This is a very interesting topic, Horizon180! Here's some other stuff that I found on April 13th on Google....
The Thai New Year "Songkran"
Celebrated every year on April 13 to April 15. It is also celebrated in Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar (Burma). Sri Lanka also celebrates a similar festival called Sinhalese and Tamil new year on the same dates.
The Chinese Water Splashing Festival
Everyone splashes water on each other as a form of celebration. And while it is traditionally the Dai people who are involved in the soakings, anyone in the streets at the time of the festival is fair game. |

chinese water splashing festival eh? that sounds a lot like the indian festival "Holi" [pronounced:Ho-Lee] which is the festival of colour. it celebrates the first day of spring and usually full of all the people spreading colour. colourful clothes, colourful foods, over the years, people started putting coloured powder on people (made of vegetable extracts, very herbal) and then to wash off that colour you need water, so eventually it became the "drench people in water" day, which is pretty much what holi is now, throw colour and splash water on people. usually celebrated around vernal equinox or the new moon around march april, because the indian calendar is lunar. but yeah, sorry, random fact, i think this year holi was about a month ago.
but yeah, didn't even think about looking on wiki, wow that's a detailed list, nice one Evil_tomba.
and yes, Lainay, you are right, the birth of channel-ai is the best off them all imo, because like kikubelle, i'm no history buff either. but knowing is better than not knowing, so yeah, 13th april, seems like an important date in world history.
