It's winter here..... but who cares?
o1. Sakuranbo- Otsuka Ai
People might say it's more of a Spring song, but it rocks my summer!
o2. BLUE BIRD - Ayumi Hamasaki
Obviously! I didn't like it too much when I first heard it, but I love it so much now.
o3. Fairyland - Ayumi Hamasaki
Best summer song ever. Love the PV. I'm totally feeling the summer.
o4. Taste Your Stuff - m-flo loves BENNIE K
Really awesome beat. I remember being obsessed with this song while walking home from school each day in the hot sun.
o5. HAVA RAVA - WaT
Fun fun fun summer song on crack. Just check out the PV. Wentz and Teppei are so cute, which make it even better, and their nasal pre-pubescent voices, make this an awesome summer song.
o6. Kisses Everywhere - Miriam Yeung
This song is one of her best mid-tempo songs. It's got a really really nice beat to it and is a good deviant from her usual ballads.
o7. Love's Theme Song - Elva Siu
EVERYBODY GET UP AND HIT THE DANCEFLOOR.
edit
o8. Ho! Summer - Tackey & Tsubasa
Um, this song is so so so fun. Just discovered it yesterday. Watch the PV, my friend's friend describes Tackey & Tsubasa as "The Newlyweds. |

01. Ningyo Hime - Koda Kumi
My favorite song. It's absolutely magnificent and the best from 4 hot wave.
02. Mermaid Story - sifow
So hyper, addictive lyrics.
03. I'll be there - Koda Kumi
Woo~~, beautiful video and wonderful song, second best from 4 hot wave.
04. Apple ~aka Ringo~ - sifow
*sniff* So sad..
05. LOVE & PEACE - sifow
The most energy-packed song ever! Gives me an summer-feeling too.
So only sifow and Koda Kumi this summer!! Sorry about my summaries of why it is on that place are pretty lame, i didn't know anything else to write.. |

hmm interesting...
01. Good-bye Days / Skyline - YUI
I absolutely adore this single, neither is a perticularly summery track though. I think because both those songs remind me of the movie and the movie was great, i was really impressed with YUI's performance. And Skyline because of the awesome lyrics - the lyrics for both songs infact scream Amane Kaoru...
02. invitation - Shibasaki Kou
OK, I'm seeing a pattern here this song is the OP to the Taiyou no Uta TV Drama but that's besides the point. I'm a huge Shibasaki Kou fan and this song is so summery. I've been listening to it a lot, it's on my mp3 player and I listen to it everyday on my way to work, occassionaly pressing the rewind button at the end of the song to listen to it again ^_^
03. So Exclusive - m-flo loves Sowelu
A friend recommended I listen to m-flo's BEAT SPACE NINE album which I did. Before that I'd only heard one song out of that album, m-flo loves Rie fu, but when I heard this album, I liked it especially the BENNIE K and Sowelu collaborations. The song So Exclusive is very summery indeed.
04. Shabondama - Otsuka Ai
I'm having one of my Shabondama relapses. I love that song so much. I listen to it again and again and again and then don't listen to it for a while and then relapse into it... i love that song. just like the video, it is in fact the best song to listen to early in the morning when the world is still asleep and the sun is just rising...
05. SMAP - Nai Yai Yai
I first heard this song on SMAPxSMAP and liked it, then I heard it on Music Station recently, and who?what? gaah/// too late, it's on my mp3 player it is a very summery song, and i have to admit i do like it.... orz
06. June Afternoon - Roxette
My birthday falls in June, and every year, as soon as June begins, I start listening to this song. It makes me feel like summer has finally arrived. Especially here in the UK where it only starts getting warm around end-May, June...

o1. BLOOD on FIRE - AAA ; it seems like such an uptight song I love it and the english makes me laugh so hard. 'Come on come on every naughty boys~'
o2. Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader ; I always listen to this song at night. It's happy but then it depresses me because it reminds me the first time i played this song x__x.
o3. Chemicals React - Aly&AJ ; Very radio friendly and summery song. I love it ^^.
o4. Fairyland - Ayumi Hamasaki ; Like HilaryDuffFanboy, best summer song ever! It's so happy and I'm like *wheeee* everytime I listen to it.
o5. STARSTRUCK - M-Flo ; It's hard not to love this song because it's just too awesome. I always start dancing in my seat or rolling around the room dancing to the song haha |

