Exactly how many of us here visit Neopets? It's a fun, interactive virtual pet site filled with games and uh... neopets! I'm sure there's someone else besides me who goes here; it's pretty popular and is a fun way to kill time.. sometimes.
Anyway, I ask because I've been thinking: since there's already a Channel-Ai community at Last.fm and LiveJournal, why not have one somewhere else? Yes, it HAD to be Neopets. Apparently neopets owners can choose to create ONE guild or join ONE guild, so I hope those of us (if any) who are neopetters haven't joined one yet. The name will be, of course, Channel-Ai!
I haven't created it yet simply because I'd like to consult with others about the layout, location, hierarchy, etc. here so eh.. let's work together... ?
[if not, I'll just make it for the heck of it]
btw, my name there is celsius005 and I have a Lupe named Fenrir005. |

Oh me me me! I played neopets since... 2001? Lol yeah, something like that.
I'm currently in a firend's guild on my main account (which had been inactive since we grad from high school 3 years ago... ) So anyway, I love this idea! We can dominate neopets with a new channel-ai guild! If someone creates a channel-ai guild, I'll definitly join
As for the detail stuff, I think we should decide on a location first. I was thinking of Air Faerie Cloud, but that place is over loaded. Then there's the Symphony Shire, but will that be a little too chessy?
By the by, my main account is joyfulpup. |

Sweetness! Let's get started then!
Air Faerie Cloud would've been nice! Indeed, I suppose we shouldn't set it somewhere as overloaded (Cute City is bursting! ). Symphony Shire seems like the best choice for now; after all, it's music related, no? This leaves us with the technical stuff like color schemes and layouts, along with the privacy setting...
I was thinking of making this a private guild, but what do you all think? Any level of security would be nice since it'll prevent random people from barging in, and I think you all very well know how competitive and (I shouldn't really be saying this) rude some people can be on there. I've seen it happen a lot.
It appears we can use our own colors using the appropriate HTML, but we can also customize the layout even after the guild is established. My plan is to set up the guild once the fundamentals are decided upon, and then we can mess around with the colors later. Feel free to give color suggestions now if you wish so we can have something interesting to start out with.
Last comes the hierarchy. This is the default list... any suggestions for ranks?
Guild Council 1 Leader
Guild Council 2 Master
Guild Council 3 Secretary
Guild Council 4 Treasurer
Guild Council 5 Spokesperson
Guild Member 1 Sage
Guild Member 2 Wizard
Guild Member 3 Guru
Guild Member 4 Apprentice
Guild Member 5 Trainee
I thought it'd be nice to have each member just choose what his/her rank will be since the admin will have complete control over the names anyway. I don't know, I think it would be more enjoyable for members to choose their own rank name.
Yay, let's be neofriends! |

Well, here's an idea about the rank. I'm assuming that the hierarchy isn't just limited to 5 [guild member] level, is it? If it's not, then why don't we rank it by people's username on ch-ai? That way people don't have to pull their hair out to think of a new rank. Plus other people will be able to know who you are on reading without asking.
What's the difference between private and public guild? |

Ah, I see. Using our forum names sounds like a good idea!
According to this Guild FAQ there are only 5 positions available for Council members, but I don't think it ever stated the limit to regular members. I see that some guilds have 10+ members, so we can assume there is no limit. When creating a guild, they only give us 10 positions to start out with, but I think the guild's admin will be able to create more ranks as more members join. Nice call.
If we set up a private guild, members must be personally invited to join, and the guild itself will not be publicly displayed in the neighborhood... Wait a minute. We can't really dominate Neopets unless we make this public, can we? It doesn't really matter if random people join because the admin will be able to monitor members in the message boards and such. No worries there; perhaps we SHOULD make it public. |

Wow.
Wow.
When I read this I instantly choked up all my drink (which is "fizzy") up my nose. Which is actually quite fun.
I remember neopets! In second grade I played it with my bestest friends... and, we like LOOOOOOVED neomail. But obviously I sucked at typing so I had to have my sister help me type it, lol. Anyways, then a year ago I decided to make another account just for like... well, it is kind of like "spamming" as you can say. Lol, you know like how you like to do things that were like funny or lame from the past? (Well maybe only I like to do that and I've done things like playing with rocks, again, lol) Well, that's when that was borned. But after a week I stopped using it.
And on the idea of group" (Sorry if it is getting offtopic...) someone should make a myspace or xanga one, since it seems very popular among users.
By the way, you can have as many members that join. I know some Vk ones have over a hundred members. Lol, don't ask how I know. |

If the location of the guild is decided, I think we should create it first, and take it from there. The thing is, the neopets FAQ can only act as a guide as to what to expected. With an actual guild, we can test out things here and there.
What we can do is make the guild private, while we're still setting things up (layout, position, council, etc.) Then when the guild is set, we can make it public. While on the topic of public vs. private, I think we should can the guild public. Like Celsius said, the admin can choose to remove/ban members, etc.
The thing is, there doesn't seem to be too much neopets user here (I thought there would be more members...) And it seems kind of awkward create a guild and there's only 4 of us in the guild
And by the by tsumetai.ame, there is a blogring on xanga |

Well there are many many guilds that have only one or two members. It's not so much of an issue however; I'm sure more will join over time if they are interested or notice this (whichever case it may be). Surely we can get by for now.
I agree, perhaps we should set up the guild first. One thing: who's going to be the admin? I may be mistaken but the creator of the guild by default is the admin, right? I don't think the admin's position can be replaced either, so we need to think this over. Gee, I could try to take up that position, but I know I don't have the skills to make an awesome layout. As you probably already guessed, I am very unfamiliar with HTML. Sorry guys. |

I haven't played in a long time.. I'm gonna check if my account still exists and then maybe I'll join this.
EDIT: Anyone know why I can't login!
- Ender username (check)
- Enter password (check)
- Enter password again and birthday, what? < I did that but it stays on this page, it doesn't say incorrect password or anything it just refreshs the page. |

R_Hikki, I'm not exactly sure what the cause is but it could be possible that the login page you are using is a fake. When logging in, be sure the URL says http://www.neopets.com/loginpage.phtml, otherwise it may be a fake login created by hackers to steal your account info. Supposedly this has been happening lately so be on the lookout for anything suspicious. Accounts don't get deleted for any reason, do they? If the Neopets administrators deleted inactive accounts, I'm sure they'd inform you. I hope this helps. |

As far as I know, neopets doesn't delete any inactive accounts. They freezed accounts, but don't really delete it. As Celsius said, make sure you're are at the login page with the neopets url. If it still doesn't work, you can always email them and see what's going on
Who becomes the admin/creater of the guild isn't a big issue. Because the admin can give admin power to council members. But I guess with school just starting and all, it's going to be hard to set up a guild and maintain it now ne? |

So there can be multiple admins then... I suppose it all works out. Yeah school's definitely a problem but we have all the time we need, right? We can take our time with this. I'm now up to my neck in school/independent studies so there really isn't much time. I can create it in a jiffy though it won't be updated..
Okay guys, I made it already! You can visit it here. (it's set to private for now)
Aprilis., it's just as you said. We can manage everything from here so let's try and work something out. Time for members here to assemble! |
