First off, good job. I heard all of them finally since i got my internet back (and i got an email from the admin...... )

Entry 1
I never heard the piano version so i'm not sure if Ai sings it different, but the vocals were nice although too soft. Good job tho! ^^

Entry 2
You have a sweet voice. She sings this song a bit different and i can see that you got it good. Good job on that. I like the ending note, you did good on that part.

Entry 3
THe first guy! Wow. YOur a little bit off the lyrics, but at least you did it right. That's what counts. Wink

Entry 4
You are on time with the lyrics. GOod job with the last part where you sang into the gutar. THose parts are hard to sing. At a few parts, ending sentences, you have a singing voice of a jrock singer. lol

Entry 5
You sound like Ai a bit as if she was quietly singing. Good job. THe "Zutto" part is alittle off, although good work.

Entry 6
I love this one. You did a great job, good choice with the song. Althoug, I was hoping you would at least attempt to sing the long vocal part at the end. LOL, yes and as a member previously said you do sound a bit like Nana K. I just hoped you would have attempted the long note, just as everyone else did.

Entry 7
Wow, i'm surprised you didn't get at least one vote. You did a great job with the long notes. I could see if any other contestants would have choose this song, they would struggle with those long notes.

Entry 8
You started alittle too fast but good job at putting your vocals on track. YOu have a nice singing voice, although it is off with Ai's version: this can be both good and bad. Great job tho!

Entry 9
GOod job with the japanese prounication. You also have a good singing voice. Same with Entry 2, this song is a challenging song. And great job with the last part, the long note.

Entry 10
THe microphone had a little trouble. >< Good work though, this song is hard with the notes.

Entry 11
Your version is softer, different then Ai's version. Nice tho. So good job.

Entry 12
Your version is different. THe music is really lower, and it distracts a bit from the vocals. Although you have a good voice with the ending sentences in a few. At one part it sounded off a bit.

THis will be a tough decision.
I would like to point out something. I did not find a SINGLE ONE of these funny so i don't even know why you would post "some of these will make you laugh." That just breaks down the person who attempted to try out.

Another thing, just my opinion eyn, threatening members to post a vote will get you know where except for members to leave permently. It takes times for places such as this one to grow, and this forum is good enough with the active members. Personally, i didn't like the email.

I'm sorry, eyn, but I kind of agree. No offense, but I thought you were threatening me because I didn't vote yet. Crying

I am not very good at listening to a voice whether its good or bad in quality. I think all of you did your best in the karaoke competition and you all are already winners because of your courage to take part in the competition. I got to hand it to the boys though(no offence to girls) you guys did great! *clap hands*
Because its hard for a guy to reach the key or pitch of Ai's. So a wonderful job you guys did!
Some girls have real real nice voice!
Here is a well, meaner comments from me which i hope no participents will take it hardly. But some entries should listen to the type of songs that they are singing. Some who are singing a ballad sings it in a method as though they are singing an upbeat songs. Well maybe wrong song choice? But those entries has the voice but like i said, wrong song choice. Nod
But whoevers get my vote will be a kept secret? Giggle
*laughs*

I think a lot of people are getting upset about the e-mail that was sent out. (By the way guys, this has been mentioned before, but it's just a reminder that it was sent to everyone that's registered in the forum, active or not. Nobody was singled out...)

There's nothing wrong with the amount of members that we have. The community is already thriving and the member list grows by the day. The concern was that out of 2752 members (at the time of this posting), only around 25 had voted in the contest. True, there was a post minimum to vote, but I'm going to quote eyn on this one:

eyn wrote:
24 votes are pathetic, I'm expecting at least 40 considering we have 168 members that have more than 30 postings.

There are 87 members on the VIP list and 24 people voted.

I also know that sometime before the mass e-mail was sent out, only 1 out of the top 5 members with the most posts had voted. The reason behind that is up for debate, but I thought I'd just get that out there because it surprised me. What's so hard about listening to 12 songs and picking your favorite? You can do it while you're checking posts on here and replying, I don't see what's the big deal.

Anyway, the point is that with so many members it's pathetic that only a handful are showing their support for the community itself by voting in a contest. It shows that those who didn't vote are here to read and briefly reply to topics with downloads and news, and generally have no concern about the community itself and its events. What's the use holding a contest if none of the members care to pay attention and vote in it?

I think that after a lot of people received the e-mail, they freaked out and spammed their way up to the post minimum in order to vote and "save" the site. It's nice that you want to help the site, but please keep in mind that the rules about spamming aren't lax here, and you're probably going to make things worse by posting up a storm in a large number during a short period of time in order to vote. I have the sneaking suspicion that even though the poll has over 40 votes now, that may not be enough to save us right now. I really don't think a lot of these votes were secured in the proper manner. This isn't good news... Crying

Here's my response for replies that's directed to me. I'm not going to quote each of you but you know who you are and what you've said.

First of all, I don't give a damn if some member decided to leave permanently because of that email, in fact I'm rather pleased to hear that, because those who decided to do so are exactly the people I've directed to in my email. I seriously don't care how many members we have in this forum, it's never been my intention for this website to become hugely popular, what I want is just a community where people actually participate instead of just leech and get whatever they want without contributing. If you've stayed here long enough, you know what I'm talking about.

If you are offended by that email, shame on you, don't blame me, blame yourself. If you are offended, leave this forum by all means, I don't really care and won't beg you to stay here. Nobody ask you to join this forum in the first place.

This is my site, I spent effort keeping it up so give me some respect. I don't think anyone spent more effort than me to keep this site up, so don't talk as if the closure of this website means more to you than to me. If someone is to be sad about this site closing, you know who that person is.

You people take everything for granted for way too long. Wake up from you nice dream and start thinking who make all these thing possible for you. It's really nice to read some of you to talk as if you know exactly what I've been thinking when I decided to send out that email.

Some of you said I'm overreacting, sorry, I just acted boldly for my own belief. I started this website with a belief and have been working hard to head towards that direction. I don't maintain this forum the way other forums have been doing, but of course maybe newbies here probably don't know what I'm talking about. Read the rules and see how things works here, I take this website seriously and I hope people take my annoucement seriously.

I'm truely dissapointed with some of the comment in this thread, and I'm sick of writing these "defence" myself. Nobody say anything regarding those "insults" directed towards me, but rather more people seems to support them, this is truely pathetic.

I have to say I have no motivation to keep this site running anymore, seeing those immature people talking as if they know what's going on.

You know he has a point. First he spends ages doing something and working so hard on something and when you try pointing out something which the members and instead it seems here he got a lot of insults.

I couldn't vote here for specific reasons, because of my busy schedule which barely gives me time of a social life but here are my votes anyhow...

Entry 1: Your voice is a bit too soft that sometimes the piano does overpower your voice. Try to sing a lil louder and have more confidence in your voice.

Entry 2: I like your voice - it's not too loud neither too low. I love how you hold the notes and how you seem to be able to control your voice. However I didn't like how your mic seemed to be stopping at certain moments. Otherwise I've really enjoyed this entry.

Entry 3: Breathing at the mic is one of my pet peeves. Also seems that your voice is not fit for these kinds of songs. You're a bit off with the lyrics which isn't really enjoyable to listen. Nonetheless congrats for being so brave.

Entry 4: This one is a little better than the previous entry. You seem to have control over your voice which is good. I really enjoyed how you singed it on low key which made it sound so soothing. I was really pleased to listen to this song.

Entry 5: This entry wasn't bad just a tad little high which made it sound a little weak especially in the chorus part.

Entry 6: Wow very well sung. I loved the control of your voice. This song really flowed.

Entry 7: Wow I've really enjoyed this song. It's an unusal choice for a song but it worked pretty well for you. However I didn't like it that you held those notes too long and some parts sound off.

