make it to the top of the singles chart... i liked nobuta wo produce, but i cant see what's so great about 'seishun amigo' Confused

too bad hikki isn't doing all that well this year. i was shocked that 'passion' didn't even cross the 50000 mark... Crying

but getting to the point :: yey for ai!!

sidenote: i just got love cook in the post today, im glad i decided to buy the photobook... kawaiii!!!

^Ayu is on a decline, sure, but I still stand by that Orange Range are on a decline. Their singles sales and album sales for their latest album don't compare to their previous album.... They didn't have a major hit like 'Hana' this year, they still sold lots, but they didn't compare to Hana...

And Passion failing to hit the 50k mark.... that's gotta hurt.... Surprised

That's great for Ai! But hoe come Planetarium isn't on there...I thought that it would...since it's still on the TOP 20 singles in Oricon daily chart. And #12 for best selling artist is pretty good! I can't really believe that BoA was higher than Ai though...I haven't heard much of BoA this year except for her new single (or I must have missed a lot of things) Ah anyways, Congrats to Ai!! PLANETARIUM really does deserve to be on that list! However, the sales for that single are estimated to be ~200k.... I think its in the 40-50 range... in terms of best selling singles. All her singles made it in the top 100, so that's something to cheer about!
