Most of thos epics are in my school history book。Its prolly cuz we re canadian

Lots of people dont realize that the point is alot of people died. i remember on gaia, the stupidest forum ever, everyones excuse was "well all the japanese people were ready to hit american soldiers with sticks and rocks"。This from the owner of the "japanese student guild" (Barely knows japanese herself)、Claiming that japanese citizens were going to kill all the american soldiers anyway.

Its sad the war wouldnt have ended if it didnt come to this, i blame war time leaders.

I've seen these pictures before and they're just as powerful every time.

What I find shocking though is the fact that the US censored them for so long.

That's just adding insult to injury.

This is a moral atrocity.

The US should be ashamed of itself...

this tragedy will not occur twice.

I find it extremely hard to look at the pictures at first. It's very sad and it actually scared me big time about what would happen if those nuclear-owning countries start something like that again. I really appreciate the courage of the photographer, and thankfully for him we are able to witness these powerful pictures. Too bad he got affected by the radiation itself, but it's a brave act and the whole world shld see these pictures.

Indeed, those pictures reminded us about the power of the atom bomb and its capability.
About the picture of the watch, what does that mean? Is ground zero some place or just meaning ground level?

furitsuke, i was following & participating a similar discussion about the devastating
acts of the United states army during August 6 in japan. Just a short moment ago so...
thank you for presenting those picture to us and creating such a topic, it takes a lot of
man because the subject is so hard to handle.

War is never right and nuking innocent people's/
is absolutely something that will be never forgotten...
its sad/depressing something that human mind cant just handle....scars can be healed but wounds and
that pain that's have found it's place in history can't be fixed. I hope something like this wount happen again never....

What makes it worse is that it was completely unnecessary but even today Americans are taught that the Japanese would not have surrendered.

That's a complete lie.

I want to know what actually warranted the US to do this.

Also, even if you agreed with the first bombing, what was the point of the second?

Proving maybe to the other country's,
that they are step ahead in war technology
and they are not the country that should be messed with and
and that they are a country that is not afraid of using nuclear weapons.

But what i found even more disturbing is the statement of harry S. Truman.
how can a human being say something like this "...the greatest thing in history."
- Harry S. Truman
President of the United States during the Atomic Bombing No guy is a wacko!

I think you're right... a show of power.

Involving the slaughter of 250.000 civilians.

I suggest that anyone who believes that the bombing was necessary should read this:
