Three new oricon poll were conducted about female artists' hairstyle:
1) Girls' rank on artist's hairstyle
2) Guys' rank on artist's hairstyle
3) A combined ranking from girls and guys.
Ai managed to made it in the second and third poll. She placed 5th under guy's rank, and 9th under the combined ranking.

Personally, I'm kind of surprised that Ai made it at all. Most of the time we see Ai with long hair dyed hair: straight, curly, bangs, etc. Nothing that's really out of the ordinary. It was only recently that we saw a total brand new hairstyle with her haircut.
And it's certainly a surprised to see Ai placed above Ayumi Hamasaki under the guys' poll. Especially since Ayu changes her hairstyle more often (and obvious) than Ai. And the fact that Ayu is known for creating new trends in Japan. |

Yay I'm happy to see Ayu first place on the Girl's chart.  3 She deserve it.
I'm happy Ai made it on all three charts~ Her old hairstyle was nothing out of ordinary, but I think it really suited her and it was very cute. Plus she has lots of variations in her PVs, such as SMILY, Neko ni Fuusen, etc. The new semi-short hair also suits her well, it's very very cute and summery~ |

Ayumi is a crazy hair queen hahaXD I salute her for it!
Even though Ai Chin's first hairstyle was very common I think it suited her very much. Big loose bouncy curls are pretty ^^ However the up do in SMILY and Frienger cutsy mini curls are good. i don't like Neko ni Fuusen hair because its just really messy and I dont think it's all that cute. But changing hairstyles is an important part of an artist's career ne? With change they kind of in a sense keep their fans since if they dont change then their fans will think they are boring. (Not entirely true)

ooh that's good that Ai made it on the polls. I agree with caffeinated though, though Ai's old hair style is just curly most of the time, it suits her very much, because it's so cute  She recently has been chaging her hairstyle a bit more often, and I like her hair in the PVs and in Frienger  |

Saw this at Ayu forum XD but yes, congrats to Ayu...she's like the hair queen. XP But Ai's hairstyle doesn't really change much overall...so it's surprising she's on the least for girl...
Guys is another story... |

 That's just like Ryo Nishikido from news getting 4th on an Oricon poll for best advertisements when he hasn't even had his own solo TV CM.
But anyhow, her long her is really nice, I wouldn't mind if she had it all the time..... I especially like it at Gold Disk Awards when she performed Daisuki da yo
And yes, Ayumi deserves her placing, she just changed it again 1-2 weeks ago, and it sort of looks like Otsuka Ai's current hair, except just a little bit longer.  |

Nani!? wow, once again ai-san made it almost *hands down*
her long hair is really nice, she should stay in that hairstyle or...
i would not mind if she stayed in that style but the one in frienger
suits him very well also. Ayu was not suprise for me that she taked the number one spot...

I don't get why people like her longer hair better... maybe because it's her signature style. Personally, I think her new hair suits her better ^__^ it's a mix between tomboyish and kawaii |

| I think the long hair at the start of her career really suit her.Makes her so lady-like and beautiful.The hairstyle in neko ni fuusen is te short 1,changing her whole preview and in many way cute to me.The 1 in Frienger really makes her very beautiful.Wow is the 1st comment when i see the frienger PV 4 the 1st time. |

| I liked her hair for Frienger, she was so cute in the PV. I think that she does look a bit better with short hair since it gives her a different look. And like clover wrote, "tomboyish and kawaii", I can agree with that. |
