With her debut album KAELA, which came out in December 2004, and her new album releasing this month, Kimura Kaela is a young talent whose potential is virtually limitless. Did I mention she's super kawaii?

Name: Kimura Kaela 木村カエラ
Birthday: 24th October, 1984

Mini Professional-Bio
This 21 year old model turned TV-presenter, made her major singing debut in June, 2004 with the release of her first single, Level-42. She originally started work as a model back in 2002 and appeared in several magazines like the Japanese Seventeen and ELLE girl. Since then she has appeared in popular music and fashion magazines like bounce, music master, VA, ROCKIN' ON JAPAN, CUTIE and What's In?. With frequent appearences on radio and in CMs (TV Commercials), her fresh new look and fashion sense got her widely noticed and landed her a TV Presenting job on TVK's morning program 'saku saku' in 2003, which she still presents every morning. With her public appearences ever increasing, and her ever growing popularity on 'saku saku', Kaela soon became a household name. Her popularity sky rocketed when her 3rd single Rirura Riruha 「リルラ.リルハ」was chosen as the theme song to an entire series of Vodafone's CMs. Her latest album Circle is absolutely superb IMO.

Circle [2nd Album]

Released: 2006.03.08
★★★★★/5

Mini-Review:

You [5th Single]
★★★★/5
Her latest single You from her 'Circle' album is a very cool song. From the moment it starts off, the melow acoustic guitar echoes through with the gentle drums. I can't say that the lyrics are spectacular but they do have a certain charm about them. Her vocals are quite appealing too. I don't know how else to describe her voice, but it reminds me of Sheryl Crow and I always thought that Sheryl Crow's voice was very "appealing".

BEAT [4th Single]
★★★★★/5
Her 4th single BEAT is also on this album. As the song starts, you're kind of taken back into the 90's and reminded of a kind of an upbeat Def Leopard-Bon Jovi-esque sound. Again the Sheryl Crow style vocals blend into the music really nicely. I can honestly tell you that I love this song. It's a pot-pourri of 90's American Rock mixed together with Mr.Children like harmonies. This track is a gem or more like a collector's edition Coca Cola bottle cap (very 90's) that's well suited for all music lovers. Be-warned, it WILL trigger nostalgia.

Other noticable tracks on the album include Rirura Riruha, It's the first track on the album, it reminds me somewhat of GreenDay's music. Punky, fresh and full of energy. There's also Thrill Thrill Licker, Twinkle (NANA ver.) and the album's title track Circle. Watch the PV for Circle on YouTube by clicking here. The song has a very addictive tune, I hope you enjoy it. The track Deep Blue Sky is quite an impressive track also. It's got a tantric feel to it, a lot of Indian classical influence, almost sounds like 60's trance.

The entire 'Circle' album is on my radio blog, radio.kei. Listen to it, enjoy it, and support her by heading over to Amazon.co.jp and BUYing it. Laughing

Her first album was KAELA. Unfortunately I still don't have that album, but that is going to change soon Tongue ... I do know 2 songs from that album, namely 'happiness' and 'Level-42' which were her 2nd and 1st single respectively. Again, head over to my radio blog to sample them or follow the YouTube link below to watch the music videos.

I'm glad there's a thread for kaera ^ ^ I like her since she was a model for the magazine called seventeen...
I think she's good to sing... better than Emi Suzuki (Juemilia and another model of Seventeeen)

i knew her since her modelling days since I am a fan of the SEVENTEEN magazine. i didn't like her very much as a model, but as a singer i think she's fine and her songs are rather unique. singles like You and Rella Relha are pretty nice, although some might not be interested in her music cos it's not typical girlish Jpop.

I recently had grown an interest in Kaela's music.
I saw about her on a taiwan tv programme.
Where they said that there this taiwan singer's pv who looked almost exactly like Kaela's.
And the song happens to be Happiness!!
And from that day on i started to search for her songs.
"You" is an awesome, i totally adore it!
I'm getting hooked by "Beat" as i am speaking... Laughing

Yay, Kaera fans! I just recently started listening to her music & LOVED it! My favorite song would have to be Rirura Riruha. She's a really talented artist with an awesome voice. I hope to hear more from her Giggle.

Speaking of which, I've been having a hard time finding her music. Any help on where? Embarassed
