i just finished the series.
usually, dramas dont hurt, because i think "they re just actors, its not real" but in this case it real did happen to a girl name Aya.
sigh, it felt really bad when aya's dad screamed in the last ep. and you could hear her parents wailing for a few seconds. by then my face was sticky with tears |

I just finished watching the last episode today, actually about an hour ago. It's too hard to put this series on hold. I think I ended up crying or at least tearing up every single episode. I was bawling by episode 10 (mainly over the tegami that Aya wrote).
The one thing I don't get about episode 11 was why Asou-kun didn't give Aya a hug when he read that part of a diary, that just made that scene really awkward and felt incomplete.
But I have to admire Asou-kun's character for being there for Aya as much as he did. I really like how he let Aya help him out for his biology club. I always thought he did that as a way to let her subtle know she was still useful even though the disease has already progressed at the point. But I think I admire him the most when he stood up for her when all her class was bashing her.
Ako too was admirable. I didn't like how she was in the beginning, but after her lecture to Hiro, she just got better and better.
But Aya is very very brave to have faces this as bravely and as with much courage as she did. It was really hard for me to accept that this series is based on a real life story. Don't get me wrong, Erika did a great job of portraying Aya. But I don't know what it was ....
I guess it's hard for me to accept that such a disease exsist, to have so much taken away from you bit by bit. But now that I've seen this, somethings in my own life make sense. I won't go into it because it's too personal but those tests that her neurology doctor made her go through, make sense now.
I would really love to read the book 1 Litre of Tears. The real Aya'a diary. But I've only seen the original Japanese version on Amazon Japan. I have yet to see a translated version of the book. If anyone does know of one, I'd be grateful for any info on it. |

It was about a year ago when i watched this, but after reading through some comments, things and feelings from the dorama popped back into my mind, and I had this sudden urge to watch it once again now.
This is a jdorama that i truely enjoyed, one of my most favourite of all the dramas ive watched. Truely a touching and remarkable series, everyone that I've recommended this dorama to had felt so too. What that really moved me to tears was when Aya wrote「…わたし…結婚できる?」after seeing her teacher get married.
After watching the whole series, it actually made me rethink about my life, and the series definitely made an impact on me. |

| ya 1 litre of tears is indeed better, because it's a true story,we allows our emotions to flow into it.I was crying in every episode.Especially episode 8(1 Litre of tears) and episode 11(Faraway, to the place where tears are exhausted)It was really sad,i really control all the tears at all.Not only my tears keeping flowing,i was also crying more and more worse. It was very touching when aya's father work extra jobs to gain money for buying the wheelchair. And when aya was dead, that was the worse part.15 years old,is the start of everyone fredom, joy and youth, yet it was taken from her.I wonder if there is really any god.If there are really gods, why will they watch without any action done? |
