| Hey what if you had a download page like the gallery page. In japankore they did that but they had a password you needed to get to the pv's. But the only way you could get the password is if you were active on the fourm and pm 'ed one of the mods then they'd decide if that person was worth or active enough to get the password. Plus they changed the password every now and then. That might be kinda cool to do. So it gives the active memebers something special. Go to www.japankore.com and see how they do it. |

I don't think it's a good idea to try to look "exactly" like another site, it's not necessary and it doesn't even worth the effort.
I've never been to the website you talked about (server not found) but I understand the concept you're talking about. I have tried the PM for password method and it doesn't work particularly well, many members are too shy to post, not to say sending a private message.
The Channel-Ai thread in the download forum is an attempt to provide something special to members that actually participate. I don't want to make it too formal, like some forum might implement that you have to be active and have to post at least once every certain period to keep your member status, that's not what I'm going for. (I hate those things )
I just want a simple and warm community, it might be small but if people are nice then it's all worth it. There might be leechers around but as they pose no threat so far we might just let them do what they prefer.
The purpose of being active isn't to get special content, you participate because you want to, because you like the people here, but never just to get some special content, it loses the meaning of posting at the first place. |

Hello! Thank you for all the ai otsuka pv! I just wanted to ask if somebody have the cherish pv subbed... It would be nice if someone would have it subbed
Maybe you're still new, if you want to request for something, you should go to our ai chin request thread. - Jason |

You know......... that just gave me a really interesting thought......
Why don't we gather members for Channel-Ai and make our own subs of Otsuka Ai's PV's and maybe even other things.
I know enlightenedOne and horizon180 are very capable at translating, eyn can time from what I remember, we have lots of people good enough for QCing and editing....... And theres lots of other people who probably have some fansubbing ability I don't know of.... |

That's a good idea HilaryDuffFanboy! It'll kind be like the Blog team.
But the thing is, who will we be distrubing these files to and how? Are we going to only share it within members (then let the members share it with others) more make it public to others by posting the files on other forums? Are we going to make direct links from the server, or will we host torrents on JPOPSUKI or other trackers? |

I'd rather release it to the public since it was my whole intent in the first place. We can advertise Channel-Ai this way. xD
My first instinct would be to release it on JPopSuki and other J-Pop trackers like Tokyo Nights.
We can make direct links from servers, provided we have it. I know Channel-Ai has its own server, but I doubt it'd be used if this went ahead. And then of course, you have your sendspace, megaupload, rapidshare, etc.
Bidama, Cherish and Amaenbo deserve to be subbed...... *coughsodoesthejampunchtourcough* |

hilaryduffboy, i hear you. i've already got a pseudo team together for tokyo friends and half of them were here. the team was initially for kioku fansubs, but there have been problems recently, and i don't think that that project will go through there. they are far too busy with new dramas that involve je members. my co-translator who was supposed to help me, has completely forgotten me, and im stuck doing it all on my own.
so once my exams are over, ie may 25th, maybe we can start with finishing tokyo friends. and then take that team forward to do more ai-related projects like pvs and the jam punch tour dvd. i will gladly translate, i love translating ai, she's too kawaii and her said kawaiiness is so apparent in the way she speaks.
so possibly a "Channel-Ai Fansubs" or a "chai fansubs" label. i know eyn spoke to me once about starting a fansub group from channel-ai (or was it you, i can't remember). just give me another month, and all my translating skills are freely available.
i also want to do the kingyo hanabi short film. so moving.
^_^
(i somehow feel that the topic of this thread has taken a completely new turn ) |

Well, it definitely wasn't me, I only thought of this today.
As a side note, I am actually part of that Tokyo Friends project, but I think I may have been booted off because I haven't been to the forum in months... the project just "stalled" and then I forgot about it, and then year 12 became quite time consuming.
If anything does happen, I can sort of help in anyway possible to a limited extent. If there IS something I can do, I can commit myself 100% after November....... lol thats so far away, but November is the last of my university entrance exams. |

nothing of the sort. no one's been to that forum in months, not even me. i too got busy with uni. the plan was just to translate it all and then pass it over to editors and timers. Aprilis and ccb are on that team too. the ch-ai part of the team is i suppose still intact. i think its just the kioku side of it, that kind of fell apart.
so if eyn is up for it, we could start our own group here and try and get ppl from this community to pitch in. then if that works, ill talk to kioku and officially withdraw the project from there. |

Truthfully speaking, I'd rather it be a 100% Channel-Ai release..... But I'd be happy to settle for otherwise since no one has a lot of free time on their hands.
I hope this project keeps on stalling until November. Or the editing parts are ready by no earlier than November.... Whatever, let's just hope it somehow progresses. >_>
ccb is listed as a timer from memory, but I'd like to point out that he told me he has quit forumming at Channel Ai. So I'm not too sure if he is still interested...... or whether he really qualifies should this project go ahead as a Channel-Ai project. [don't worry, his undying love for Otsuka Ai instilled in all fanboys is still intact. ] |

Actually I'm the one who suggested to horizon180 long long time ago about making our own sub group for Ai-chin materials such as video messages, interviews, concert and live performances. I believe we can easily get enough volunteers to start a project like this, maybe the only problem is finding translators since it's hard for horizon180 if he's the only one translating everything.
For the Tokyo Friends subtitling, it's fine with me if horizon180 think it's better for us to release it under the Channel-Ai label. Once the translation is done we can start working on timing and other jobs can't we? Well, even though HilaryDuffFanboy was hoping the project got stalled till November but I think you should probably think about other team members who have their school start in September too, like me! I can start working a little for the timing during summer since I don't have a job this year and I'll be rather free.
I'm definitely looking forward to form a subtitle team here at Channel-Ai and spread Ai-chin's goodness with the rest of the world. |

Ah that's right. The majority of the people here live in the Northern hemisphere where the school year starts in September... mine start's at the actual start of a calendar year. xP
I know enlightened0ne can translate, and he is quite keen on translating. But I think if he gets into the university course that he desires, he will have pretty much no time at all. xD
In which case, I don't mind how the project progresses if it does progress at all, just that I will only be free after mid November. And I mean FREE. NO MORE HIGH SCHOOL FOREVER!!!
As far as I am aware, the project's status is something like at translation of episode 1... I hope we can get onto the next job asap, meaning episode 1 can go on to editing right after its done while episode 2 is still being translated..... er.. ok whatever, let's just see what happens.
Oh, also, if Kioku fansubs was the fansub group that did 1 Litre of Tears, not to offend anyone, but I would like to say I can really do a more informed and detailed job at QCing. |

So the sub project is a go? That's great! I agree with eyn, we should get more translator before actually begin this project. 2 is a good number, but I think 3 is even better. Same with other sections (like coding, timing). More people would be better, but I think we should keep about 5 people for each section. Else it might get very confusing when assigning work and stir up some unnecessary arguments.
My question is, should we finish the Tokyo Friends project first, or combine the 2 projects together?
edit:
One more thing I forgot to mention. On the wiki's, Ai page seems so blank. There are general information. But there are barely any detail information (lyrics to songs, it's meaing, etc.) up on wiki. It would be nice if periodicly members of channel-ai update the info on wiki (I know eyn and some other members do update it every now and then). Cause I know a lot of people look up artists thru wiki. |

I'm willing to help with any translation; give me 5 weeks and all my exams will be over... After that, I'm free to do as much translation as can be thrown at me ... I'll need something to make the letdown from hard study more gradual |