These are all especially the songs that were popular when I was in Japan in July. This is more of a Japan trip soundtrack, but it works. XP
(not in order)
o1. SunMin thanX Kubota- Keep Holding U
I have no idea who these people are, but this song was EVERYWHERE because it's the theme song of the movie Nihon Chinbotsu. I must say it's a great song.
o2. Morning Musume- Ambitious! Yashinteki de Iijan!
How can I have a list without my beloved Momusu? XD Summer MM songs are always favorites, and this one is no exception. It's really a great song, not to mention the last one of Asami and Makoto, and graduation songs are always memorable ones.
o3. Kumi Koda- I'll be there
I must say, recently I've been quite a fan of her. Sure, she's a bit... yeah... but she's got a wonderful voice! She has so much talent hiding behind.. um, nothing, I guess, lmao. XD But this is just such a wonderful summer song. It's so calm and relaxing. She needs to make more songs like this!
o4. SMAP- Dear WOMAN
Um, it's not like I really adore them or anything (they're pretty cool), but this song was EVERYWHERE!!!! The "welcome youkoso nihon e" part, basically. XD Lots of CMs and such.
o5. KAT-TUN- Signal
First off: I LOVE KAT-TUN. Yeah, I've been converted. Anyways, not only was this song on all the DoCoMo commercials, the single itself had its own commercial on 24/7, so that helped. XD But this is suuuch a great song! I absolutely love it. (I even bought it, ZOMG!) |

Um... well, this is more like a "what I've been listening to lately" list rather than a summer soundtrack, because two months is quite a long time XD
o1. ZONE - H.A.N.A.B.I ~kimi ga ita natsu~
>> For obvious reasons. It's just such an awesome, rock-out summer song. I love ZONE.
o2. Ai-chin - Yumekui
>> XD Yeah, we all know how much it rocks. Not strictly a summer song, but WHO CARES
o3. CLAZZIQUAI Project - Love Mode (feat. Tablo)
>> Not a word, eyn >.> I love them. What can I say? Just a wonderful catchy love song. It makes me feel all bubbly inside
o4. Teshima Aoi - Teru no Uta
>> It's zyzzyva's fault, I swear Such a beautiful and addicting song. It kind of reminds me of LotR or Mononoke-hime.
o5. Asami Izawa - Orange Sunshine
>> Produced by CLAZZIQUAI Project I swear, NO ONE's heard of her, except for some people on Jpopmusic.com It's a jazzy, summery song, kind of R&B-ish. Love her voice, although she pronunces things a bit strangely
o6. m-flo loves HInouchi Emi and Ryohei - Summer Time Love
>> Again, for obvious reasons. Great summer beat, although I have to say that Verbal's like 3-hour long rap at the beginning is annoying... XD *skip skip*
o7. the TRAX - Joh Woo (First Rain)
>> *sigh* It's such a beautiful ballad, but I still miss their old rock style... Torn between two genres, lol. Dunno which side of them to be loyal to
o8. SMTOWN - Yonyega (Red Sun)
>> My addiction. It's such an awesome catchy summer song (I keep saying that) with a fun MV, although the background sucks arse - it's just.... FAKE. But whatever, I love this song. I think I've listened to it at least 50 times in a row, lol. |

o1. Yumekui
In a matter of months this song reached the top five at my last.fm. I simply love the melody. It's so relaxing and has good an extremely hopeful melody. At some stress-filled days where I had work, I was extremely tired and ended up listening this song to relax
o2. OLIVIA inspi'REIRA (TRAPNEST) - a little pain
This song's novelty will probably never wear away. It doesn't sound summerish at all but I simply love the whole song to bits. I also am still really happy at OLIVIA's comeback so you can imagine how many times a day I play this song!
o3. Ayumi Hamasaki - BLUE BIRD
Another great song. I love how much it reminds me of tropical summer where everything is so fresh and perfect...
o4. Kumi Koda- I'll be there
I don't really like Kumi but I have to admit this song is so uplifting and lively. I really enjoyed watching the pv too, even if it looked like BLUE BIRD Version 2.
o5. LOVE&PEACE
This is a purely fun loving summer song which gets me in an excellent mood. I really love this song because it has got a distinctive aura for itself. |

cool thread. Let's see, all summer I've been listening to HYDE's FAITH album nonstop. But besides him...
(not in order)
1) L'Arc~en~Ciel - snow drop [ray mix]
I know that it's a winter song, but it's one of the best songs of all time. I love the lyrics, and I got in the mood for that song so much this summer. XD
2) Bonnie Pink - jinsei GEEMU
I love this girl, that's all I can say. This song really gets me in such a happy mood 'cause of it's beat. I think it's awesome for summer!
3) S.O.A.P - Every second, I'm in ROMANCE
Best song EVAR. Period.
4) OLIVIA inspi' REIRA (TRAPNEST) - a little pain
I love this song so much! Besides the fact that it's OLIVIA, I think the quality of her ballads are improving tremendously, and they (for the most part) have always been outstanding (Space Halo and Ballerina, anyone?)
5) sifow - Jewel
This girl just reminds me of good ol' JPop. It's so nice, and the electric beats rock for summer.
6) HYDE - SHALLOW SLEEP
...does this awesome song need an explanation? That right mix of acoustic, electric, pop, rock and ballad come together to form an amazing song that even my suitemates dance along too.
7) the pillows - I think I can
Haha, the pillows are just fun! Awesome alt-rock group that I rediscovered after not listening to them for a couple of months. XD;;;
8) REMIOROMEN- gogetsu ame
My favorite song off their 'ether' album. w00t. I love the whole feel, and how it purposely feels hollow in some parts. And the bouncy chorus is so summer, even if it's not that summery. XD
And I think that's enough. |

