ok, i'm talking to one of the people who has made an ai profile on myspace.
i thought i'd post the conversation here, and offer up the floor for any questions you want me to ask "ai"
you see, the person says they're ai, but i can't really be sure. so i'm going to ask them questions that only the real ai would know  any suggestions?
and eyn, i know how you feel about myspace, and don't worry, i'll be careful

I already know that it's not Ai. When does Ai ever make english songs? She rarely says any english terms in her songs, so I wouldn't think she's fluent. If any of these artist profiles list fansites or fan forums as official website, then you know automatically that it' snot real.
I haven't seen the Ai myspace yet, but myspace is huge so it might be a possibility. But I highly doubt it's really her. |

ok, here's some more. yeah, that's what i thought about initially, rokit but she says she can only read and write it. if she can't speak it, sure she could write a song in english, but she wouldn't be able to sing it 
here it is, if you wanna check it out.
and i checked the jetlag, it's about noon, so the time's ok. i'm still not sure though...

because sometimes you use english words in your songs, but so do a lot of jpop singers like in フレンジャ you say "dance & fight!" and things like that.

I really don't know. If it was, I'd go crazy. Plus, Ai isn't the sort of 100% English speaker. Plus, she's never been overseas (she should though). Even though it looks fake, I'm really hoping its real!  |

I think this Ai is fake.
If she really is this fluent in English, I think she would've studied enough to be able to not make that many spelling mistakes. Grammar's a bit harder so I'll set that aside.
Another thing is that this Ai's myspace profile is decked out with a collection of her PVs from YouTube.
PVs on YouTube are sort of breaking the copyright infringment rule, which is why so many of them were taken down at the request of JASRAC.
I don't think Ai would support, or even be allowed to just post her PVs and songs up.
Just my thoughts  |

you all make good points. oh, and my friend and partner in figuring out this "ai" sent her a message in japanese. well, it seems like this "ai" doesn't speak japanese.  even when my friend provided a link to babelfish 
she logged off without even saying goodbye  well, here's the end of it. have at it!

Um, are you talking about http://www.myspace.com/aiotsuka ?
Because if you are that's the definition of a typical fanspace; it's basically a myspace account create and run by a fan of the artist they're representing. Check out the 'About Ai Otsuka' section and it's written in third person. Also, if you look at the pictures, they're all pictures that we all have access too already. She doesn't really have any proof at all that she's legitimate. The points that everyone bringing up should be taken into consideration too. It's totally different from say, Tanya Chua, who I'm actually following through myspace. She updates her blogs, posts up unique pictures and uploads raw material and even little messages sometimes. I'm going to have to say no, but a part of me really wants to believe that Ai-chin is that accessible.
Haha, I think the conversation that tsumetai.ame had with this Ai is pretty solid proof that this Ai doesn't even speak Japanese.  |

Nope. It's a different one. It looks so real but I think it's fake. I found one typical mistake. "Ai" calls LOVE-chan the "Ai Otsuka Bunny". I hate how some people pretend to be real celebrities. It brings false hope. We want the real Ai!  |

but yeah, they don't speak japanese, so i'm pretty sure it's a fake.

haha ai can type "lol", but wow ai can write and sing in japanese but she cant read it 
but yea alot of the sites are people that want attention so they pretend to be celebrities or they have too much time on thier hands |

| ugh. one person did choose yes. well in any case, too many typos for me to believe it is ai. she seems at least smart enough to the point that if she could understand english she'd be writing it well and not wasting her time on myspace since she must be busy writing and composing and promoting and everything. |
