| I finally realized this when "Biidama" and "Bidama" were the last active topics in both sections, respectively. Many lyrics get posted in the translation section or many translations get posted in the lyrics section. I was thinking maybe it would be a good idea to merge these two sections, namely it seems most likely to me that lyrics belong in translations. (although i don't think every post in the lyrics section came with a translation...) |

Yea maybe, they both kind of fit into the same page. Let's ask eyn about it! They're asking the same questions anyway right? |

The 2 forums serve quite a different purpose which is why I created the "Ai's translation" in addition to the lyrics forum.
My original intention with the "Ai's translation" forum is to let members have a better grasp of the lyrics by having line by line translation done by volunteers. Of course, it also helps the volunteers to learn Japanese at the same time by learning the meaning of every single word used and conveying the ideas to other members. I also hoped those who know some Japanese but are not that "pro" yet can participate in this detailed translation project and learn something throughout the whole process. For example, I have myself memorized a huge part of lyrics for "Momo no Hanabira" and have a better understanding of the song after attempting to do the word by word translation (which is still unfinished! I really need to get back to this one sometime later ).
Also, the "Ai's translation" forum is not limited to lyrics translation only. There are so many materials about Ai in Japanese and this forum (or section if you prefer) is a great place to post your translation work, if you have done any. For example, the "Kimi iro Omoi" translation done by broken::dreams and spirus (fyi, both are McBloggers).
Overall, the lyrics forum is very specialized at delivering Japanese, Romaji and English translation of Ai's lyrics while the translation forum is more general and translation of different Ai's materials can go under there (or "Ai's News" forum, if they're relatively new and add to the information of a news post, such as those magazine scan translation done by Celsius005). |
