It's January 1st here so let's do something exciting on this special day! As promised, the karaoke contest '07 is here.
Rules:
- Only one entry allowed per contestant
- Only Ai-chin's songs are allowed
- Only Ai-chin's original lyrics are allowed
- Submitted audio must be in mp3 format
- Contest entry should be uploaded to paid or free host such as Box, MediaFire, YSI or MU
- To enter the contest, PM me with a link to your Karaoke mp3
- Contest entry must be your own personal work (i.e. your own singing)
- No software should be used to alter your voice e.g. changing the pitch
- Deadline: 10:00 PM EST, January 26, 2006 (Friday)
Evaluation:
- All the submitted entires will be judged by the active members of Channel-Ai. (active members are those having 20 posts and above)
- If there is a tie in the final result, a second round of voting will be conducted
- All the submitted entries will be shown anonymously during the poll. Contestants must not influence other voters' judgement on the entries
- There will only be one final winner
- eyn reserves the final right to determine who is the winner
Tips:
- You should pick songs that already have official instrumental tracks, but you are allowed to make your own instrumental tracks too for your entry needs
- Try to use a good recording software that will eliminate ambience noise
- When merging your vocal track with the instrumental track, try to adjust the volume level such that neither the background music or your vocal stand out too much (i.e. over loud)
- Start preparing your entry early, or you won't make the deadline with decent work
Organizer:
All rules are simple and straightforward, entries that violates any of these rules will be disqualified. If you have any question regarding the rules, just post a question here.
The prize this time will be both version of Ai's upcoming single "CHU-LIP" i.e. the CD version and the CD+DVD version.
I'm looking forward for everyone's entries, so please participate if you happen to have a microphone lying somewhere in your house. Do take note that this contest is not limited to girls only, guys can also participate and have fun throughout the process, I know this through "experience" from last year's contest. Good luck to all the participants, and I hope everyone have lots of fun taking part in this contest. |

Why, this is certainly lovely for the New Year! It's so exciting to hear everyone's voices again, and this time I'll get to vote Hopefully there will be many entries this time. The prize is really good too, so if I manage to find a microphone (which I didn't consider when I said I wanted to join ) I will do my best! Hope to hear everyone's works soon, and good luck to all planning to join the competition! |

This year's contest should be interesting, especially since we have a lot of new members who aren't familiar with last year's contest. I hope some of the last year contestants are participanting again! Come to think of it, I havn't used my mic since last year. I hope it still works!

Awesome! I remember just missing the last contest and I'm looking forward to hearing what Channel-Ai members have to belt out. Of course, I'm not singing or anything because I have a horrible singing voice. Nonetheless, I'm excited to hear what other people have to offer! Good luck everyone!
That prize is pretty awesome too! |

This is sound absolutely interesting. I won't be competing myself but I can't wait to see how talented our members are! Good luck guys and if you're asking me to sing, well, it's my decision to enter or not right? |

I haven't decided what song I am going to pick too! I managed to borrow a mic from my friend just for this competition. Hopefully more people will join in, since from the replies only about 3 people are joining. |

^ Don't worry tsukiko, most people just most likely read the topic and don't bother to reply. I think that we'll get at least 10+ entries |

| Is it /absolutely/ necessary to have background music with the recording? If so, I'll need someone to make me an instrumental version of the Sabakan version of "to me". ._. |

No, it is not absolutely necessary to have background music for your entry. You can be as creative as you want with your entry but having a background music will definitely make your entry sound more professional (and in a way more similar to Ai-chin's original version) and thus win you more votes during the voting process. Remember, your contest entry will be judged by other members so you might want to consider what might appeal to the them when you're preparing your karaoke recording.
btw, this is just my opinion, nothing is proven so yeah, you might want to consider picking another song that has instrumental version or you can stick with "to me" if you like the song better. Good luck! |
