Ayumi fans and more recently Koda Kumi fans should be quite familiar with this.
Each year an award is given out to a male and female celebrity who best wears jeans. Kimura Takuya (SMAP) has won it four times and is in the Hall of Fame (and therefore can't win it again), and Ayu won it five times in six years, 2000-2005 (lost in '02) and is also in the Hall of Fame and therefore can't win it again. This year it was Kamenashi Kazuya (KAT-TUN) and Koda Kumi that won it.
ANYWAY MOVING ON. Otsuka Ai was placed 5th with 4,096 votes.
Best Jeanist 2006 Results
Congratulations to Ai-chin, she loves the casual look and wears jeans quite often, so well deserved! I am disappointed that Koda Kumi won not only because I think she doesn't wear clothes that much, but also because aiko, who came in 2nd, MUST win it at least once because she wears jeans as much as Ayu does, maybe even more! My friend who watched the award ceremony also tells me that Koda Kumi's jeans had a hole in "the most inappropriate place" at the award ceremony. 
ANYHOW, I hope Ai-chin can someday win this award.  Just for fun.  |

Congrats to Ai! 5th place isn't great, but definitly not bad! At least she's getting notice.
Not to be a bad sport or anything, but I think this is more of a popularity thing. I don't recall the last time that Koda Kumi wore jeans. Dress, skirts, shorts, etc. yes. But jeans? |

Still, no matter how silly the polls and contests are (remember the doctor one?), it's still nice to see Ai making top appearances!

| I've raised this subject at AHS. Personally I don't think Kumi deserved to win this award. Since when has she been wearing jeans? Personally I feel it's becoming more of a popularity contest. Anyhow I'm glad Ai-chin got the 5th place. |

Yeah! Go Ai! 5th place is okay with me. She doesn't have to be the best everytime, right? (though it'd be cool if she was) 
Besides, I love wearing jeans. It's probably the only kind of pants I ever wear. XD |

That's my question. I like Koda's casual fashion sense and all (koi no~ cover) but I don't recall her wearing jeans...
But I wish Ayu could win again. She I like her jeans <_<. But I like Ai's jeans too XD |

| My opinion, Otsuka should have higher place than Koda or Aiko because she is famous for wearing jeans and they are not! Top three for jeans, my opinion: Otsuka, Maiko Sakae of Maria and ZONE, and PUFFY (Ami and Yumi both!) |

Yeah, I agree that Ai should been higher. Haha, for my choice for pants in general I would put Takayo (ex-ZONE) since she wore a lot of cool clothes such as casual and vkei.

I'm so used to seeing Ayu winning this award, that I'd nearly forgotten it existed for other artists! Ai got 5th place! Congrats to her! Is this the first time that she's been included/won an spot?
I don't think Kumi should have gotten #1, though. There are many other artists, not just Ai, that deserve that spot. I have no hate for Kumi, I just can't think of too many times when I've seen her jeans. (The only thing I can think of, are a few pictures in her MAROC photobook, and an extremely holey pair at a-nation.) Sure she wears denim, but it's usually in the form of shorts and skirts. 
I'm also happy to see Aya Ueto at #3. She's so cute! |

I think Takayo is best for dress from ZONE. She is making solo album now, I saw this on the management company web site, it will release soon. |
