I don't know why they called this "The Last Stand," though. They've already announced plans for a fourth movie.
what? they did? Surprised

I'm fairly certain that the 'fourth movie' is supposed to be one focused on Wolverine and his past (bits of which appeared as flash-backs in the first two X-men movies)--sort of a pre-quel and not really featuring the other X-men characters...

So in other words, this was the 'Last Stand' for the X-men team as we've seen them in this trilogy of movies. More specifically, it is the 'Last Stand' of the battle between the two sides of the mutant community, Xavier's X-men and Magneto's Brotherhood, the story arc that's been building since the first film. Since they've made it a battle of epic proportions, this could be seen as the 'Last be-all-and-end-all Stand', though with the ending scene of Magneto and the part shown after the credits, they obviously want to leave room for not only hope, but for the possibility of more movies in the future...

While the effects were exciting and certain parts entertaining and surprising, I didn't much care for the movie. I *loved* the first two, but I dearly missed Bryan Singer directing and the writing was not nearly as good in this one... too choppy...
Perhaps it got a little bogged down by too many [complex and interesting] characters--no real time for individual development. (People have already complained about how Rogue ended up getting 'the short end of the stick' in this one...)
It felt too much like it was just tying up loose ends and wrapping things up (which is important for a third film in a trilogy, but not the main focus...) with little effort put forth in making a strong film.

I can't exactly put my finger on what disappointed me so much with this movie, but that's how I felt after seeing it: disappointed. I didn't go into it with high expectations, but *really* wanted to be pleasantly surprised. It just felt flat. Oh, well. No

trying to make a viruse strain that only wolverine

power. though that;s just my thought's since i am a big

I've actually heard rumors that there are going to be three spin-off movies, with each on focusing on a different character. One is supposed to be Wolverine as stated by zyzzyva and Magneto is supposed to get his own movie as well. My friend who's big into movies and comics told me this but if anyone has some more hard proof it would be appreciated.

Just wanna say thanks to all who sent me PMs regarding the last few seconds after the credits. Giggle I seriously think they should put it BEFORE the credits.....it would make more sense.

I think the uncanny x-men has the viral strain theory sorta mooted with beast giving the brilliant idea. Ditto stryfe and nimrod's arrival. Methinks nimrod is a solid cgi character and the guardian is gonna be a real hit (remember in the cartoons when he smacks juggernaut? Imagine Vinnie Jones versus The Guardian - The Rock maybe?). Colossus has been given minimal exposure, i.e. those cgi shots don't count (it's a pity considering Colossus's major role in the early 80s - when comics were still in black and white). Mystique? Enough of her, bring on Apocalypse. I agree that Apocalypse would be a great villain apart from the standard magneto fare. Mr Sinister however will really make things hot (imagine Mr sinister appearing with a heavy metal soundtrack in the background).

The last night watch the X-Men 3 Movie. X-Men 3 is a awesome movie. Wow, where do i start on this fiasco movie. In regards to my affection for the first two movies in the series. This one is even debatable on rental. Let it go to the special section, or as I call it "The Last Stand".
