Does anyone know where I can find softsubs of this series?

Or will I have to download the whole thing again with hardsubs? Sad

I mean, my Japanese is good, but not that good...

I might have the subs at home, but I'm at work right now =/ so you'd have to wait for a few hours ^^

Oh, that would be really cool! Nod

But I wouldn't be able to get them until next week...

I won't be online again until Monday. Sad

But thanks. Smile

i've never cried this much in my life.... it's insane. and i thought "Taiyou no Uta" was sad. and it was, but not if you compare it to this... Sad

it's a wonderful series, though. it makes you look at life from a different view and makes you glad that you're alive and well. and Erika-chan is really gorgeous, and a great actor too.
if i want to cry, i'll just remember this series and eventually the tears will come. great trick. Wink

this is officially the saddest series i've ever seen.

watch out tatsuka ito! if you really want to pick up this series, have your tissue box nearby!
one more thing i like about this series is they did take occasional breaks from the super-sadness to provide some scenes of comic relief which were quite refreshing. (episode 8 though had a significant lack of comic relief to break up all the sad scenes which concluded that episode. that one was the single saddest and most memorable episode for me)
and mangomalte! you're the first other person i know to watch taiyou no uta before this series besides me. it is strange that i don't really know how this would change our perspective or how we viewed the series. certainly i was already used to erika being the dying sick girl when i started this series...but everyone else would just be used to her being the dying sick girl for taiyou no uta. also i thought...it is easier to see erika as a different character if you watch this series second because she is younger. if you watch taiyou no uta second you could just think of her as growing up and more mature from this series.

yeah, i was kinda used to her dying too, but i think that watching TnU first might have made that one more sad than it makes IRnN less sad, if you get what i mean. when you start watching TnU she already is sick and she knows about it and have dealt with the sorrow already. if you're already used to her having an uncurable deciese, then that might not be that sad, and you might even be happy that she somehow survived IRnN to play in TnU. Laughing
nah, but very much of of the sadness in IRnN comes from people getting to know that she's sick, and that she loses more and more of the control over her body with each episode. you don't have that at all in TnU. ok, maybe she gets sicker with eveey episode, but it doesn't really make her situation harder in any way, more than that she coughs and that she knows that she's going to die sooner. oh, and that she can't play the guitar (forgot that...).

my road to Ichi Ritoru no Namida:
bleach => YUI => Taiyou no Uta => Ichi Ritoru no Namida

alright if we'll go ahead and compare the two...
taiyou no uta really didn't feel like a depressing sort of drama. it was more of a love and friendship drama than one that makes you cry. sure there were a few sad moments but for me that largely was not the point of the drama as i hardly cried at all during the series.. in a way i would say the drama focused more on the characters than the disease.
ichi rittoru no namida however, focused more on the sad aspect of the disease and how it was affecting her life. i think what i am trying to say is exactly what you're saying. in ichi rittoru aya is constantly getting worse, while in taiyou there wasn't much of that so taiyou was so much less depressing. and so much less emotional.

My Path!
Me being bored => friend from Indonesia recommends Taiyou no Uta => afterward he also recommends Ichi Rittoru.
I don't watch dramas very much and I was a little reluctant at first to devote so much hard drive space to something I may or may not like, in the case of both series...but I am glad I decided to watch both. now just to wait for erika to be lead in a drama without some incurable disease.

three is impressively low. i think i must've cried like...10-15 times at least. i don't cry much either, but this was a pretty nice feeling to be able to revert to my childhood days of just crying my eyes out. i can remember crying during taiyou no uta once but before these two, never can i remember crying during a series. (nor did i imagine i'd be using tissue while watching...made me think i was some old woman alone at night just watching some sad drama crying and blowing her nose...)

i never use tissue when i cry.
actually, i have a weird ability, i dont contort my face or make any sound when crying.
they sort of just leak.
