I'm thinking of the same thing. I guess all japanese artists are workaholics.

Some information: considering the new releases.
The OSCA cover has been released, as well as the tracklist.

01 OSCA
02 Pinnochio (ピノキオ)
03 Kaban no Nakami (鞄の中身)

And on the recent mail for the club members there was an announcement,
that a another second single will be released on August 22nd and it goes by the name
Killer Tune
キラーチューン. It will also feature two another songs BB. QUEEN and Karada (体, 'Body').

So it seems that Shiina and rest of the group has been active instead of just laying around
in sofas. Heh.....but well the cover looks very nice to me! Someway reminds me of some Elt's covers.
And also the new announcement of another single made me wait the new single even more welcome back
東京事変!

And a new quite Interesting update news to all Shiina Ringo fans,
Our dear Ringo-hime will be taking charge of the music part of a Kabuki play
called 三人吉三 aka sannin-kichisaku which will be played at the at Cocoon theatre in Shibuya!
And the song which ringo has composed and arranged is expected to be played during the 3rd act of the play, the songs name is Treasure chest and it's a ballad and it will not be released on CD as the source is telling.
And the offer for Ringo has been made by the famous kabuki actor Nakamura Kanzaburō XVIII
十八代目中村勘三郎
someway its no big suprise at all since we all know SR is a big time fan of Nakamura Kanzaburō

and for those who don't know what Kabuki is
i suggest to go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabuki
and for those who want to know more about Nakamura start here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakamura_Kanzabur%C5%8D_XVIII
And finally here is the link to the occial site where the information is
displayed: http://www.daily.co.jp/gossip/2007/06/06/0000371085.shtml

i did expect this to happen someday,
since everyone who is familiar with Shiina knows' his love and desire for higher culture along with the music she does. I'm happy that she gets a change to fulfill what she wants to do and to do it together with a such well respected name. Im as well a fan of Kanzanburo so im expecting this like theres nothing else + this is quite a great year for Shiina Ringo Fans since she is working on a solo as well as with his band Tokyo Jihen they are working like nuts so the fans get much more and more material to enjoy Tongue

If anyone knows of a plays where I could find drum and/or guitar tabs (I mostly want drum) for Tokyo Jihen music I'd appretiate it a ton if they would share a link with me.

Their style would be awsome to be able to play on drums but its way too hard to just listen to and get it o_O

@ChocolateMesher
i can try to provide those at somepoint when i have more time in my hands ok.....?
but anyway anyone heard the new single osca? well guess what the PV has been aired for the song osca all ready so i sure has heard it and oh my...i would/would'nt say it's typical TJ song which will rock you and give you feelings like how can they always change their style so easily without losing their faces. But i must say the most interesting point is this song is not jazz anymore
so i wonder will there be anymore jazz from these guys....and about the PV its freaking
odd i recommend to look at it!
Shiina looks rather fine to me in this PV more better style then on the Heizei Fuuzoku era. And the song itself it was a positive experience to me so now i'm waiting to hear the rest of the songs from the two new singles and then we can see have they really abandoned jazz for some time and really gone to a whole new direction.

Osca is nice but i haven see the PV, and can't find it, i will go to youtube later though to see it, thanks for saying.
And 1 more thing.
Killer Tune is Superb, omg. It caught my attention the 1st time i listen to it. That is the 2nd song i listen from Tokyo Jihen and i did not know they were this good, it's late to know them now, arghh, but at least it is better than not knowing Nod .

^^^^ Killer tune is sure a song that is worth of listening,
it sure has that groove that this summer needs don't you think so? ne?
Kaban no Nakami is my favorite from OSCA, then Pinokio and then OSCA.
And i do recommend to listen Kaban no Nakami also it doesn't lose that much to Killer Tune.
Been playing that song for ages since the single was released,
gosh Tongue they should release Killer Tune faster so we could hear how BB Queen and Karada sound.

Little updating considering the Killer Tune Single:
In its very first week 33,000+ (33k) units sold thus far.

This just proves that Tokyo Jihen has very supportive/dedicated
fanbase, based on the fact that not many artist, specially not the
maintstream ones sell this much,
when we are talking about single releases and when theres a new
album coming just around the corner!! normally people tend to wait the
album, insted of buying single and in general record sales have been down
in Japan for a while
so way to go TJ!
Oh and by the way he new album VARIETY
*goraku* is coming at September 26. so please do remember to check it out.

And the OSCA single sold in its first week, 36,914.
and it debuted as number two in the oricon chart and stayed there for a while.

It clashes with the day that Love piece is released too. I wonder who will be higher in the oricon rankings for the 1st week.

There's atleast three new releases that day,
I dont want to predict nothing and i dont normally even look down on
record sales.

most important to me and what should matter most is
that they as a group have gotten the popularity, and the
ability to do musically and personally whatever she/they want to..

Shiina has been in the scene for a long time and has done his
share to make Japanese /alternative rock what it is today,
so imo she doesnt need record sales to prove what she is,
she has even said during her solo career that she dosent want
to get exposured to media like lots of artistest tend to do..
and still here she is without much of notice from mass
media she has been aknowledged by many people and still is doing her thing.
and as said they are pretty popular even though they arent maintsream music so
well see who tops on where and at the end personally for me it doesnt matter to me and
probably it wount matter to shiina either since there are always people who are supporting her music.
So she can do just the music she wants without the fear of someone guiding and controlling her what to release.
