Yay someone posting in this thread besides me!
I can't say I'm a huge fan of her new album. I am still debating if I want to pick it up when there's so many other things that are priority (such as school fees T_T). It is her most cohesive album to date and a lot of others have been saying it's her best album to date. Though I personally have to disagree because the songs to me have been forgettable with the exception of Love Machine Gun. But if one is looking for a summery dance/upbeat album I'd say at least check the album out. I can see why she left certain tracks off of this with the direction she wanted to take. Though sadly I can't help but wonder if she didn't try to make it cohesive ... and put in certain songs that some fans really wanted, would the sales have been better?
Regardless, I guess the moral of the story to Sony is that you just can't please everyone =(
Oh I'm posting because of this:

One word: BREATHTAKING.
She can sing live IMO ... maybe not flawlessly since she doesn't sing live on a regular basis (I can hear her struggle on a few notes in Trust You ... but w/ Precious .. oh WOW.
Does anyone know what show this was??? |

I listened to the album a while ago and I have to say that "Dream" is her best album up to date. She shows us, that she is not just talented in singing ballads but rather in singing up tempo songs too! I enjoyed "Baila Baila" and "Love Machine Gun" with regard to the faster songs the most. But I think my favorite track is "Breeeeeeezin!!!!!" (B-Side of "miss you"). Well, the rest of the album was okay too. But I missed the B-Side "Mafuyu no Seiza" from her "Koi wa Groovy×2" Single. I loved this track so much !
Overall, a good album! |

^ I missed Mafuyu no Seiza too but I'm also glad that it wasn't on there leaving more room for newer tracks and also since I bought that single Otherwise what was the point of me buying that single if all b-tracks make the albums then what's the point |

Ahh, I just heard that her new single is coming out November 11. I hope it's amazing. I love Yuna's voice, but her songs are really hit or miss for me. But damn it, when she gets it right, it's absolutely spectacular.
I noticed though that she's had a drop in popularity, miss you getting #20 on the weekly and koi wa groovy x2 with #44. trust you was better at #5, but I'm thinking that was because of the Gundam tie-in. I really want her new single to chart nicely, hopefully in the top 10.
Oh, anyone hear the studio version of GATE? It's awesome. |

the soundtrack/collaborative album for GATE got released at the end of July and the studio version for GATE sung by Yuna Ito was on there.
I'm doubtful Yuna will ever release this song on an album or single (though I'd like to be proven wrong). This album is strictly a charity/fund raising album so it's only sold on the official Gate website. But international buyers can pay with paypal, if they really want the album.
This is the link to the official site about the album/orders

The song

oh the B side for Yuna single will be called "Happy Days." You can hear the preview on her official site or here (if the link works ... some time Sony won't let you directly link to it).

I'm not commenting on the song till the full version is out XD |

Found this article in Tokyo Graph this morning at work. But my work blocks this site, so I couldn't post until now.
Quote: Singer Yuna Ito (25) will provide the theme song for the movie "Tenshi no Koi," directed by Yuri Kanchiku. Titled "Let it Go," it will be a rock tune composed by Superfly producer Koichi Tabo.
Ito is a big fan of the mobile phone novel that the movie is adapted from. She has already released two songs associated with the novel, "miss you" and "LOVE MACHINE GUN."
"Tenshi no Koi" stars model Nozomi Sasaki (21), who is actually good friends with Ito. The film opens in theaters on November 7, and "Let it Go" goes on sale on November 11.
Essentially, Yuna will now have a movie tie-in for her single "Let It Go."
You can see a trailer to the movie here:

PS. It's Yuna Ito's birthday today =)
お誕生日おめでとうございます。 |

Found a nice interview with Yuna Ito that she did before the release of her third album but after the release of "Trust You." I like how more candid she is in this interview than she is other past interviews. The only other interview where I felt she was comfortable was when she went on one of the Arashi shows.
The interview was actually done by a local Hawaii TV station

hehe I wonder who Johnny Boy is ...
And here's a longer preview of "Happy Days" via the Hawkins Sport CM.

Happy Days is the B-side to her upcoming single "Let It Go" ... all I have to say is that I SERIOUSLY hope that Let It Go will be better than this. Happy Days to me is as bad, if not worse than "Urban Mermaid" (though I loved the cover photo for that single).
The covers for "Let It Go" are also out but I don't want post them until I find a higher res. You can see them on her official site along with pictures (which fans spectacular) that may be from her upcoming PV for "Let It Go"

I really love those pictures on her official site. I listened to the preview for Let it Go as well, also found on the site. It doesn't sound half-bad. I'm looking forward to it. Yuna reaches those high notes, as usual. And Happy Days doesn't sound as terrible as it did in that CM.

As for comparing it to Urban Mermaid, I can see what you mean. However, I really enjoyed that Urban Mermaid remix in her miss you single and thought it was loads improved from the original, simply because of the change in background music. Going by that 43 second preview, the instrumentals actually sound good, so I think there's some hope left for this song. |
