Hey guys. Sorry that I haven't been around that long. I've had quite a bit of work between school, Japanese lessons, and other things that take up my time
But anyways, I want to assure you that I haven't forgotten about this model, and am right in the middle of finishing off a new set of geometry.
I was actually looking through this, and I almost fell over. Wow.... Amazing how much you can improve over a few months eh?
So don't worry, I'll be back soon, and better than ever!
P.s. Thanks for all the great comments and encouragement you guys have gave me! |

Oh my gosh.... I'm blown away. This is completely amazing. I think I've already posted here once.... Yeah, I guess I did, as momochuu. (But then that account started acting up... Well, actually, I'm starting to think someone hacked into it. Oh well. I don't know how to delete it and I have a new one. >_<)
But ANYWAY. It's really cool to see someone so young with so much talent in this field. I know I sound like a nostalgic old man, but really, I promise I'm not. I'm just amazed. XD (I'm really just fourteen, in all actuality... although some could say my personality is often that of a nostalgic old man. So to each his own.)
I have two suggestions -
1. Her lips... They look a bit too big and full to be Ai's. And I think they're a bit too far down on her chin.
2. Her nose is a little big. I know you've already gotten comments about this one, too, but I still had to say it, cause it sort of fit in with the lips comment. Okay, well, whatever, I'm OCD, alright? XD
3. Her eyebrows are, like.... really close together. And wide. Do you know what I mean? It looks a bit... neanderthal, if you don't mind me saying so.
Remember, I mean no offense, okay? This is just creative suggestions from a fellow graphics artist. ^~^ ♥ (My goal, actually, is to be a texture artist. I'm not sure who for, yet - probably some video game company? Definitely in Japan, though. Cause they're way more fun with their game ideas. But anyways, that's what I want to be. XP So yes.)
Oh, and you're a college student, right? (I should really stop assuming things. What if you aren't? XD) Anyway, if you are, where do you go to college? I want to go to OSU, because they have a really awesome graphics program there... and I already have recommendations from staff and future staff... So yeah, it's pretty cool. |

Yes, thank you for all your comments. But with this new human model I have, I'm going to have to redo the entire model. Shouldn't be too hard *final last words*

Hey, awesome man! I hate texturing, especially settings the model up so it has no weird stretching..... Perhaps we'll meet up in Tokyo sometime?

Actually, I'm only in grade 10 at the moment, but I have already made plans to go to Sheridan College over here in Oakville, Ontario.
Hope to see you around! I'll be updating my progress here every few days.... Right now the only thing need to finish up on the template model is the feet, and then finally redo the head.
Later!

Cool! You're back! We missed you! Can't wait to see the complete head! Making video games sounds nice. Maybe I might do something like that. |

That would be awesome! Otsuka Entertainment!
Well, just a quick update on the model. I just finished the feet! Now it's off to modeling the head which I will start tomorrow. The work just never ends does it?
Thank you so much guys for your support! |

Haha, thanks guys for your warm "re"welcome!

The head should take a day to make, and then probably around 2 more to tweak it to look like Ai. Yeah, lots of work .
And yes, I will post some pictures of the model once the basic "universal" character is completed, it's kinda weird seeing a body with no head now isn't it? .
I'll be starting on the head tomorrow, I'm all set up, and ready to go!
See you guys soon! |

ROFL. XD That's a funny image... LOL, I keep thinking about that and laughing! XDDD' OH, I'm so easily amused... XD

Ahaha! I know, it gets frustrating, but I love how it turns out if you do it right. And it feels so fun after doing all the rigging and junk... That stuff drives me CRAZY. O__O;;; XD (Modeling's fun, too, though, but it doesn't reward as quickly. I have a short-ish attention span, so I get tired of it quickly. XD) I hope we do, though! That'd be so cool. XP

Oh my goodness. XD You are SUPER talented. ;3 And you're only a year my senior, ne? That's awesome, though. And you're not too far from where I live! XP (Columbus, Ohio — yeah, that cow-town city that tries to be New York City but really can't... XD;; That's us!)
Anyway, I can't wait to see your progress! I know it'll be totally awesome when it's finished...
Oh, and by the way, how much did Maya cost? The version you have, I mean. Cause I've been meaning to try to get my hands on it, but if it's like, a LOT... I don't know. @_@ Just curious... XD;; |

Maya cost US$1999 for the complete version and the ultimate version cost US$6999.
The difference is that the ultimate version got fur, cloth and hairs. |

Haha. I own Unlimited, but I bought it at a student discount, $499 . Plus, it doesn't help to know some of the developers
Well, the universal model is done, now on the long and aarguous task on shaping it into Ai. Sorry, but I can't post an image of the model right now due to that it is nude :S.
I'll post some images of the head later this evening and show you how it's comming
Thanks guys! |
