Now most of the spring dorama has finished, such as Kurosagi, Attention Please etc. and I guess all you dorama fans are waiting for the new series of summer dorama no? Let's discuss which dorama you'll be chasing this summer, some of them look really promising to me in terms of casting, story.
Here's a partial list of summer dorama '06:
My best bet will be on Taiyou no Uta, mainly because of the casting and the story. This dorama stars Yamada Takayuki and Sawajiri Erika. A movie based on the same story are currently showing in Japan starring YUI and Tsukamoto Takashi, which probably generated enough hype for this dorama to be a success. Sawajiri looks really pretty in this dorama with long silky hair, take a look at this beautiful promo image:
I'll definitely keep my eye on this dorama once it start being broadcasted in Japan. Other dorama that looks promising includes Ueto Aya's Shimokita Sunday and Itoh Misaki's Suppli, which also stars KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya (so we have Yamapi for spring and Kame for summer eh?).
I guess I'll probably just go after these 3 doramas for this summer, what about you guys? |

I can't wait for My Boss, My Hero to come out since it has Nagase Tomoya who is always so funny in his dramas and movies (especially Mayonaka no Yajisan Kitasan).
Taiyou no Uta sounds good, too. Erika Sawajiri was really good in Shinobi, and Tsukamoto Takashi makes it more promising. |

Well, I promised myself not to watch J-Dorama this season because I have university entrance exams coming up, but I think I'll have to download and archive away Suppli, simply because my friend would probably want me to watch it, and Taiyou no Uta, because of the connection to YUI.
Too bad Yamapi has no dorama this season. |

So Shimokita Sundays has Kamenashi Kazuya huh?! I'll do more research on the drama since I like Kame. Or was it Suppli with Kame?! I think Kame is avery good actor and Singer that's why the drama's that he's been in seem very interesting.
Thank you for the list of Doramas Eyn, and Good luck with those entrance Exams HilaryDuff Fanboy! |

I'm going for "Suppli", "Shimokita Sundays" and "My Boss, My Hero"
1) Suppli: mainly to see my dear kame-kun! he is finally not acting as a student anymore~ now this I gotta see~ and I like to watch "office romance", this drama should be interesting.
2) Shimokita Sundays: as a aya-chan fan, her drama is a must watch thing. the storyline looks pretty interesting~
3) My Boss, My Hero: I like Yui Aragaki, she seems to have a pretty big role this time. and its suppose to be a comedy...like Gal Circle, thought I'll give it a try~ |

For me, I'd like to watch Taiyou no Uta the most. The reason must be because of Yamada and Sawajiri. I cannot remember when was the first time I watched his dramas but the one that catched my eyes most probably be H2. Since then, I've watched many dramas of him. About Sawajiri, I really impressed with her from 1 Litre of Namida. She was pretty and pity in that drama. I couldn't stop crying when I watched this drama. So with these two actors, I think Taiyou no Uta must be one of good dramas this summer.
Besides, I like to watch Shimokita because of Ueto Aya, and Suppli because of Ito Misaki. I'm a fan of both actresses. They're both charming and talented. I hope these two will be good dramas too.
I also would like to watch My Boss, My Hero. I looked at the list of the cast and felt like this may be interesting drama. Therefore, I would love to watch it if I can.
Lastly, "Dare yori mo, mama wo ai suru" is the one drama I like to take a look too. I don't really fell similar to the cast but this drama seems to be a very heartwarming one. So, I may be nice to watch this kind of drama sometimes to cheer up. |

| I don't usually watch J-dramas because downloading big things kills me, but I'm in Japan now for 3 weeks so I suppose I'll be watching some. XD Too bad I won't be here for long enough to see the whole show. >_> |

| I just found out Matsuda Shota is in Regatta yesterday. Now it is completely worth watching, lol. And I didn't know Moccomichi was the guy with the big hair in there until I actually paid attention to what it was saying, haha. |

I think I will go for Taiyou no Uta first, mainly because for giving the support to my favourite dorama artist Yamada kun, and Sawajiri Erika. I think the story will be good too.
By the way, I wonder you guys still remember a dorama that cast by Takuya Kimura and Takako Matsu, HERO. That was one the greatest dorama by Takuya, and I believe some of you guys should watch it before. Now Japan just release HERO 2006 Special, hope you guys will love it too! |

Really?! I loved his performance in Hana Yori Dango, even if it wasn't that much. He has a line of actors I heard so even his first drama wasn't that bad.Hmmmm, Now that seems a lot more interessting. I might be watching it. Does someone know where i can get subs?!
P.S. Was I allowed to ask that?! (about the subs?!) |

Nice one guys, I see I'm not the only one gearing up for the new season. Here's my personal list in case anyone wants to see what I have to recommend.
To start things off, I think I will be definately joining everyone in watching 'Taiyou no Uta'. I recently bought the DVD off amazon.co.jp (sorry eyn, I looked on YesAsia but they haven't stocked it yet and I've been waiting for the DVD for so long, plus it was so much cheaper ) and am really looking forward to watching Yamada Takayuki in the drama. I have really come to appreciate him as an actor after SekaiChu, DenshaOtoko and Byakuyakou. Plus, I'm looking forward to see how well he works with Sawajiri Erika, as soon as I saw the announcement for this drama I felt so wrong because he should be working with Ayase Haruka, they go well together imo. But Sawajiri Erika is good actress too and is very pretty too, so it's ok. Besides I've had my Ayase Haruka fix with the Hero Special, which was too cool. I'm so happy the bar tender made a cameo....yey! "Aru yo!"
I will also be watching 'My Boss My Hero' because I'm a succer for high school dramas. My high school years were awesome and I like watching these dramas because they take me back. Plus, I really like the concept, it's like Gokusen gone all wrong! I saw the first episode the other day, sure the flying was a little unreal (I'm a physicist, his math was right but in the end I wasn't convinced ). It looks to be a promising story though.
I will also be watching "Hanayome wa Yakudoshi". It stars the same actress as Anego and seems like an interesting story. I really enjoyed the first episode and am looking forward to the next one.
Another great one I saw this season was 'Fushin no Toki'. I doubt many people here will enjoy this drama because it's more of an adult themed (adult as in grown up and not H) drama involving married couples and affairs and seemed interesting. Quite a few cringe moments as the stupid man sways down the wrong path... Those who saw 'Konya Hitori no Beddo de' will know what this is like when I say that this one is sort of similar.
And last but not the least, 'CA to Oyobi', looks interesting, I saw the first episode and it stars a few good actors and actresses, which I'm not complaining about and the story seems strong. I will be watching this series intently and hoping it gets better.
PS Rashoumon seemed slightly silly, kind of a manga anime made live action gone all wrong. Too many plot holes, shiny cars and unrealistic cops. I may watch another episode or two but I don't see this going anywhere.
This week, Regatta, Shimokita Sundays, and Dandori start, all three of which I'm looking forward to. Why? Regatta = Aibu Saki, Shimokita Sundays = Ueto Aya, Dandori = An entire High School Cheerleading Team (based on a true story, the team won the ESPN competition in America).
So those are what I'm watching. Seems like a lot, but considering that apart from those, I only watch Bleach, Blood+, Major, SMAPxSMAP and Music Station, and nothing else, not even normal TV (except the news everymorning), it's not like it's going to take up a lot of my time.
And hopefully I'll be in Japan starting September, so I might get to finish this season on TV in Japan.. *fingers crossed*
I hope everyone enjoys this drama season. o-tanoshimi ni!!!
