Nishijima Sho, or rather, Kaneyama Takumi as his friends know him by, enters the underworld under the orders of his boss, Detective Isaki Yoshihiko (Ishibashi Ryo). Although it seems like he’s following plain orders, a personal motive is also hidden within the facet.
As he lives out his life working on both sides of justice, he meets a Korean woman who gradually changes his life. The woman is Choi Yoon-a (Choi Ji Woo), a woman who comes to Japan in search of her father along with a younger sister, suddenly draws the unwanted attention of a Korean man by the name of Kim Young-jae (Shin Hyun Joon), who, incidentally, is also related to Kazuma as he is here in Japan for a certain business negotiation.
In addition to these characters, the rest of the cast includes Hayami Mokomichi, who plays Kazuma’s favorable son Kazama Ryugo, who is set to inherit the enormous corporation; Yui Ichikawa, who plays Kazuma’s daughter Kazuma Kotomi, who possesses a strong liking towards Sho; last, Hashizume Isao who plays Kzuma’s Secretary Song Gyu-hwan.

my opinion : )
After view the first episode of Rondo, I realized how much Nishijima Sho sacrifices to do what he thinks is right. He plays two roles in the face of justice, one as a loyal, dedicated member towards the leader, but also an undercover agent who continuously reports back to his detective. Not only does he leave behind his family, his friends, he also chooses to leave behind his real life, working solely towards the mission of closing off the mafia.
It must be so exhausting for him; switching his roles back and forth, back and forth, never really knowing his true identity, or even doing something for himself - not just following orders of the leader and the detective. But as tiring as things are, he keeps going, with the hope that one day, the very same group of people who killed his father, will pay their debt.
Ah it's such an inspirational drama; so self-giving! It really inspires me to try to work for a certain cause that touches me very much, not necessarily losing a family member but just having the motivation to really try to make a change in a subject that really matters to me : ]
(i love i love mokomichi 8D harhar)
it's such a great dorama! and the quality of the production of such a drama is superb : ) DAISUKI! haha i'm wondering if anyone has watched it so far. tbs is going to be playing it tonight at 9pm, the 6th episode : ] |

I finished watching this dorama already, I agree it's pretty good but I don't really like the leading actress in this dorama. I would have liked it better if they used a Japanese actress instead of a Korean one. Still, it's kinda interesting how they incorporate Korean culture into this dorama, quite special to me compared to other dorama.
The storyline is quite awesome, with some really nice plot twist and suspense. The ending is quite satisfying I guess for such a complicated storyline. If you like stories about undercover cops and love story between a man and a lady from a different culture, I guess this dorama is for you! |

i have seen three episodes, and i don't have the hardsubbed eps. so i watch it with softsubs, but the ones i've got aren't very good. much of the korean stuff isn't translated and there's many parts where they translate just very little of what they're saying. and practically every sentence begins with a lower case letter, which disturbs me (even though i always write with lower case letters here... ). anyone that got nice softsubs to this one?
and i looked into it because of the intro song by ayaka (I Believe), and i thought it sounded interesting, so here i am.
edit: i guess i can download the hardsubbed eps from silentregrets.com... |