I typically don't like to rank my songs, so this list isn't organized in any way.
o1. Do As Infinity- TAO
This song stays with me everywhere I go, no matter the situation. It's a song about parting from your friends, and it conveys many emotions at once, I think. I may find the whole idea rather saddening, but the song lifts my mood at the same time and makes me feel as though I can continue moving onward in life without regrets. It's a song I would listen to while gazing at the sky. I absolutely love lying in a grassy, open field just staring at the blue sky--an endless sea, forever untamed, as nature's euphoria...
o2. Tsuji Ayano- Kaze ni Naru
Neko no Ongaeshi, anyone? Anyway, this song is perfect for me when I'm taking my usual walks. It's a very clean and inspiring song, I believe, and it reminds me of... cats.
o3. SMAP- Dear WOMAN
Of course I'm going to include this song! Wouldn't we all like to be in Japan right now? Well yes, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon, so I'll just listen to this song in the mean time. Dear WOMAN is an upbeat song that is suitable for the summer, but isn't necessarily restricted to that alone (another song I'd listen to anytime). Call it whatever you want, but I think SMAP's dancing has a dashing effect on the overall feeling of this song.
o4. SMAP- $10
An overall catchy song combined with intense energy creates this. This is definitely my favorite of SMAP's earlier songs.
o5. Otsuka Ai- Natsuzora
Despite the fact that it's written all over the title, I consider this a summer staple. I like to enjoy this song while looking at the blue sky, along with TAO. So beautiful...
o6. Otsuka Ai- Sensu
This is another song I like to listen to while taking a long walk, especially on a hot day. It also keeps me in a pensive mood.
o7. Tales of Legendia- The Birds Chirp, I Sing
Yes, Tales of Legendia is a videogame, but its soundtrack is beyond godly. This is one of the few tracks with vocal, but the lyrics are indistincty in a fictional language. There are several arrangements of this melody throughout the OST, but this is the most powerful by far. As a side note, TAO is this game's theme song. |

uhm let me see...
Ayu didn't make it to my list ...
01. OLIVIA inspi' REIRA - a little pain
The song and the video are so beautiful... They mean a lot to me. This song has stayed in my favorites list for more than two months now, which is big for me because I keep changing that list almost everyday.
02. ANNA inspi' NANA - Lovin' you
The same as a little pain. I relate so much to this song. The first time I heard it I thought: "Woah... That is exactly what I feel"
03. Koda Kumi - I'll be there
I love 4 hot wave and this is my favorite song from that single xD
04. Ai Otsuka - Cherish
This is THE song of both my Spring and Summer soundtrack. One of my favorite songs EVER from Ai-chin. It has a lot of meaning to me.
05. Koda Kumi - Hot Stuff feat. KM-MARKIT
I just simply love it |

A lot of people mentioned Kuu-chan's "I'll be there"
well since I'm on an old thread resurrection spree I may as well say something, haha
01. Natsuzora Graffiti - ikimonogakari
It's such a cheerful summer song, so uplifting and the melody is just wonderful.
02. Lick me ♥ / Hashire! - Koda Kumi
well what can I say? these songs have gotta be THE summer songs (of this summer ). everything about then makes me think about the warm weather, the beach, eating ice cream on a hot day (hence the title for "Lick me ♥, it's about licking ice cream and not licking sduaiduashdsaljsf ) and Hashire! is just totally groovy (I just said groovy, may God strike me down now.) okay, since God didn't strike me down I will continue.
03. Happy Days - Ai Otsuka
a classic. never gonna get old or annoying (it eventually might after a really long time, but then again I'm not playing it for that long)
04. I'll be there ...
haha no.
04. Finger 5 Medley - misono
This song just gives me a feeling of being a little kid again, waiting for the final bell before summer vacation to ring so you could run outside, onto the bus and once you're at home, you call up all your best buds and have a water balloon fight. plus the fact that it's pretty much 7 tons of fun helps a lot.
05. GIRLY/pretty voice/Sakuranbo/Momo no Hanabira - that undeniably adorable girl that we all love and that this forum is basically about
I honestly couldn't decide. All four of them are such GREAT summer songs. and it helps that they all come after one another in the LOVE PUNCH album...on a side note, LOVE PUNCH seriously has "I AM A SUMMER ALBUM LISTEN TO ME KTHXBYE" written all over it. all of the tracks are so summery and sweet. but these four tracks definitely are the most obvious ones that come to mind.
(sorry that was so long.) |
