She smiles alot! Always laugh..laugh..Everytime I see her on the shows.. on MV she does, too-- some..
Soo this means.. she is a damn happy girl?? hehe.: Her smile is very pretty! |

She can be very hyper happy when she wants to, but there are times you see a more relaxed version, and even emotional side of Otsuka Ai.
Some of her interview footage, she talks in a calm manner and is really carefree. And there are TV performances of her ballads in which you see a serious side of her.... The emotion just flows out of her and transcends to the viewer so beautifully too...... |

Yeah, you can say she is usually a really happy and hyper girl.  But I do agree that she can be pretty serious and calm sometimes, especially during some interviews and ballad PVs. ai-chan has so many emotions, and thats what I like about her. she goes with what she thinks and she is not fake. 
and I especially love it when she goes crazy, its just so cute!  |

Well, it's not possible for a person (who's aware of hir surroundings, who reads the newpaper and watch the news) to be happy 24/7 and 356. A person's emotions are set by the chemical reactions , and everyday is not the same, so the chemical reaction is one's brain is always going to be different. She's not superhuman, so for every person, there's always good days and bad days.

| ..Usually in her fast and hyper songs..she acts happy....and for her ballads..she has to show a more emotional, sad, and serious side...because it gives her songs the right feeling, right..? ...I think she does a pretty good job with it too..... |

yeah i saw that! The one where otsuka ai worked so hard to amke her concerts a success that she collapsed backstage but pretended everything was still okay and acted as her usual fun self on stage? my respect for her rose 10x after watching that XD of course it may be over dramatised for commercial reasons but still  i just love that hard-working hyper image of hers! |

I would guess she's naturally a cheery, extroverted person, but we all have our bad days. But, considering we, the public, don't know her personally... It's no wonder we don't see her at her worst.
However, I like to believe that generally, she is a happy person. |

i totally agree with you
i think she is a very happy and cheerful person, and i think she will try hides her bad mood in her bad days . so we could always see her in her very hyper and happy mood on tv show wile not singing a ballad song |

In the profile page on her official site, she wrote "laugh, life filled with laughter" as her "hobby". Also, if you watched the Kou Jin En video that I posted for the VIP long time ago, she talks about her motto for life, which is "笑ったもん勝ち". I can't really understand it fully but from the kanji it sort of means "laughter makes you a winner" or something like that. Maybe some Japanese pro can help me on this one.
So yeah, I believe she's a very optimistic and happy person, and will try her best to spend most of her time laughing rather than being angry, sad or depressed.  Isn't she a good model for us to learn how to live our life happily?  |

Um..... I remember seeing a video of this..... But my instinct tells me it is the 2004 Gakuensai Tour... where she went from university to university and held concerts for students......
You see, there never was a LOVE JAM tour.... there was Gakuensai in 2004, and JAM PUNCH 2005....
But yes, she collapsed immediately after she went backstage after the end of the concert.... It reminds me of when Ayumi Hamasaki risked ear-deafening to go ahead with a concert..... |
