chu-lip should be the last single before the new album right? And new album should be released fairly soon...maybe people have chosen to wait up to the 4th release or maybe chu-lip will sell better next weeks... Confused

I find lots of people out there that just calls CHU-LIP plain weird and hate it when Aichin is not singing powerful ballads. *rolls eyes* Those people need some fun!!
Maybe CHU-LIP isn't selling that well because of the weirdness, some people just can't enjoy it? The first press item isn't that great, and there weren't that much promotion for the single either. :X
But this is definitely one of my favourite singles from her, CHU-LIP and Kimi ni Kaeru are both amazing. x3

^Well promo is sort of there. TV appearances + drama tie in.

That's right, Japaneses people prefers, in general Ballads. It's one of reason that a lot of ballads are published in single. Actually I prefere Ai's funs song, but I have to admit that thses songs are relly weird and "crazy" Smile. I love somes ballads like neko or planetarium but I have some more fun by listening SMILY or CHU-LIP (the dancing is soo crazy, I like lol).

So, I hope that CHU-LIP will be the second Sakuranbo and Japaneses people will open theirs eyes Wink

It just didn't attract the attention of Japan as "Sakuranbo" did. In the end I feel "CHU-LIP" was an attempt to be another "Sakuranbo". The promotion also wasn't huge. Her drama tie-in wasn't really so popular.

hmm, its kinda sad...but seriously, I still think the popularity of a song doesn't tie in with the sales nowadays...

I agree with orange_ka, we should also look at the online downloads before judging whether the song is popular or not.

^Afraid it's not being any more successful than Oricon. On mu-mo it's at #5 and on Chaku-Uta it's at #4. Anyhow I don't see what's the big deal. Getting in the top 5 is always good. In the end Ai's always getting good rankings on Oricon.

Oh their dancing. Laughing Gosh, I'll bet it was pretty dorky looking, but their singing was ok, right?
Oh, I think I may have heard of her...her name sounds familiar anyway. Thanks! Maybe I'll go look for stuff by her...

@ hmm, Houko, raizer
I noticed you're all new! Feel free to welcome yourselves in the Newbie Section, where we can all give you a proper welcoming. Nod

Well, I think it's a safe bet to say the song is popular if it's in the top 5, right? And that's just the Japan sales. It doesn't count all of the ones we've bought. It also doesn't count downloads....
I'm pretty sure Ai's popularity is doing just great. I don't think we need to worry about that. Maybe it's just in the timing. If she had released CHU-LIP either before ARASHI had got theirs out, or longer after, then it coulda been a number 1. Like, if she had switched arounf the releases of Ai am Best and CHI-LIP, maybe it coulda been number 1. Though I don't know who's releasing in March...
And do we care much how the ratings are? Also, I don't see why number 2 or 3 isn't good...I'd die of happiness if I had a number 2 or 3 single! Not that I would ever release a single, but still. Laughing
So, I'm not mad about CHU-LIP Oricon position. I think we should be happy for Ai-chin. Smile

Another update for performances (only one add this time):
    * 3/1 TBS 「うたばん」
    * 3/5 フジテレビ(CX)「HEY!HEY!HEY!」

Good news. It's always fun to see Ai interact with the HEY!x3 guys... Laughing
