ハニカミジェーン - Shy Jane -

* repeat
君はステキさ
君はステキさ
ジェーン...

Romaji:
chokkan de aruku sono kotoba wa

ai wa chanto wakatteru yo
hen na iji wa imi mo nai sa
dakedo tsuite shimau no riyuu mo nai sa

* repeat

Translation:
The words that are based on my intuition
Although they are hard to express
Love understands this perfectly
There is no significance to the weird stubborness
But I am that way, though, there is no reason for it
Is that why I always carry that expression?

Even when I cried, even when my heart ached
I didn't give up

It's ok to always
go along at your own pace, Jane
I'll look after you
Always so straightfoward, aren't you?
Whenever something happens you become so shy, Jane
You're so lovely

Everyday is a challenge for oneself
Even the ocean gets rough sometimes
Love understands this perfectly
Kissing is important and H [sex/intimacy] is important too
The temperature connects these like feelings that are flowing in
More and more, I become smitten by love [lovestruck; dizzy with love]

It's ok to always
go along at your own pace, Jane
I'll look after you
Always so straightfoward, aren't you?
Whenever something happens you become so shy, Jane
You're so lovely

You must taste happiness in order to be happy
From then on, do not give up
Because thinking of anger will make you express your anger
But do not give up

It's ok to always
go along at your own pace, Jane
I'll look after you
Always so straightfoward, aren't you?
Whenever something happens you become so shy, Jane
You're so lovely

You're so lovely
You're so lovely
Jane…

anyone is welcome to translate this into English.
Thanks.

thanks for the lyrics! Boogie
its a very cute song Nod
i could try translating it, but id have to look up a lot of words, because i dont know much japanese yet No
it would be easier to just get someone who actually knows the language to translate it, so if you know japanese and you're reading this, please be kind enough to post a translation for us! Giggle

This song saved my day! It is one of the best Ai-songs!! Love I can't translate properly anything other than the last part, and I am not 100% sure about it either...

"For the cute
for the cute
Jane..."

At least i think so... I suck at Japanese *goes to corner to cry*

i thought "suteki" = wonderful?
like rimi natsukawa's "suteki da ne" = isn't it wonderful?

shouldn't it be like "you are wonderful."? hmm.. i'm not so sure though.

Thanks punito! Love
Still haven't heard this since I'm awaiting my own copy...
getting a bit impatient, tho...

Unfortunately I don't have the time or energy to translate this (besides the fact that I have a feeling there are certain someones around Ch-Ai who are furiously translating as I type this... Shifty Giggle )

Shocked
I was surprised upon reading Celsius005's Translation of Ai's excite.co.jp Interview of the above lyrics, but lo and behold, there they are! Embarassed Giggle
The above, as Celsius005 wrote, means, "The kiss is very important, and so is the 'H'."
'H' here is referring to 'ecchi.'
[*Warning to the more faint-of-heart*: Wikipedia entry contains some minorly graphic explanations.] Happy
Of course the term, as Wiki is good to point out, doesn't always have such harsh and perverse meanings. Contex, like all of the Japanese language, is crucial. Like, say, a cute, upbeat B-side. Wink
Yet I think it's great. I'm glad Ai can show she's maturing (thru more ways than just the increasing level of the music she's writing lately). It also goes to show she's not all saccharine and Care Bears as some of her critics like to portray... Laughing

Oh punito, that would be very good. I highly prefer Chinese translations over English translations, actually. I could use it as reference if I'm translating it into English too.

Right, here is the translation of Hanikami Jane in English! This is only my understanding of the lyrics, so anyone else is free to put up their version of the lyrics!

ハニカミジェーン (Shy Jane/Jen)

As for the words based on intuition (lit. walks with intuition)
Although it is very difficult for them to be transmitted
The meaning of “love” is still understood perfectly
There is no significance in obstinacy
But I can’t help but lose my temper, even if without a reason
So, is that why I always wear that sort of expression on my face?

Even if tears are pouring out; even if my heart has a prickling pain
I still will not give up

*It is good enough to handle
Things at your usual pace, Jane
I will watch over you
Always so frank
Whenever something happens you become so shy Jane
You are fantastic@!

Everyday is a test of one’s strength
Even the beach becomes rough at times
But I still understand perfectly the meaning of “love”
Kissing is important, intimacy is also important
At this temperature it seems that it is still possible to communicate our feelings
More and more I am getting lovestruck/dizzy with love/smitten#

Repeat *

You must taste happiness in order to be happy
I will never give up
In order to stop getting angry, you showed your anger
However, I will not give up

You are fantastic
You are fantastic
Jane…

@This can mean cute, but I thought that fantastic would sound more coherent and also, according to the Chinese translation, suteki means fantastic/great/superb
#Referenced from vllasko's explanation of mero mero!

Thanks for your translations! I'm especially glad to finally have one in English! What can I say? Ai writes amazing lyrics, and tells amazing stories through her songs. I love this song. Wink

Japanese is hard to decrypture. At first listening to this song, I thought she said the word "breeze" in the chorus during this part: "yarikonashite ikeba ii sa, JE-N" I guess not, and I thought it was cute. Shifty
