Anyone out there know is there any kind of software, to play songs reversely?

Because i have a track titled "Dinner at Deviant's Place" by the band Cradle of filth. According to Wikipedia, it says that the track is actually a reverse of song "The Lord's Prayer".

I know it's kinda weird to ask this. And i know not much of people do know where can i find this kind of player. But hope anyone who knows, please inform me where to get the software alright...?

Thank you.

I'm not sure what you mean by playing the song backwards, but if you want to alter the sound wave to read from the end to the beginning, I can tell you usually it sound like crap and you can't recognize any resemblance to even the original song.

To do that, first change your mp3 into wav using CDex or other mp3 ripper. Then, open your wav file using Sound Recorder in Windows, go to Effect > Reverse.

I would like to know if you can actually get anything out of the reversed sound wave. Tongue

Thanks eyn. I think you're giving the exact information that i want. I did not know that Sound Recorder can do such an effect. I'm not going to try it for Ai's songs. As i know it would be bad. But there are certain songs that i'm going to try, which have hidden rhythms... And maybe i shall try for Momo no Hanabira, thanks owikawa. Nod

thanks guys. I'm now using the CDex to convert mp3 into wav, so that it can be reversed by the sound recorder. That's all. But the recorder does not reverse the track perfectly though...

Adobe audition? Adobe got so many fancy softwares! Alright i'll try to get that so that i can add more effects for the tracks. Thank you..

OK, thought I would restore this thread rather than create a new one (as Audacity can reverse tracks too Giggle ) - Hope no one objects Tongue

Anyway, this is a quick guide on how to record off the internet, etc using Audacity

Firstly, locate the drop-down box and change it so that it reads: (Stereo Mix) (this is item (7) from the screenshot below)

(right-click "view image" for full resolution image)

Then just click the (2) button, which will begin a stereo (duel-channel) recording of whatever audio is being outputted by your PC (whether a youtube video, or whatever). You can pause (3), and then continue recording in that same row by resuming recording by pressing (2) again. Or you can stop that layer of recording by clicking stop (4) and then clicking record again will begin recording on the row below the last.

(5) adjusts output volume, whereas (6) adjusts input volume (the higher up the scale, the louder the recording will be - Lower is better, as it retains original volume, and doesn't distort/saturate)

Once the recoding is complete, just click File>Export As.... Here you can choose between several different formats. WAV is like uncompressed, so probably wont want that, so MP3 is probably the best bet - However I think you have to download an external codec, so head over to lame.sourceforge.net and download this. Just extract the zip, and paste the contents into (for example) the Audacity prog. files folder (default: C :\Program Files\Audacity). Then, open Audacity and access Edit>Preferences. Click the "File Formats" tab, and in the "MP3 Export Setup" click "Find Library" and locate the LAME codec you just downloaded (extracted version - Only the *dll file is needed I think). Also change bitrate to whatever you want, but I think the average youtube video is probably 128kbps or something. Now just click OK and you're set for exporting Smile

I hope that's OK - I can't think of anything else you'll need right now, but just ask if something's bugging you Nod

If wanting to edit tracks, then I could do another guide if that would help - Just ask Smile

^ Hey, thanks a bunch for that explanation!
So it records anything that your computer is playing? So is that the software you would use to record a microphone attached to your computer?

It would be cool if you'd tell how to edit tracks. Smile I started playing with it when I first downloaded Audacity, just to see what a few of he effects sounded like. It's pretty cool. Nod
