Well you see... We are all growing up.. and sometimes.. i feel that its happening too fast...
And well.. i was thinkinf about times gone by... not that its alot
but i really became nostalgic.. and smiled at how plain and simple life was back when i was 8 years old!!
There are alot of things that we don't do now.. cuz we are "adults"... but still wanna do them anyway...
so here are a couple of things that i wanna do.. not matter how childish and silly they may be!!
1. Throw water balloons on people walking on the street and then hide myself so that they can't see me and then giggle about it long and hard
2. Play catch or hide and seek with my friends (did that last year actually but wanna do it again.. but we all got really tired after just one turn )
3. Read and fill (maybe not) slambooks... man we used to run around each other to fill slambooks... even now i get a real crack out of reading my and my frnds slambooks
4. Have those stupid birthday parties... silly games... no booz
5. Cycle around the neighbourhood and do what not silly things... ^_^... good times
thats what i can think of as of now.. but yea... wanna do them... though they are childish ^_^
do share... im sure everyone has something like this... atleast i hope i'm not the only one
really... share away ^_^ |

hm... I loved when I was a kid, I haven't changed much thought.. I still play catch or hide and seek, I dance in the middle of the street with my friends, I'm always saying weird things and laughing That's just how I am, I don't want to change. I'm saying I do all this but I'm not stupid, inside me there's a guy that can be very adult when it is needed
Anyway, I would like to keep eating Kinder surprise When my grand father was alive he used to give me one every day |

hahaha i still act like a kid too a lot of the time now hahahah...
but
i remember in grade 6, we had an overnight trip to this campsite and there was a big open field.... we played capture the flag at night there under the starlit sky!!
it was so pretty and so much fun!! i really wanna do that again... and go walk out in the night with friends and just talk and hang out...!!
my best friend and i used to play in this field near our house too haha it was so much fun just running around and jumping in the grass like nothing mattered hahaha... i miss those days!!
the field's gotten a lot smaller now that we're both bigger and we've both moved away from it haha but i'm sure we can always find a new field to play in! |

Man, that is not fair! I'm the most nostalgic person, and there's a million ways I could answer this question...
I really miss those summers where I had nothing at all to do but go to my friend's house every single day, stay up late watching movies and sleep in. It always felt like summer would never end back then, and I really miss not having a care in the world like that.
There's a mall close to my house and my friends and I used to walk around in it and talk and buy random things. Now it's really run down, and most of the stores are closed or will be closing soon. They're going to demolish it soon...
I miss those random times in middle school where the little things made the most fun times. One time two of my friends came to my house to spend the night and we made garlic mashed potatoes and ate them in my room with strawberry and vanilla frosting (separately, of course, hehe). We recorded all the stupid things that made us crack up in this little notebook and sometimes I look over it just to see how silly we were back then. There was another time when one of my friends came over so we could work on this project we were doing about supernatural things, and when we were trying to look for pictures of ghosts on the internet, we found a few pictures that scared the living crap out of us. There was one where the ghost was a little less obvious, and we were having trouble finding it, so we kept looking around the picture for it. Eventually, I found it first and it scared me so badly that I screamed out loud! There were a few other times like that that I really miss, like when we burned straws over candles in my kitchen and tried to make little shapes out of them, and playing hide and seek in the winter because we were that bored, and building forts in my living room...
Maybe it sounds a little strange, but I probably miss times from last year the most because they're the most vivid in my memory. The spring was really beautiful last year and I really started appreciating the weather at that time. The warm sunshine on my face as I was walking home from school, the pouring rain in the afternoon... My summer was so much fun because I stayed up until insane hours of the morning doing random things, like discovering Ai-chin's music, for example... Maybe it's because it feels like time is passing so quickly, but overall last year felt really beautiful. |

Things that I miss doing. Oh wow. This could be long.
I miss being able to go outside and run and play. To ride my bike and stay out until sunset. My neighbor and I played together all the time. We didn't play with many toys, though. We mainly used our imaginations. I miss that more than anyone can comprehend. We used to scare ourselves silly over this abandoned house that we were SURE was haunted. We'd go and spy on it and then one of us would see something move inside and we'd run away screaming. I remember one time when we tried to dig a tunnel to China. Our efforts were thwarted by the parental units, though.
I miss my best friend from grade school. We had such great times together. We'd have slumber parties all summer long. One night my house, the next hers. We'd go swimming in the day and stay up late watching movies and daring each other to eat weird concoctions. We'd dish about boys and build forts and get into the worst kind of trouble.
I miss going to the roller skating rink and hanging out. That was so much fun! I have so many memories from that place. Crashing into tables and knocking people off their seats, playing skating games like the limbo and the bunny hop. Chasing each other around the rink and getting into trouble.
I want to go to the park and get in a swing and just swing as high as I can! Hang upside down from the jungle gym, or play silly hand games with a friend. I want to go down a four foot tall slide and think it's the scariest, most fun thing in the world!
I miss being able to go fishing, catch the smallest fish ever and have it declared, "The catch of the day!" Or to be able to go lay in the grass and watch the clouds and basically not have a care in the world.
We had a little shop just a few houses down, where they sold used junk. I miss going down there with a dollar in my hand an buying the strangest things, and then getting free things given to me.
I miss getting suckers at the bank when you're at the drive-through!
God... so many more things. I could go on forever, but I think I'll stop here. |

