Boogie Welcome fellow members to the Channel-Ai Concert Hall! Boogie
This is a place where Channel-Ai members can post their own musical performances. Whether it is singing, instrument playing, or both, all performances are welcome here. It doesn't matter if they are voice recordings or videos , just be sure that it is your own performance. Many people agreed to such an idea in the Mumble thread a while ago, so this is the place where all self-performances can be posted so they aren't scattered elsewhere. It has been a little too quiet here lately due to the waiting for Otsuka Ai's goodies so I hope that this is the kind of entertainment that Channel-Ai needs to break the silence.
Rules:
+ Share only your own performances
+ You may share voice recordings, videos, etc.
+ Any performance is welcome: singing, instruments, dancing, etc.
+ Show respect for everyone’s performances please
+ Do not steal anything
+ You don’t have to share one to post here, anyone can simply leave comments
+ Thanks to eyn and caffeinated, I will now host using Box.net (no expiration)
+ It doesn’t matter how good or bad you think you are, just have fun here!!
I have many performances to share with everyone so I will update frequently. All of mine will be updated on this one post so keep an eye open for that. You people don’t have to keep updating on one post if you are sharing multiple times, you may post your things anytime.

Celsius005’s Compilation

Preliminary notes: I will be sharing many things with everyone!! I will separate each one into certain categories depending on the instrumentation, whether it is a voice recording or a video, and of course what I’m performing. Please try to enjoy the entertainment that will be provided by Celsius005 and leave any comments that you wish, good or bad. I'm expecting to get very bad comments because I suck at everything I do. Some background information, I have been playing saxophone for 5 years and I won the Most Outstanding Musician Award in my school 2 years ago. I can't say the same for my piano though, I've only been playing for about 6 months without proper lessons (it's self-taught). Credit for all of these performances go to Celsius005.

ne you have your own grand piano ?... My is the baby piano lol, do you know where they give out free piano chords lessons. lol [ Kazfz forgot all her piano lessons already...havent touch it for 7 years !! ] SO i can only tell you how to make it better, a lil sensitive to tunes but not lyrics lol.
But nice one you got there !! here and there a lil off tune, have to work on there
especially when it comes to the fast part. [ I'll add my bias opinion which i think it'll be good too hehe ]
here my rank of the song you currently played

1) Final Fantasy X: To Zanarkand [ a lil mistake ]
Front part was all good, close to perfect.
For the first pause of the chorus [ 1.01mins ] :
The pause i think you need to stepped that thing [ i even forgot which one is like a break and echo.... ] ? lol not sure but i think making it a fast slience stop without echo would give a lil shocking effect when you start to play again ( and louder !! ) - i dont know if its the same as the original cos Kazfz never heard it before, but if the pause was a second or two later, it'll sound good Nod [ The back part was a lil jammy + maybe try to play softer in the front part ( i used to get scolded for playing the key at all the same level =( ... pressing everything hardly )
For the second pause [1.08 ]:
The two both hands playing does really match [ that means more practise ] and are you nervous, it went a lil weird in the back part [ dont move smoothly ]
OKAY time for bias opinion.
i wish you loop from 1.01-1.08 again before you play the rest of 1.08 lol
[ tho i doubt you would do it, it'll sound better cos the climax ended too quickly hehe Kazfz herself dont really like it ] - I love the tune of this so yup put it first and becos the front part was cool !!

