^ Well I guess the US also wanted the oil didn't they? Control over the oil would be a huuuge financial benefit for the western civilization.
Also, I dunno if any of it is true but there's always those conspiracy theories suggesting the US did this to itself so as they would have an excuse to invade, just like how they said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq yet they didnt find any |

^ Oh yeah, I suppose that could be a reason.
What? That's totally ridiculous. I mean, I don't think they'd do that, it would just be stupid.
When I went to DC a couple years ago, we got to see the place in the wall of the Pentagon that looked different; it was newer since they had repaired it after the plane crashed into it. I've heard theories that it was actually a missile, but I dunno...it seems a little crazy to me
But then again, crashing a plane into a building is pretty crazy as well.
People are just crazy. |

^ Now I'll never know!
But I suppose you're right. It just seems a little drastic and far-fetched. I mean, have they ever needed a decent reason to invade a country? |

bush likes to start shit, nuff' said. its been a trend in american presidency. relating back to the topic of this thread, president truman bombed hiroshima and nagasaki with prior knowledge of the japanese wanting to come to peaceful terms without giving up their emperor to the unconditional surrender.
I'm just speculating really.
as for oil, we're at the decreasing end of a bellcurve for oil availability. in a decade or so, there will be no more oil on the face of this earth; a real energy crisis. |

| Wow, those...are disturbing. I saw some during the Atomic Bomb unit in school, but...they always get me in the gut. It's simply horrible. |

I've seen Hiroshima in real life.
Yes it's scary!
But this title is so misleading.
I'm sorry I don't read the whole topic, so I don't know what you said or what's said earlier. I'm afraid I'll see the pictures. "pictures they didn't want to see"? No. I think it's "pictures people never bothered to see".
I think it's crazy.
There are many proud proud American people today who will gladly say that it's all of Japan's fault. And there are also many people who love Japan who will say "stupid America sucks". This isn't the point so far, but I think it's crazy how today because of entertainment/etc. people have become so obsessed with Japan/Asian people... I can't even count how many times I hear someone say "You're Japanese! You're cute. I love all Japanese people! America sucks." It's not true. America doesn't suck and let's be proud but not arrogant! About the war... it doesn't matter where it was bombed. America or Japan. Everyone has one life to live. Our lives are short but we can only try our best. Everywhere in the world there is a bad person, a good person, an innocent person, a heroic person. I don't believe in fighting because of so. There will always be bad decisions made. Doesn't matter if you win, because you still lost in the end, whether it's lost one person or thirty thousand. |
