Update 11/22:
According to the ORICON STYLE poll (asking men between 11-49 years old), Ai Otsuka has placed no. 1 on "The female artist guys wanna have as a girlfriend".
Not only she was placed no.1 on "The person you wanna go to see the firework together" this summer, she is also the most datable girl among guys right now. The reason is that "She's cute and her Osaka accent's nice"(Tokyo/24yrs), It must be fun to spend time with her"(Kanagawa/27yrs). Certainly, she's small, cute and smiley. It must be fun to date with her at amusement park or play bowling with her.
Here is the list of the top 5 datables:
1. Ai Otsuka
2. YUI
3. aiko
4. Aya Ueto
5. Ayumi Hamasaki

is Koda Kumi, Amane Kaoru and Ayumi classified as cute ?... i think Ai should win it LOL. don't know if YUI looks cute to me but i think she looks plain [ as in she does not look like someone who stands out in limelight. ]

yay my 2 fav! yui and ai-chin. YUI is definitely cute. Her cuteness comes from her "plain jane" image. It's like pure, innocent & cute. Check her out in the movie "midnight sun" aka. Taiyou no Uta. Natural cuteness!  |

glad to see ueto aya and kuraki mai are on the list too. they are really cute in my opinon. just confused about kaoru amane....do they mean the character itself? or sawajiri erika? 
if they meant sawajiri erika, I would agree that she should be on the list~ |

If Ai-chin and YUI and one and two they're running there polls correctly over there because that probably what I'd end up deducing myself.

I don't know if this is a chart for cutest female artist, since Kaoru Amane is just a fiction right? Or there's really an artist called Kaoru Amane?!  I don't think Oricon will mess up the name of Erika Sawajiri with the character she plays. |

I'd like for someone who understands Japanese to translate/confirm what this is all about, but from what I could tell it seemed like a poll in which men picked who they would like to have as their sweetheart.

Sony Music is distribute Sawajiri CDs by name of Kaoru Amane, as in the TV series. Yes. Notice:
 
This is unusual in America I know but I think not so strange because Sawajiri is not known as singer, yes? but Amane is singer, so Amane should have album. Anyway I don't care what name, music is nice.
Now: I have watched over half of 2006 Otsuka concert. Wow! I have never seen her live performance before, she is so wonderful! such nice person and good interaction with people in audience! I wish I will be there personally for another concert! but of course this means I must travel to Japan, which I shall do! in spring time! my first trip to Japan since moving to USA 13 years ago. I shall to visit my relatives in Yamaguchi Prefecture and also two new friends I met while travelling on a train in the USA, they are age 26 women, one year older than I am, and they are working and living in Tokyo. So if there is some concert I like, I will attend! Yay! This is grand adventure! although kind of scary too.

erika isnt a singer herself. SO its name as kaoru. This is what i think, the company didnt release a singer for her but the character Kaoru Amane. So she would not be name as erika
Mochida Kaori look kinda cute to me.
Kaoru Amane should be in Beautiful section.....