2)Final Fantasy IX: Vamo alla Flamenco : I guess the part of playing too loud in the front part have spioled the climax a little.
[ 1.12-1.20 ] Much more pratise needed. hehe dont mind me, but its a lil off , this can be done by practising.
[ 1.29 - 1.34] Gotta say well done hehe omg the way you blend in the upcoming tune is good !!
Kazfz have alot to say, but that might change the tune a lil so Kazfz shall not say becos she forgot how to read chords =( ...
[2.34 - till the end ] Wasnt blending, the way you play it. Practise would make perfect ^_^
My thought on the music done
Well if its a happy song den sorry i feel sad listening to this one, people might think its a happy song cos the beats are fast but it sound like sadness filled with lies.
[ I'm happy around my love ones, and den i walk away and feels like someone is betraying me, i seek for the truth and after knowing it, in a sad way i've lost everything i treated as precious.. god, this song makes me feel bad.... flashback !!! on all those lies he/she, my loved ones have told. Lost my mind. Why am i betrayed, now im left with nothing but my seek for revenge, I'm comming for you right now and im having flashback of your lies again !! ] omg getting crazy for writting my feelings for this song right now. i give a thought that i should give my thoughts of the song i've rank 1.

Kazfz might be bias, cos i dont really like this tune but this is what i think.
3) You went off tune, the arrangement of this tune was messy, hmmm the slow part, is it suppose to be slower ?

Ok really long advise, if you have time, you can take the advise but if you don't you can throw it away, I've heard you learned it not long ago ? this is really good tho, but theres always room for improvement.... im loving the two final fantasy song tho i dont watch the anime or played the game ^_^.... ne promise me to redo hmmm the both final fantasy again please Nod cos i really love it, and the advise i gave for both, i've imagine the tune/melody, it'll might turn out good. well for now kazfz shall relearned piano and i will play it out !! omg Kazfz love piano alot hehe Laughing

Not exactly a grand piano, more digital so I can change the voices and stuff. Sorry, I don't know anything about piano lessons, I've never taken any before.

Thanks for your feedback on my piano playing, this is the first time anyone else has heard it really.
Laughing I was expecting to get low marks on all of these songs because I haven't been playing for very long at all. I just started about 6 months ago and I had no choice but to teach myself because my family can't afford such things. So yeah I know I suck compared to everyone else. Tongue

I'll redo everything some other time because I know I could have done better, sorry I have no other excuse.

well if im your piano teacher you'll be dead, your suppose to give your teacher see/hear that you've improve every lessons, + i remember the part where they say self-decipline is important in playing piano, after the practise than comes talent !! well said teacher !!
Well kazfz is not a self-decipline person + when im young i love to do the opposite of what people tell me to do, being rebel i guess....

digital !!, i beg one from my mum, she didnt wanna get it for me... im was making some tunes out of my baby piano but i didnt like others hearing it so i hope for a digital but ends up getting nothing lol.
+ Daily practise is a must and not being funny while practising + most pianist are perfectionist ?.... Don't get it right ? repeat till its right !!. Digital piano are awfully soft hehe, i like that !! but you dont know how hard it sounds right ? cause its like a press only type ? so playing on a real piano is alot better den playing on digital one, the feeling is totally different . [ try if you have one or your friends have one. ]..... and ones you da dan danggg !! the piano climax is high hehe the feeling of carrying on is good !! Laughing

[ A piano cost alot, i wish i have a grand piano alot alot alot !! ... even if i can have one i cant put it in my home !! LOL ] I wanna hear more of yours celcius kun !! wanna see improvement ^_^ Boogie

Aww thanks Kazfz chan!! Funny thing is I do practice every single day!!! Surprised

I've never said much about my personality, but I have the most self-discipline in the world probably. Since I live in a world where I am always physically alone, l have no choice but to self-discipline myself very harshly. It's tough on me, but it helps me a lot because I learn more and I can understand the work it takes to achieve something. Like for piano, I forced myself to stay awake all night for a while until I could get something correct. I did eventually but of course it took a while to learn without proper tutoring, so I've had many sleepless nights, then I had to go to school in the morning. I don't know how much better I can get at my pace, but one thing is for sure that I am devoted to continue playing because I love it so much! Love
I used to be a perfectionist in everything I do, but after recovering from certain problems I gave up doing that. My parents always wanted me to be the best, but I realize that I can't do that in everything I do....even though I am forced to do extensive studying over the summer starting when I was little, I still failed to surpass my classmates in some areas. Therefore I do what I can do, not what everyone else wants me to do. So even though I don't know how much better I can get at piano, I will continue to do it and I won't compare myself to others. Nod

