Although "Yumekui" is still almost 2 months away from release, I feel it is time to look at other singers that will be releasing their single on the same day as Ai. Last time, Ai was denied the first spot for "Frienger" due to B'z release and I hope Ai will not have such a strong competitors this time round. The below oricon links the singers releasing single on 8/2. Looking at the list, there are few notable names(no Johnny's) but I think Ai looks the most promising. But it is still quite long till 8/2 and I bet there will be new singers annoucing the 8/2 release date. From a Japan bbs, Wat is slated to be also releasing a new single on 8/2. If it is true, I believe Wat will be Ai strongest competitors this time round.

from what I've read there really isnt anyone who would be able to take the top spot from Ai at the date of the release, other than UVERworld anyway. So it looks like it will be a secure number one in my opinion *fingers crossed*

| 東方神起 previous sales were generally low although I don't have the exact numbers but I always see them debut at 5th-10th spot in their first week. I think they will not be much a threat to Ai. An interesting note, few of their singles were released on the same date with a Johnny's group. Perhaps, Johnny's way of eliminating any potential competitions. I hope there will not be any Johnny's group releasing single on 8/2 seeing how Johnny's is such a big force in today's JPOP. However if WaT did released a single on 8/2, they will be the biggest threat in my opinion. Their two single sales since debut are 285,246 and 178,268 respectively. |

hmmmm to me the Jonny thing doesnt appears to me LOL.... its always boring to see them [ small and thin ] + if im not wrong i see them dance before and its a HORROR !!
even thought they look handsome, they look gay to me ? i dont know but they are not really Yaoi kind [ far from that LOL ]
UVERworld isnt that famous right ?.... + i think Yumekui is rather a strong release, but people who watch tokyo friends might think its boring since its heard for suchy a long time |

from the look of that list, seems like ai-chan should be able to get number 1 that day. WAT would be the biggest competitor if they decide the release on the same day, but I have faith with ai-chan that she should get the first place. |

Going by Tia-Kun's list, I think Otsuka Ai would win hands down. Same goes for that Oricon list.
If the WaT rumour is true, then yes, they will be her strongest competitor.. but it's a rumour afterall... though they have been really quiet for the past few months.... Well, if anything, I still think Otsuka Ai would edge WaT out, simply because Yumekui has the tag of a movie theme song, and WaT's debut album sales were quite poor considering their success with their two singles.... |

| I hope she tops the chart...and stays at the top. I hate to see my favorite artists grab the top spot for only a day and then slide down as the days (and then the weeks) go by. Ai's sales are generally steady, so I shouldn't be worrying, especially not with a movie tie-in (or was that the one to be released in the fall?)... |

Both have a movie tie-in. Yumekui is the theme song of Tokyo Friends the Movie, and Renai Shashin is the theme song of Tada, Kimi wo Aishiteru. |

| Glay will release a collaboration single with KYOSUKE HIMURO(former BOØWY) on 8/2. Though Glay is not such a force as they were in the late 90s when rock music was popular. But a collaboration work will be more special and thus generate more sales. The last time when Glay release a single with EXILE, the single sold over 500K. This single should be "Yumekui" strongest competitor. |

yeah, ai is going to have competition definetly with glay and wat. im not to sure about uverworld, but i dont think they would affect it as much. mainly glay and wat.
BUT, there is also the factor that ai's movie is also coming out around the corner right after? i think of her release of yumekui which would boost sales. |

I think Ai's biggest competitor would be GLAY too, other than that, I think she would top the charts (and hopefully she'll get at least #2 if not 1)! I don't know half of the artists that Tia-Kun gave besides miyavi though |

| Johnny's group Arashi will be releasing a new single on the 8/2. The song will be the theme for their upcoming movie. Looks like Ai will once again have a tough fight. |
