I knew something was happening this September the 9th!! I just didn't know if it was a concert or a function or anything.
ANYWAY, I am pleased to tell you guys that Otsuka Ai will be holding a concert to commemorate her third year in the entertainment business, and also, her 24th birthday!!
Momo no Hanabira's official release date was Wednesday 10/09/03, but was on sale since 09/09/03, so this IS her 3rd anniversary right on the dot!
Tickets, I assume, are already on sale for fanclub members, where as sale to the general public starts on 26th of August, so evidently, Otsuka Ai most probably wants her devoted fans to snag the tickets as they deserve so!

This is seriously awesome, and just goes to show how much we mean to Otsuka Ai, and how much she Cherish's us fans. I bet if Otsuka Ai had it her way and not Avex's, who knows, it may have been a free concert.
Is there a chance that this will make it to DVD? I say yes, since it's Avex and all, but don't get your hopes up. I'll say this though. In the past, w-inds. held a fanclub exclusive concert, and a DVD was released, but only to fanclub members.

Hmm... I haven't been a fan ever since her debut in 2003, but I assume that this is her first time throwing an event like this? Indeed, such great news, and it just shows how far she has gone since her debut. 
I feel so happy for her that she can celebrate her birthday while holding an event commemorating her third year in music! It makes me think though...

Hibiya Large Music Hall... I believe that is in Tokyo.
Since this is celebrating her entire career's worth of accomplishments, I'm sure we can all expect something *very* nostalgic.  |

i half expected something to happen on this day too!!
i can imagine the dvd being only on sale for fanclub members though T_T but just the fact that she's having a concert like this makes me happy!!

I hope there's a DVD for this event too^^ Since ai-chin care too much abt her fans, I hope she'll think about our over-sea fans as well, and the DVD (if there is) not only release for her fans in japan^^

Thanks for the great news HilaryDuffFanboy! Although most of us can't attend it, but just hearing plans for it makes me feel good. This is a definitly a great way to start the day!
I agree with HilaryDuffFanboy and LVXS, this is probably going to be release on DVD, but only avilable to her fan club.

third concert for three years! wow, looking back...ai achieved a whole lot in just three years! even running on for j-pop queen too...but she doesnt look 24, nor does she normally act 24  ai is way to cute to be presumed in her mid 20's already |

Eh, I don't have much to say here, but according to the LOVE9CUBE section on Ai's official Avex website, tickets were available for the fanclub members between July 12th - July 18th 2:00p.m.. Lucky them.
I'd like to know just how many were sold within that time.  |

wow, great news, thanks for this HilaryDuffFanboy , I wish I could have a change attend at the concert, it's mean so much us (the fans) and Ai-chan. I hope there'll be a DVD for it, not only for fanclub members but also the oversean fans, if not, at least someone can make fancam videos and pics at the concert as much as possible.
since I've been a fan of Ai-chan since 2003, I wonder if she usually do special things like this every year. |

It's been a while since there's any update on this thread. In the latest official site news it's stated that Ai-chin will be singing her unreleased new song called "BABASHI no teemu" (Babashi's theme) in her birthday concert. What's Babashi you asked? No idea, maybe it's a Japanese slang or something she make up herself! 
According to the same source, this song will be used as the CM song for Ai-chin's official fanclub CM starring Ai herself. It will be interesting to see what are they planning for the CM.
On the new "Renai Shashin" single page they also stated that one extra bonus live track will be recorded, I'm thinking they probably planned to record "BABASHI no teemu" when Ai sing it on her birthday concert. Anyway, it's just my speculation. |

Wait, I take that back! Maybe it's not a new word... 
I really think Babashi is someone's name! Since Ai is releasing a b-side called Hanikami Jane, I don't really find it surprising for her to have another song naming a person in the title. Perhaps it's the complement of her upcoming b-side; after all, that's what happened with tears and Momo no Hanabira. Going along with that last bit eyn said, I suppose this idea can actually be supported.  |