Well my digital piano is very high quality, so it can do all of those cool things. It has a foot pedal too.
Kazfz chan, I think my problem is that I don't know proper techniques!!! But you know them right? If I had a teacher I would be taught these things, but I don't so that's why I randomly have sustains and other dumb things in my playing. Some tips maybe? I practice everyday and I know my problems but I don't know how to improve on these techniques! And what kind of techniques are there? I am willing to learn and get better.

Also I will be playing my farting instrument if you noticed. But you don't have to listen to that. Laughing
But if you understand anything about sax, it is VERY VERY hard to vibrato. I know a lot of people who practice sax everyday with professional tutoring for 10+ years who still can't vibrato. Keep that in mind everyone if you are going to hear me play it. Vibrato is VERY HARD!!!!

Well usually the start of the lesson, the teacher wil request you to do do re mi, " do " using right and left " re " and keep doing it over and over again..... [ this is after you know how to read the chords, i dont know so i state " 1, 2, 3, 4,5, 6, 7, 8 " lol " L1, etc... ] ... its hard for non-both handers to play piano lol cos another hand, either left or right a a lil retarded.

You are not suppose to play the piano with fingers totally stright lol, it must be bended for some reasons i don't know. hmmmm after doing warm up, don't intend to try learning more den 3 piece of music . you dont look really look at the music sheet at all when you play, you memorised it already, like this you won't go wrong.
[ Ne you can't play those songs you did just now cos, those are actually for grade 5-6th people lol... i've heard the original song just and my guess about the pause was right. And i just realise you actaully, hit and let go which isnt right. and some echo parts ?
[ sometimes you can't get a song right cos its not the same keys piano. ]
Really did it set to grand piano or something or is it a organ [cant spell so lol ] cos it doent sound like a baby piano, how many key does your piano has ?

Till now what is very extremely clear mistake and bad point about your piano playing is your stiffness of your fingers lol.... Don't Don;t expect to get where Ai is cos, it takes years to do that, thats why i judge your from a grade 1 expectation which is already beyong my expectation.

Nervousness is bad when you it comes to reciting to people. Tempo problems and stuff like that kazfz doesnt remember cos she quit it already for 7 years =(.... if you really wanna learn, try " Piano for dummies. " i might be able to get it.

I screwed up a lot with the pausing because (this is going to sound bad on my part >_<) I actually wanted it that way....well I guess I'm the only one that liked it. I'm not really trying to make it identical to originals, that's a bit boring for me.
Hmm, I do bend my fingers, but probably not enough or I'm not doing it right. I can do WAY better with tempo....I really was nervous (this is the first time recording myself)....I do memorize each song I play so no worries with that....I already know the basic Do Re Mi stuff....I have no idea about when echo is supposed to be used lol I just kind of mess around with it. Therefore my knowledge is close to nothing.

I'm not even considering going to Ai's level of playing....I understand that it's way too early for me, I'm just envious that she started playing when she was much younger and got exteremly good....something I can't hope to achieve (too late for me). I'm not really trying to go for a professional level, it's just a hobby, though I am willing to learn more to improve. Everyone has a certain goal when they play I guess....my goal is not to really be professional, I prefer my playing to be a bit more freestyle if that makes any sense. So I will play music, but change the style around a bit to the way I like it. I personally feel much happier when I play implementing my own ideas into the music instead of just copying the music exactly. Like I said, I would like to be more freestyle than professional
(yeah it sounds pathetic, but I'm happier this way).