sometimes, i feel like i never had a childhood. up till age 7 (grade 2) i was in hong kong, and i felt like all i ever did then was homework and studying. all i really got to do in my spare time was about an hour or so of tv. summer is even worse, my parents would sign me up for these study courses.
so when we finally moved to canada, i was over joy. my parents told me that there's no homework (yet) and the studying is not as rough. well, they cheated me. my parents cheated me. grade 3 was when they start taking school seriously and asign you math homework every night. wosre of all, every night when i'm doing homework, my sister and cousins would be playing around me. booo!
i guess is these things that made up my personality as i grew up. the last year of high school, my friends and i would do the funniest things. i'll whine just because the sunset was in my eyes. and when someone used up all the napkins without refilling it, one of us will whine and complain to another friend. than that "adult" friend will either go get more napkins or tell other to get more. of course, we have our mature side too. like when we have to deal with fights among friends and other grad issues.
anyhoo, even now, i try to watch morning cartoons whenever i get the chance (sometimes even barney ) and i have a collection of stuff toys, that'll probably keep growing (now that i have the money to finance it ) |

Ahh! Cartoons! How could I forget them. I tend to watch them whenever I can, too! I did preschool for almost three years and I got addicted. It doesn't even matter if the cartoon is completely stupid, I love it. But, it's nice! It allows me to hold on to a part of my childhood. It's a shame though, that most of the cartoons I loved as a young child aren't on TV anymore. (Or of they are, they're really hard to find.)
I used to love Captain Planet, Tailspin, Dumbo's Flying Circus, Sesame Street, My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, Fraggle Rock... oh god. I could so go on for hours.
Now I enjoy The Wiggles, Arthur, Dragontales, Sesame Street, (Pre-Joe) Blues Clues, The Backyardigans, and just whatever else strikes my fancy as I channel surf. It's sad, though. I don't watch them the same way I used to. One of the perks of growing up. Now I watch them and find myself analyzing the educational values and such. Of course, I still enjoy them, it's just not the same anymore.
And my stuffed toys? They're never going anywhere. I don't care if I'm 80. Most of them hold at least some sort of sentimental value, or are otherwise just cute. |

I loved my childhood. I could act like a crazy brat and no one would mind. I really miss those summers most though. We used to go swimming a lot, then to the playground to play till midnight. It was so fun that growing up for me never seemed that great. In winter at school me and my friends used to play in the courtyard throughout all the break. I used to eat ice cream everyday and watch cartoons all the afternoon.
Now I'm almost twenty. Well can't do those things any longer. I work in summer and I go to college in winter. Wish I could do those things again.. |

I LOVE being a kid, I've been thinking back these days too....being "older" just has too much responsibility. You have to think twice before you can do anything, and you can just do ANYTHING when you're young. And it seems like everything is getting complicated when you grow up,
I would keep doing the following activities....
1) ride my bike around the street....just feels so nice with the wind
2) play in the snow....ok, in my backyard, so people will not give me weird looks
3) eat ice-cream with tonnes of candy sprinkles
4) watch cartoons to relax... |

playing holi.... yes i miss doing that... holi is actually a festival in india... where one celebrates the coming of spring.... we play by throwing colour powder on each other... and water and water baloons... and coloured water.. and use "pichkaris" which spats out water... its just so much fun... but i havent played in so long... its not that adults dont play.. everyone plays.. but i just haven't had the time to play and the people to play with... really wanna play now.. oh oh its coming on the 15th of march ^_^

Right now I wish when I was a baby and all I did was sleep all day and if I needed food or a change or someone to play wih all needed to do was cry.
Most of all, I miss sleep. Nowadays I take 4 naps a day and go to class tired as heck, come back to my dorm and do work, eat dinner, watch TV, wake up for my stupid 8.30 class *screams* and then repeat the cycle. I'm sooo tired. I want to sleep all day like a baby does. |
