ah that's cool.
One guy over at the howards forums was lucky enough to get a softbank 904T before june and got it unlocked ><
Oh well hopefully something pops up in the near future as most of the western phones are a bit iffy..
Do you recommend the 703SHf?
hahah our ice cream is good I guess (something I don't really pay much attention too, guess I take it for granted ><)
If you ever get the chance try the rocky road ice creams from tip top (strawberry is the best imo) or the kapiti ice creams (probably the best I have ever tried)

Hmm.. 703SHF is like a little brother to 803T if comparing with mp3 capability XDDDD
Although you may feel that the 703SHF is a bit "plastic" filmsy feeling, and the internal buttons are normal, it is a nice lower end 3G phone with two camera!!! The external design is cool, go for the pink one XDDDDDD
And yeah Ice cream XDDD Any NZ icecream is cool!! I love them XDDD Dun worry, I'll try that rocky road when I go NZ again XDDD |

Thanks for that furitsuke!
Ah ok, hmm maybe I should just get another 803T as a backup (really want that green one)
There is one pink 703SHf on trademe but its going for like $300 NZD (so broke ><)
Anyone other recommendations for a higher end 3G phone that can be used outside of Japan?
If you get the chance try the kapiti ice creams green tea flavor (its amazingly good)

| Ahh I want to get a Japanese phone as well. Softbank phones look so nice but usually can't be unlocked which sucks. Yep recommendations on phones that can be used outside Japan would be great~ |

I'm a big fan of white or light/lime green phones..pink too.
My phone wishlist:
803T(WHITE! or green or pink)
703SH (white or green)
TX80 (white)
If I could get these, I'd use them for a longgg time. I won't be asking my parents for a new phone ever again.....till I am allowed to buy my OWN phones!
The V501SH is niceish, eps. the white one. lol
I hope I can go to Japan after grad, and buy an unlocked phone.
I'd just have to put in my sim right? and no charge... |

Wait...
Why would you go to Japan to buy an unlocked phone? Most manufacturers hate it when other countries find ways to unlock it (but obviously I don't mind at all). Maybe there will be small stores where someone brings the Japanese phone to another country and has it unlocked, then they bring it back to Japan, but you will have much better luck not going all the way there to find it. If you really want to buy an unlocked phone, you have to buy the ones unlocked by people from other asian countries. So in other words, you can't use Japanese phones in america (well you can but on super expensive plans). And Japan manufacturers will not unlock phones, since they need to earn money off of plans, too.
Edit: Also, for unlocked you can buy Japanese edition or Chinese edition, I think. For the Japanese ones I heard it comes so you can type Japanese/English and with menu for Japan, etc. |

You cant 'buy' phones in Japan unless you are a current resident or have some proof like alien card (forgot exact name ><) ..etc
Also they dont sell phones by themselves in Japan - tried to get one while I was in Japan as they are sold with plans and it's now illegal to unlock phones in Japan. At the moment ALL Softbank phones made after June 2006 CAN NOT be unlocked. (but people are trying)
Most "Chinese" edition phones have been flashed and can not display Japanese (from what I have read anyway) But if you just want the phone and not care about Japanese then it might be a good idea to look into the Hong Kong phones.

Hi Guys XDD I'm back from my holiday trip XDDDD
Hahah!! Yeah, you need to stay in Japan in order to buy the phone.. unless you buy from the "Black market" in Akihabara XDDDD
Hmm.. reccommendations

2) 902SH ( high end phone with powerful camera features, 2MP)
3) 903SH ( high end phone with powerful camera features, 3.2MP)
4) 904T (high end phone with powerful GPS capabilities) |

I finally cracked under the pressure and got myself a phone. I didn't know what was good or what wasn't and I really didn't care all that much but I ended up getting myself a chocolate. Not the new TG800 but the 8500.

I like it. The biggest thing for me was that it was small and unobtrusive to my pocket, hehe. |

Aww, I didn't know they had a white chocolate. I might have swayed and made it match the colour of my DS. |

| The pebl's such a weird phone; it's not my cup of tea. It's the slide and flip phone if we're talking about the same thing; my friend has one. It's not the prettiest phone but it looks pretty tough and I sure wouldn't be afraid to just toss that in my pocket or wherever. |
