Tamaki Hiroshi (26)

Synopsis
On the day of his university entrance ceremony, shutterbug Makoto (Tamaki) meets a fresh-faced, quirky girl named Shizuru (Miyazaki). He has a complex which causes him to shy away from contact with other people, but she succeeds in getting him to open up to her naturally. All Shizuru wants is to be with Makoto, so she takes up a camera too. The two spend their days together taking photos in the forest behind the campus. However, Makoto has feelings for another student named Miyuki (Kuroki Meisa). Shizuru decides that if Makoto likes Miyuki, she wants to like her too. She wants to like everything that he does. One day, she tells Makoto that she wants to take a photo of them kissing in the forest for a competition. He obliges for her sake, and they kiss in the forest for the first time. However, from that day on, Shizuru disappears from Makato's life...

Eyn has kindly uploaded a direct download for the Chinese-subbed version of the movie. So for those of you that can read Chinese, feel free to download it and watch it. It's a pretty good movie although not amazing. Aoi Miyazaki is very cute. x3

I shoulda waited one more day shouldn't I (for the subs)?
Oh well, I watched the Chinese sub version last night and got the gist of what was going on and cried buckets at the end.
I watched it w/ English subs (I ended up going to another source last night) just now and cried buckets again XD I just can't win.
But yea I've been waiting to watching this movie forever. I've heard about it way back last year in early May I think when details were just starting to come out and the movie was still in production mode.
It's been worth the wait. I just watched Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu recently and it made me want to watch this movie even more since both movies are based on novels by the same writer. I can't say that I want to compare the two movies. They are both love theme based but the story is different enough that I wouldn't want to compare them.
I like how this movie turned out though. Gotta adore Aoi Miyazaki and admire her acting at the same time.
Oh and I don't know a whole lot about various birds, but does anyone have any idea as to what kind of bird it was that appeared in the movie? |

Thanks for the link caffeinated, and eyn for uploading it I finally got a chance to watch it the other day and I thought it was okay. I didn't cry, maybe it's because I watched the movie in parts. |

Beware that there might be spoilers since I'm gonna be talking about behind the scenes stuff from the movie.
I managed to snag a first press of the premium edition to this DVD the day it came out (the first press includes a photobook and a replica of the tegami that Makoto got from Shizuru (that green envelope with the clover sticker on the back and the letter inside) but didn't get it till yesterday. I was just watching the second DVD with all the behind the scenes stuff. The first one interviewed all the major actors in the movie the two main characters and the five people that went to post secondary school with Shizuru and Makato. That was a bit lost on me since I don't know enough Japanese to know what they said word for word. But it was pretty neat to see what the actors felt about certain scenes or certain lines (like that "I want the person I love to fall in love with the person he loves") and the roles they played and how they felt about the character they were portraying.
But what shocked me the most was that the pictures taken in the gallery for Shizuru's exhibition in the end were pictures (maybe not all of them but for sure most) taken with the exact Canon camera that was in the movie (the one Shizuru/Aoi Miyazaki was using). In part 2 of behind the scenes (the more interesting part IMO) they show Aoi Miyazaki actually using that camera with different high powered lenses. She took those pictures of Makoto/Tamaki Hiroshi and she took pictures of various people in New York. On the DVD, they made it seem like she kind of just pulled random people off the stress of New York to do that but I'm not a 100% sure about that. And the photobook that came with the DVD are those exact pictures.
But yea just an interesting tidbit that I thought I'd share with you guys.
Oh and the forest they used ... from the sound of the interview with Aio, it sounds like it was in Okinawa. |

Aoi is so beautifullll. (:

&hopefully no one will interupt me each time I try to watch it PEACEFULLY.

No prob.
If you do plan on getting the dvd I'd spend the few extra dollars for the premium edition since it has a second disc and that's where all the BTS stuff is with a Renai Shashin pv made with clips from the movie. And you get to see the media/promo stuff that Aoi and Tamaki go through the day the movie released in theaters and it has the opening ceremony with the director, a good chunk of the cast and Ai as well. It's the same one that was/is floating around YouTube. |

| Thanks for the in depth summary of the bonus DVD sakuraangel. Regarding Aoi taking pictures for the gallery, I read some where that photography is one of her hobbies. So I wouldn't be surprised if she actually took the photos in the gallery. |
