Thank you very much for those scans, Lisa018! It must have taken you a while to scan them all, your effort is really appreciated!
For some reason the size of the scans aren't the same, did you scale down some of those like the cover and the page in yellow? It will be great if you can provide them in bigger size like some of the other ones you have uploaded there!
I like the different colour theme for the different Frienger. I think I like the yellow one the most simply because she looks so happy and cute there! *dies* For the red colour shirt, I think it's not so appropriate for her (the text, eww). lol, I hope she have no idea what does the text means.
Overall, great pictures, thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward for those PS scans. |

thanks for the scans. any effort to spead ai-love is appreciated, and that must have taken a lot of effort ... so thank you
i'm loving this new frienger look (i keep writing furenjaru because that's how you write it in japanese input ), some of her recent tv appearences have been very enjoyable. i'll have to agree with eyn, the yellow is the best, although it has close competition imo, the pink is right up there too ^^
i'm intently looking forward to the PS scans.
otsukare sama!

*falls in love a little bit more*
Thanks so much for those lovely scans.
How did she get away with having that slogan on her shirt? i'm guessing this magazine is aimed at younger people, that's one hell of an oversight. Although just because it's Ai-chan I shall assume that she doesn't know how strong a word it is in English |

I really like the outfit on the last picture, although I'm sure a lot of Japanese people just put random English on their shirts without even knowing what it means (e.g. Crapshoot and Ayu's shirt once said "ultimate Breast Champion").
But I really like that lucky charm shirt <3 wonder if there's possible way to get one like that...
/girliness
But I like the new look and hairstyle. |

Thanks so much for the beautiful scans, Lisa018!
I've been trying to get ahold of this issue--the closest Kinokuniya hadn't gotten it in yet when I last went shopping... argh.
I'll have to agree with others and say my favorite is the yellow one--so much happy energy!

This is fairly accurate. From what I know, Japanese for the most part doesn't *really* have swear words, at least not the same as English ones. There are terms and phrases which are taken to be/used as equivalents, but the harshness/sting/swear factor comes more from *how* they're used--very informal/casual form or conjugation (i.e. low or no respect shown) and harsh intonation.
Of course the phrase, "F*ck it," can be a light hearted, but crude, brush off of things (To h*ll with it, Screw that, Whatever, Pshaw, etc.). Think of how one could explain the meaning of the phrase. Unless one explains the explicit nature of the f-word in addition to the usage of the phrase as a whole, there's not much fault in wearing the shirt. Even if she knew what it 'meant,' it doesn't mean she's aware of the strength of the term.
Sorry for another long-winded response... I just want people to get as many facts as possible. Since the Crapshoot shirt was also brought up again, I thought I'd add the info I posted in the 'Frienger PV -Thoughts' thread, since it relates to the term vs. phrase discussion:
zyzzyva wrote: On a different note, I noticed there has been a lot of talk about her shirt. (It's very cute--I'm currently working on screening a copy of it for myself!)
eyn was right to point out that 'crapshoot' means "Something that is random, not based on skill." This is because it originates from the dice game Craps. Wiki
Further, like most forms of gambling, there is great risk involved, i.e. one either wins big or loses big--rarely is there a happy medium. So the term 'crapshoot' usually implies taking a big chance with those two possible outcomes.
When I first saw the shirt, I figured many would be unfamiliar with the term (probably even Ai and her costumer), but thought it amusingly appropriate given the circumstances. It is her first single to come out after LOVE COOK--setting the stage and tone of the fourth album to come. Also, it marks a drastic physical appearance change (new short hair--that's not a wig ). And, as discussed above, looking at a slightly different style of upbeat music. While it is still very-much the Ai we have all come to know and love, changes *are* present. I can't fathom that her risks (while minor, the Japanese public is a fickle thing) will blow up in her face ('losing big'). They seem to be ones for the good...
Hope all this helps shed some light on the issues. Also, remember that it is rare that stars choose what they wear in photoshoots (or PVs for that matter). If anyone is to blame for inappropriate attire, it's the costumer/stylist. It should be part of their job to ensure the wardrobe doesn't get 'lost in translation'... |

Thanks for the explanation zyzzyva.
Also it's not like they're expecting many native English speakers to see the words anyway so it doesn't really matter that much. Basically being an unintentional audience we have a right to be suprised hehe.
I did look up the term "crapshoot" once I saw it and found out it's meaning so that's a little different to having "f*ck it" written on a shirt |

@ eyn Im sorry but I cant made them bigger , because than they will look not so good quality.
I dont know why my scan-thing do some scans bigger an some smaller, I could only made them in the size 1209x1700-1800
Edit: I found out that photobucket made some of my pictures smaller what the F****
Ok in the future I must found another way.... now I know why the pictures from the popteen didnt have the same size |

yah, the photobucket resize your images if they're bigger than size limit (250KB I guess)
I use photobucket for small size image, for big size I use imageshack as eyn recommended
