Hehe, I was just about to post this once I found out!
PLANETARIUM was one of the top 10 songs of the year.
The full winners lists can be viewed here.
http://www.tbs.co.jp/program/nihonrecordtaisyo_20051231.html
I'm quite surprised at the list... Ami Suzuki getting a top 10 song award, while the highly-acclaimed-but-disliked-by-me Glamorous Sky and Endless Story didn't get it... And also, Ayu is nowhere to be found. =X
By the way, the PLANETARIUM performance is available for download at jpopsuki. |

I'm pleased to see that Ami and Ai won an award. Honestly I'm tired of NANA material over and over again. It's getting old. I think Ami and Ai deserve the award more especially since they worked so hard. But it's a pity Ayu won nothing |

| ^Interesting.... I know that in Hong Kong, there is an unsaid rule for all music awards shows which states, 'No show, no award.' And for the most important award show, that has so far been true..... Is that what it's like with Japanese music award shows? |

Hm... I am inclined to disagree that the award is given out on sales alone. Because PLANETARIUM only made it to #40-#50 in best selling singles this year.... I think that it is also based on popularity or significance... Keep in mind, PLANETARIUM was an image song for Hana Yori Dango, and Inoue Mao [i THINK that's her name ] recorded a video message to be played upon Otsuka's acceptance of the award. |
