Thanks horizon180! for the translation ^__^
It was very pleasant to read this. It seemed 2 me that, she had fun doing this inteview like always xD and now i know the point of the songs meaning
*Friend" and "Ranger" (lit: friend + squadron),
who is a "Strong Friend" or a "Friend who can/will Fight for you". |

translation completed. it took me a while because there was lot of it. now i must make up for lost time i spent here and run back to work frantically panicking...
i love this interview. i also enjoyed translating the interview which was pretty much entirely in osaka-ben... my fav bit was when the interviewer tried to read too much into the coupling of the two songs and ai was just like, nope, nothing there, sorry.
i also liked ai explaining about how nervous she gets before performing on the piano.
*kawaii*
enjoy ^_^ |

Thanks for the interview and translations
a quick question ... what is "Osaka-Ben"? I'm assuming it's Ai's native dialect which makes some words different? |

thank you for the translation horizon180! I think you missed the last question on link 2 though:
Excite: やっぱり。勝手に、想像が膨らんでしまいました(笑)。『甘い気持ちまるかじり』の方は、いつ頃書いたんですか?
大塚: これは、カップリング用に作った曲なので、最近ですね。作ったのは今年に入ってから。
The interview was great! They asked a lot of question that really let the reader know more about Ai and the meaning behind the new single.
What really impress is how Ai strives for perfection in each song. And especially when she commented that the vocal is just a part of the song. |

Thanks horizon180 for the translation; I don't know what I'd do without you. Well, I guess I'd have no idea what the interview was about...
Ai-chan's amazing; I had no idea that she could play piano or how involved she was with the engineers and musicians. She seems to be a perfectionist when it comes to her art which I find extremely refreshing and respectable. Haha, and her message to readers at the end was awesome too! That's just what I need for this stressful exams month; Fight! |

@marktobaias: yes you are correct, osaka-ben is the strong osaka acent which is very much different from "normal" tokyo japanese (which is what i and certainly all learners of japanese), learn. so i suppose, it was a nice excercise.

thanks for pointing that out Aprilis. i guess i just forgot about that question. its quite an importnat question i guess, i've added it in the main translation as well but this is what it says:
Excite: I see, so it was indeed just my imagination running wild (laughs). So when was it then that you wrote "Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri"?
Ai: It's a song that I wrote specially as a coupling B-side, it was quite recent I suppose, I only wrote it this year.
--------
thanks for the words of appreciation guys. its nice to know that all that effort is indeed appreciated.

thank again for the full translation horizon180
now I remember this interview very well detail since I took 3 hours to translating and typing it at the same time (into vietnamese)
yeah, I luv the part where they call her 'demo' how nice
About playing piano and singing in front of audience I understand
even when with my brother beside, I couldn't play the note as when I'm alone
I'm not that a player though, learn to play the note by myself on a keyboard |

Thanks for the complete translation of the whole interview, horizon180, that totally rocks! I really enjoyed reading the interview and there's so much to learn about Ai-chin from each of these interview excite has conducted.
It's surprising to know that Ai-chin is more enthusiastic about composing rather than singing as she said "singing to me is just one of the ingredients". She's just so different compared to other jpop artists out there simply because she's such an all rounded musician.
Ai-chin's working attitude is also something we should learn from. While she could have thrown everything to the sound engineers etc. and enjoy her free time after finishing the recording but in the end she stayed till the very end and in charge of all the tiny details of her songs. For example, take a look at how she describe "Frienger" as a more tomboyish, genki song using male vocal for harmony (which I still can't figure out while listening) and how Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri is all girlish and feminine, it really gives me the chill about how much effort she put into her song and make me respect her more as an artist. She also composed the B-side specially for this single didn't she? Honestly, I think the B-side flow really nicely with "Frienger" and I think I should start writing a review of this single for the blog once the exam is over.
Thanks again horizon180 for the translation. This interview has definitely given me a whole new view of this single and I'll definitely include these information in my upcoming "Frienger" review. |
