| Hoping that Ai's new single could once again capture number one spot on Oricon single chart, I checked on the single release schedule to see which others artists will also be releasing their single on the same date as Ai. There are few notable artists like Puffy and Abe Natsumi but I don't think they will be much of a threat to Ai. But B'z also will be releasing their single on the same day. B'z holds the record for the most no.1 singles and one of the highest accumulative sales in Japan. Frankly, I think Ai chance of getting no.1 spot is slim now but nonetheless I will still buy the single. |

| B'z is huge, and they've been around for .... 11, 12 years? Their last single was released around Fairyland (I think a week after) and it outsold it by 200K and stayed on the chart forever. I'm not really into them (although I do love Itsuka no Merry Christmas), but sorry, Ai doesn't really have that much of a chance...probably number 2. But there's still a chance. |

OMG!!! Avex should have put it a week early so Ai could have kicked BoA's ass!!! I don't give the slightest care that they are from the same label.
Avex should be banking on Otsuka Ai's current success and try to get as much #1 singles as she can, it looks fantastic on her musical resume. >_>
Oh well, #2 will probably just have to suffice. ~_~ |

Avex should really release the frienger single faster
(im noting the fact, that Ai-chan is top of succes rightknow)
she is all around commercials , record sales are not bad movies is coming etc. but i
guess avex is knowing what they are doing or then they really dont  P8) |

i guess avex wants to know people like who more B'z(the more experince) or Ai(the not so experince one)
i really hope Ai's frienger can go up to the no. 1 spot |

hahaha maybe one idea as to why avex chose to do this is because everyone knows B'z is huge and that Ai, a fairly new comer doesn't stand much of a chance at beating them...
it's not a big loss if Ai gets number 2 in that case....
but if Ai DOES manage to get a number 1, then it's a HUGEEEEEEEE victory!
i guess in that sense they don't have too much to lose... |

Yeah, with B'z releasing the same day, ai-chan will have to cope with nummber 2.  What I'm hoping is once B'z single goes down, ai-chan can climb to the top. That would be really awesome, I have a feeling that "Frienger" would stay on the chart for a long time....like "Planetairum".  So hopefully, if ai-chan couldn't climb to number 1 the first day, it'll reach number 1 later.

Well, actually, debut numbers sometimes have nothing to do with sales. Look at Sakuranbo. The peak was #5, yet it sold as much as Ayu's & single. Ayu's To Be debuted at #4, but it sold over 400K. But yes, a number 1 single would be nice. |

Hm... good point raised... Otsuka Ai has only been in the business for 2.5 years or so, she has nothing to lose and everything to gain from this.... Just imagine if she could topple B'z!!!
But still, it's a pity she couldn't get #1.... |

more than that i believe. i agree, maybe she wont [but let's hope!] maybe she can hit number1 daily. but for weekly, not sure. eventhough frienger will be a great song i believe. |

| Well, even if Freinger doesn't grab #1, it can stay in the top 5/top 10 and get lots and lots of sales anyway. I don't think B'z and Ai have the exact same fanbase, so her sales shouldn't be affected too much. |
