for my art class, we pretty much get to choose what we want to do for projects -- and of course, i immediately thought about drawing a picture of ai-chan! lol. choosing a picture was hard, but i finally found one in the gallery that i thought would be perfect for what i wanted to do.
[original]
credit to channel-ai gallery for the image!
this was my second attempt EVER at charcoal!
(first time with charcoal pencil though)
i think i did a good job! there are some places i would
like to redo (her foot, her hair -- i made it too big, lol! ).
overall, i'm happy with how it turned out!
used: charcoal pencil, white 17x17 in (approx.) paper.
time: about 5-6 hours. |

That's very nice! I must sound weird but I thought like the leg was done well, lol...
Haha when I had to do charcoal for class I failed completely (not that I even did much of it since I ended up making a deal with my friend that I would do her sketching for her if she would do my charcoal thing, lol), haha. I'm just glad the teacher didn't get mad like for... blinding her, lol. |

Your drawing is wonderful. I looked at the hi-res version, and this does it more justice than the thumbnail image. I used to draw with unrefined charcoal, and it went all over the place, but I got some interesting results! I partcularly like your thin margins which seem to set the drawing off.
