I know most of you guys aren't regular visitors to our official blog, call it a subsection or sister site of Channel-Ai if you wish, but I assure you there're lots of awesome J-Pop articles and Ai-chin info available there if you are willing to explore a little.
So I launched a new Ai-chin page called Ai's Web Archives at the blog few weeks ago, but I believe not many (maybe none) of you guys noticed its existence. This is a secret project I started right after I founded Channel-Ai back in April last year. I downloaded Ai-chin official site onto my computer each time a new layout is in use, and so far I've collected quite a few of them. They are all fully functional and brings you back to the good old times when Ai-chin first released her Kuroge Wagyu Joushio Tanyaki 680 Yen single in January 2005 or when SMILY became Ai-chin first Oricon no.1 single in May 2005.
I'm sure some of you newer fans never have the chance to see her older official site layout, even those who have seen it before might want to revisit the old site and find back your memories. Whichever case applies to you, I hope you all will enjoy this little surprise I have for you all!
Do visit Channel-Ai Community Blog more often, I spent equal amount of time maintaining the blog if not more compared to the forum. It's like my little Ai-chin fansite, but the main attraction is still those awesome articles written by your fellow cool members: Jason, Rinoa, spellcheck, broken::dreams, Lainay, spirus and the upcoming XXX. I'll keep it a secret for now.
Feedback, suggestion and bug report of this project is welcomed, as always. "Your opinion matters", maybe I should make this a motto of Channel-Ai.
Known issues:
- JAM PUNCH Tour 2005 layout is missing the main movie file (.swf)
P.S. I'm looking for helpers to administer the gallery, main job is to organize the gallery, such as creating new albums and move images whenever necessary and rename images in a consistent way. If you are interested in helping (I want only dedicated and responsible volunteers), please gimme a PM. Thank you, much appreciated. |

Oh, wow!
Honestly, I had only looked at the Blog once and had assumed it was for VIP members or something else of the sort, heh heh That's so cool that it's available for everyone! It also seems like a perfect place to find out more about Ai, hehe. Thank you for both the information of what's new in it and what to look for it! I'll definitely check it out more in the future!! |

Do you know you can actually click on the site layout preview and visit the "working" version of the old official site? The ayu site you mentioned only have a "screenshot" of it, but they don't give you the first hand experience of actually browsing the site in its old layout.
Well, just to let you know that those archives are not just "screenshots". Click on it to see it in action! |

Yes, I have both SMILY and Bidama layout downloaded and Bidama layout should be working. In case you have doubts, here's a direct link to the Bidama version.
The index.html uses javascript to randomize between SMILY and Bidama version, so yeah, you have to try a few times before you get to the Bidama one.
I will put up the LOVE COOK version too after they changed the official layout to Frienger. Actually I haven't started to mirror the site yet, since I don't think they're updating the site anytime soon. Just hope I do get the chance to mirror it before they change it by surprise. |

Pretty awesome! I love the idea! Like you said, I never got to see a lot of her older layouts, so this is nice. So much better than just plain old screenshots of the websites, too! I can't believe you actually have the pages working! Very cool! |

I know about the site you're talking about Evil_tomba, it's also known as the Wayback Machine, and it keeps an archive of the whole internet, pretty much, even though most of the time the images are broken and the page doesn't render correctly.
I've tried to use that before to reconstruct her official site during Ai-chin debut period, but I didn't really spend too much effort on that. Some of the images still works, but not all, which makes a problem.
Anyway, at least starting from Kuroge Wagyu we have a perfectly working archives of her official site, which can proved to be useful in the future, if not now. |

I know I am late. >_<;;
Well, I have been thinking of this kind of feature too for my fan site of Namitamaki.net. Now that I see it's even possible, it will be a great advantage over other Ai Otsuka fansties/forums.
PS: how did you get the old site up on the server? I have the folder, flash, and content pages downloaded to my PC, but how do dyou get it on your server? Simple upload? |

This is a great idea! Thank you eyn, for letting me see what I have been missing out on for the past years ( ) The Planeterium layout looks really pretty, with its dreamy effects and all, but I still prefer the Yume Kui one. It's just too cute to resist! Can't wait for the Renai Shashin layout! |