I mean, wouldn't it be kind of boring to listen to the same song being played the same way every time by everybody? ^^This is just me, isn't it? T_T

My piano has 88 keys....with a lot of useless but cool features like changing the voices, metronome, tempo, background beats, song recording, built-in songs to listen to, etc. You'll get to see it when I get videos up. Then you can nag about how my finger positions aren't right and whatever. ^_^

UPDATE: I may get something else up today...I don't know what I feel like recording though.

omg love it, your key board !! ..... mine is probably less den 88 key. well buying a real piano cost thousands over dollar so it not worth it !!...

Kazfz really think that your piano playing is good but for the fast part, tempo is out. i dont know how to explain this but not being original, for the front part i like it, but music, by changing it/arranging it yourself might change the whole feeling of the song, im not sure if you notice that.
you can want the pause go off a lil with echo and not dang once, its just weird ?... try listening again and see if you can improve on that

Mine actually costed $500.
Don't worry, I don't normally play out of tempo....well, at least I know I can control it.
But I change the feeling of the song the way I want to express it, right? I'm not trying to steal the original song and change it around, but rather to just play it the way I feel comfortable with. I have deep respect for the composers Kondo Koji, Uematsu Nobuo, Sakuraba Motoi, AND Otsuka Ai, but as the performer I feel that I have at least some justification. Anyone can play the song exactly the way it is written, even a computer. But I feel that if I implement my own ideas into each of my performances, it shows how much I truly value the songs and respect the composers, after all I'm adding my own ideas in with theirs when I play, though the style in which I play it may go against that. My intentions are simply to have fun while playing these songs and to share my performance with others, not to show off my skills or to change the idea of the songs completely - this is my style. Thanks for your feedback though because it helps me understand a lot. Nod

Well everyone I have another song up - Tales of Symphonia: A Wood Carving Star.

ne, you should make the whole song out or rather play the whole thing, i feel like adding lyrics to that new song you put up !!

omg, i demand a full song of that right now =(.... ne you re-arrange that one too ?, close to perfect again, but the ending is too short ..... If celsius kun have the time to do this " Tales of Symphonia: A Wood Carving Star ", i would fill in the lyrics and sing of cos, it would be fun huh ?........
hmm something i've write,

My continuation of those dreams

Everytime I think about you baby
I thought you’re here once again
And Here I am alone, waiting for you
Trying to reach out for your hands
Every step, every move …. It fades away
From my eyes, baby I’m so lost
Now you are gone, Happiness fades from me
And now it’s just an empty memory of you that I’ve dream again
The continuation “ Of those dreams “
.....
I'll sing it later on, got all the tunes out, if Celcius complete the song it'll be great LOL...

@ nish: Thank you very much! Feel free to join in anytime, after all we're here to have fun. It would be great to hear your singing! Smile I'll get some more stuff in my compilation soon.

@ kazfz chan: Tales of Symphonia: A Wood Carving Star is supposed to be a short song, almost like a poem. I didn't arrange this song myself except for the ending because it ended very awkwardly. Since the song is so short like a poem, it is supposed to loop and repeat endlessly, but I didn't want ot play it forever. x . X I could have repeated the whole thing at least one more time, but due to the limited space I have on Box.net, I didn't want to take up more space than I had to (which is why I thought 1 time around the song was good enough).
I'm very sorry kazfz chan, I should have said earlier that it was more of an "in-between" song. Embarassed

I know that it was kind of short, here is the exact version I played (they don't have an official piano book for Tales of Symphonia Sad): A Wood Carving Star <--I made my own ending to prevent the awkwardness, it isn't written in there.
Here is a COMPUTER playing this exact version: Listen to it <-- I don't like the ending, it's supposed to loop.

Those are very sweet and touching lyrics, it actually fits the song very well!! As you now know though, I already played the song how it was supposed to be + an ending, therefore I need to rewrite/arrange something to add on.

Please give suggestions on how this song should be extended and I will do it for sure!! Nod

I have a new song up everyone.

Has everyone seen the Studio Ghibli animated film "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi" also known as "Spirited Away"? The song used for the ending was by Kimura Yumi, the song's name is "Itsumo Nandodemo."