Entry 8: Your singing is a bit off tune, sometimes feels really strained which made this song's mood less lively and more melanchonic but otherwise you seem to be on time.

Entry 9: Your voice is so soothing. It's really similar to Ai's. I really have nothing else to say about this song other than I've really loved it.

Entry 10: Um.. the notes were really strained here. As one mentioned it sorta doesn't sound like singing. The chorus is a bit better though.

Entry 11: Your voice is kinda too high imo. However I've enjoyed the control in your voice. Nice.

Entry 12: I don't like how the music is so low It gives the impression that you're singing alone. Your vocals sounded kinda off too and pretty strained and dull.

maybe i have a little bit late, but at least i vote at the last minute...

entry 1:You make me feel that you are singing this song after you cry,or...you are forced to sing this song, you cant sing it well because of your pronountiation, but it's not your fault, maybe you are not Japanese right? And the part (0.47 - 0.54),(1.52 - 2.00), this 2 parts is fast, and you can't really follow it.
Actually your sound is nice, but if you sing ballad it will better,Sakuranbo is not suit you, maybe you can try Kingyo Hanabi,Shabondama next time.

entry 2:Your sound is nice, just like a professional singer, and your pronounciation is good also.I am really like it,hope you will be the winner.
Anything is good but your sound is louder than the music.

entry 3:Sorry to this contester but i just want to say you are really BAD,and i can't even accept it.I don't know whatever you are no talent in singing or you think you are another William Hung in America-Idol,
But i am still respect your courage.

entry 4:Another male contester, first of all,you are better than the 3rd entry.Your sound is OK but many parts you just stress you sound, maybe it is your style, but your style is causing this song become bad.
Try to change your style maybe it will better.

entry 5:CUTE sound, you have the most cute sound between 12 contester. But why you sing a slow song?Afraid that can't follow the tempo of fast song? I like your sound at 3.02 - 3.04 part very very much, the most cute part,
If you sing Sakuranbo,i am sure i will vote for you.

entry 6:Just like 2nd entry, you hava a nice sound and you are better than her.Your sound is perceptive.I have a question:You are a part time singer?Haha. And this song is very well in mixing part, what a professional job.
I think i will vote for you.I am just think, haha i am not yet confirm.

entry 7:Your song bored me,there is no climax for me,your sound without power, like just wake up from sleeping.
Your sound is not bad at all,but maybe Hoshikuzu is not the best song for you to show your nice sound out.

entry 8:I know this is your personal singing style. You like to stress your sound,WHY?Why don't you just SING it,relax, use your real sound to sing the song,i am sure it will better than this.
Same with entry 4,try to change your style maybe it will better.

entry 9:Your pronounciation is good, and also have a nice sound. You performed this song well,i will vote for your Planetarium if compare with the 2nd entry Planetarium...
Anyway you make a great job, hope you can become the winner.

entry 10:The last male contester,FINALLY~~~ >.< I feel weird,is really all male can't performed Ai's song well?Or the problem is on our male contester?
Anyway,i am proud with you 3(male),as a male,i don't even take part in this contest and you guys all really IICHIBAN!!!

entry 11: A perceptive sound,i feel that your sound is a little bit same with Mika Nakashima, you performed this song nice, have different feel when listening to your version and Ai's version, just like Mika singing Kuroge Wagyuu Joushio Tanyaki 680 Yen.

entry 12:I can't hear your music...and your sound also not very loud,i can't really hear your song properly,it is hard to give my opinion,if i say that your are bad,it is unfair to you, right?

Wow, what a cool idea for a contest! And I was really suprised at how much talent you guys have! A lot of these just blew me away...I'm really dissapointed I missed this. Great job everyone! I know how much courage it takes to sing for others, and I was really happy to hear some male entries too! I think my favorite was 11. That girl has some major talent. Love
