I just was browsing the Sunday paper and saw the official prices for the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii
The PlayStation 3 has two different prices, or at least what was shown in the ads. The 20GB PS3 is $500 and the 60GB PS3 is $600.
The Nintendo Wii is like $250.
The funny thing about the price of the Nintendo Wii right now is that it's cheaper than the XBox 360, which has been out for quite some time right now. ^_^
I apologize in advanced if there is another topic about the OFFICIAL prices of the systems. I know there are a lot of topics that talk about the pricing ideas of the systems, tho. ^^; |

hmmmm... it's really a tough decision...
PS3 or Wii?
I am a huge fan of Sony but Wii got Mario and it is much cheaper.
BUT!!! Wii has no Final Fantasy (at least not FFXIII)
sigh... the dilemma.
I guess I will just wait a while till prices for PS3 drops. |

| I am very interested in Wii, about the gameplay. It seems fun! BUT, i am a huge fan of Sony as well. HOWEVER, it's so expensive! Sigh...i think i am having dilemma as well... |

| yeah i think nintendo is set to do well because the price of their next generation console hasn't gone up much compared to the GC...whereas 360 and PS3 both have much higher prices compared to xbox and PS2. so being the far cheaper console, if there are some good titles to back it up, i think nintendo will do very well soon. (i can already think of quite a few pretty awesome titles...) |

| Actually when buying a console, the tech spec is not very impt to me.. I tend to compare games which are tied to these consoles, What's the use of buying a super high end/cheap console but without nice games or limited games available? |

| That's true Furitsuke. I am agree with u on that. And i guess that's part of each console's strategy, such as PS3 knows they will definitely take Final Fantasy lovers. |

true. but I have faith in Sony for releasing a console with good tech. spec. and developing more good quality games for it... i mean look at X-box, the selection of games is just pathetic (either sports games or first person shooters like Halo, which I am not really that into since I am not a guy)
rahhh... Why can't Sony and Nintendo just fuse together and create a super platform which plays both Mario and Final Fantasy games???
that would be a dream come true!!
(lol. I am dreaming already. must head to bed now.) |

| Well punito, i think how Xbox chooses the games is really dependant on the market they are targeting. Unlike Asians, western boys have preference to play first person shooting games and sports games rather than RPGs. That's what i observed, but maybe i am wrong. I am the same as u thinking Xbox games not as good because i prefer RPGs or other great games in Nintendo and Sony. But i am a guy. |

Hahah!! Yeah, I believe too, that Xbox is targating the Western boys. For sony, it's more of Asian flavor XDDDDD Teriyaki flavor anyone? XDDDD  |

| go SONY!! yeah , think i would buy it ounce it launches (shud be S$900.00 for the 60GB ps3 in singapore) ^^ The graphic for Ff 13 in ps3 was really good , while watching the FF 13 trailer its kinda hard for me to diffrientiate between rendered(those CG's cutscences) and non-rendered , it totally tells us how powerful Ps3 is , and PS3 would have more game option then nintendo (i think) , Anyway we can always wait for PS3 price to drop =D |

| This was just mentioned in my Economics class earlier today, that since both the PS3 and the Wii controllers are wireless, they will be more easy to lose around the house. They like need one of the beeping things on it like cordless phones. But if people lose them, they would have to buy another one, and that's how the companies make their money, I guess. ^^; |

| I saw the craziest thing today. This video shows how some clever guys are going to get some quick cash by employing a rather interesting task force. All made possible by the PS3. I've heard of other crazy things happening too such as Japanese people paying people to stand in line for them and of course the oh-so-popular overnight camp out. |

But how can anyone pay $2000 for a console! I though the retail price was bad enough.
I'll wait a while for the PS3 I think.
I'm definately getting a Wii though! c'mon you little elebits! let's be avin' ya!!!

| I wouldn't mind buying both. But I've been a Sony fanboy at the start. I love my Final Fantasy. But I might buy the Wii since there's a new Super Smash game and a new Sonic game (Tails better be playable!). |
