Name: Shiina Ringo / 椎名林檎 /Also quoted as (Shéna Ringö / Sheena Ringo.
Her born name that she was given is Shiina Yumiko/ 椎名裕美子. She changed
her name though to Ringo, as people told him that she blushed like an Ringo in front of peoples when she was child

Shiina was raised in a family of musicians, and she studied piano,
music and ballet at an early age. She was once asked to compose a song for her
school play. Her skill's at song writing has remained throughout her career, where she writes all of her own songs, with the exception of occasionally covering other artists. Shiina Ringo has written songs for artists such as Hirosue Ryoko and Tomosaka Rie. She has a also a brother named Shiina Junpei and they have been both supporting eachothers , and also they have recorded couple of songs together.

Oh I love Shiina Ringo a whole lot. She keeps releasing great music weather it's solo or with her band. As much as I love Tokyo Jihen I would love to see her release some new solo stuff one day, and I bet she will one day.
Her PVs are awesome too. |

Yeap, its a shame like you said yuubae that there arent much people that are aware about Shiina and her band. 
I love Shiina so much and also Tokyo jihen her lyrics are awesome!!
she is very talented person She can fit almsot every kind of music in to a other style. I like also her solo works but Tokyo jihen rocks also i like the jazzy rock pop that they are producing im so addicted to him/them! Oh yeah Rocknroll i wish that she will release a solo too once more and i bet she will. Guys what are your favorite album from Shiina or Tokyo Jihen? I like the
Kalk Samen Kuri no Hana is the best imo the adult album is also my favorite. |

In this site, what a shame i thought there would be more then rocknroll, yuubae and me
Cmon theres gotta be more (just join in) Shiina is such an brilliant artist why people dont like?

I gotta agree that Shiina Ringo is like the goddess of rock or something.
She is just 1 music genius.
The instruments and sounds that she uses in her music is just sheer beauty!
The first time i heard of her was pretty long ago, i still remember the song as, STEM.
I coulden't get what she is singing and i found out that it was in english.
Slowly i saw the performance of Kuki(japanese ver. of STEM) on mtv and I'm amazed!
And i can't stop myself from singing the melody out.
But it was till recently around last year did i really went crazy for her.
I just started to download her music and gotta say, I have been missing out on alot of extraordinary japanese music !
And no you can't resist the way she sings her, Rs~ *laughs*
My personal fav. by her is Gibs/Gips/Gibusu. Don't know which is the right one. But the first time i heard this song, i was really struck dead! A nice rock ballad if i'm not wrong. Really applicable in my life if i had to say.
Koko de kisu shite is like.... LOVE! I really like this song and Marunochi Sadistic from her first album! And not forgetting Tsumiki asobi! Learn and love to show the dance steps to my frens!
I also like songs like Tsuki no makeinu, kyogenshou, izonshou but tts too much to list!!
Now for tokyo jihen, i liked them too but the first album i did not really liked all the songs. But Gunjyo Biyori is like my favourite song of all time! It's really catchy and there all lotsa cool sounds by shiina's vocals. Something you would not expect from other female singers.
And for the album Adult, one of my fav. album of ALL TIME! I gotta say, Superstar made me cry and Tegami its like.... MARVELOUS! I look the whole melody and all!

Yeap, her way to pronounce *Rs* is so unique and the lyrics she does are unbelievable
And when she combines there the freaking sweet melodys,
that she produces you could say like you said that she is an one and mayby the only unique music genius. Yeap, now to the other
point. If someone wants Tokyo Jihens ~
Adult album up in here i can uploadit!
and also i can upload Shuraba single i might up-load older albums too from

YAY! i just got into tokyo jihen kind of recently hahaha
i think they're pretty durn awesome!!!
like jazzish funk and cool stuff!! their arrangement is always so full and exciting haha it sometimes feels like it's kind of unbalanced haha but it's still pretty good i'm sure that's just a way they incorporate their style
recently my fav song by them is the adult version of shuraba haha it totally blows the single version out of the water... i love the guitar part! it's so cool!!
their music does sound pretty different though now that they have their new guitarist and new keyboardist! |

I think Adult is highly recommended for anyone too!
To me I think that the album is very balanced, not too loud or heavy as well.
Not forgetting that this album holds some of the best songs i had ever heard.
For me I really do recommend, Tegami, Himitsu and Kabuki!
I really do look forward to more new release by Tokyo Jihen(Shiina Ringo) ! |

Shuraba (adult ver.)
is also a must recommend for anyone like LVXS recomended, i recommend also.
no matter are you Shiina Ringo or Tokyo Jihen fans becouse,
by listenning this song you
can see why shiina is called the music genious.
This songs is like sugar to your ears.
Jazz based sound, shiina´s great voice and a full band sound.
Meaning Every one puts what they have to give in this song. Guitar parts are awesome Toumei ningen also is must listen this album version is imo bad but its still good.
live version is thoug better,
and like runawayschi remmonded himitsu and tegami they are must listen also-
himitsu song has that groove and is just blows our mind,
And Kenka Joutou is also so freaking sweet song (gomen nasai) my odd language  kenka Joutous lyrics are just so catchy ones and the fast tempo jazzy rock sound beat is just amasing! |

| It does suck that not as many know about her as they probally should, but her fans are very dedicated usually at least. I think my favorite album from her is Muzai Moratorium; even though I love them all espesically the cover one and the first Tokyo Jihen albums too. They are all so good. |

My favorite Shiina (solo) songs are: Shuukyou, Gibusu, Yami ni Furete Ame, Tokyo no Onna, Tsumiki Asobi, Souretsu, and STEM.
I first listened to Honnou and then STEM (which was on the Casshern soundtrack), but Shuukyou was a huge smack in the face for me. I instantly loved Shiina after that.
My favorite Tokyo Jihen songs are (I haven't listened to all of Adult yet, but I have it) are: Gunjo Biyori, Sounan, and Genjitsu wo Warau.
This doesn't mean that I don't love the rest, too!

It was by Madonna.
But i really like her when she is singing english song.
usually i don't like to her j-musician sing english song.
but for her i totally loved it!
