I have an idea. So after I found out last night that Avex was going to take out "Friends" from the Ai Am Best album and replace it "LOVE Music" I got a bit upset XD When I thought about it, this albums almost seems like a singles collection.10 of those songs are her A-sides to her singles. There's really only three other songs that are from albums or something else. Don't get me wrong, some of those songs are definitely some of Ai's best songs ... still ...
Anyways, I got to thinking, what if you had the power to make your own Ai's best album? Granted with the freeware programs out there, this is a sinch to do but it's not the same as it being officially released by a record company, no?
So if you were the one who got to pick the track list of songs that will go into an Ai's Best album
A) What songs would you put on it?
By this I mean ANY songs which have been released since Ai's started releasing music till February 2007:
-all 14 of her singles (a-sides and b-sides, or any other version of a song that gets thrown into the singl
-all three of her
And just for kicks
-any vocal song from the Tokyo Friends OST
-I canCHU
- and just for kicks, you can specify any version of her songs performed live on the three DVDs that have been release, PVs, Tokyo Friends (OVA or movie) performace or any TV performance. (I know this almost never happens, if it does, it's rare. But I want to add this in because I feel some of her live performances out shine the single version and this would just add an interesting element to the whole thing)
*You can choose whichever song for various reasons from it being a favorite, or you fee that it's showcases Ai's sining well, good composition (lyrics or music wise) to the sing, you can relate a lot to the song, ect.
B)What would you title this CD
C)If you want to add more, um I guess you can say why you picked that song and if it was a specific version, why that too.
*And I'm thinking about 13-15 tracks so that it's close to a regular CD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quick example (which I'll probably modify later)
I can't think of a title at the moment. It'd probably be something uncreative like "Ai's Best" but if I wanted to follow her album themes with LOVE than the second word being some kind of food/drink related thing, I'd say something cheesy like LOVE Dessert, since I consider dessert to be the best part of the meal, there for her best work XD
5:09AM (album version)
Renai Shashin (live version off of LOVE Is Born dvd)
Amaenbo (live version off of LOVE is Born dvd)
Daisukidayo (live version off of LOVE Is Born dvd)
Hoshikuzu (single version)
To Me (album version off Tokyo Friends OST)
Friends ~Sabakan version~ (from Daisukidayo's single)
Tears (single version)
Planetarium (single version)
Kingyo Hanabi (live version off of LOVE Jam dvd, including the piano version she did for that very performance)
Cherish (album version)
Kimi ni Kaeru (single version)
Yumikui (Tokyo Friends Movie performance version)
Happy Days (live version off LOVE Is Born dvd)
Sakuranbo (live version off of LOVE Cook99 dvd) |
I don't think I can think of 13... lol... but I'll put the ones I'd love to see:
Yumekui (full single version; gotta love the bubbly part at about 3 7, LOL!)
Neko Ni Fuusen (single version)
Momo No Hanabira (single version)
Sakuranbo (HimawaRi recorded)
Chotto (Tokyo Friends Live version of BOO BEE BENZ Cover)
To Me (Tokyo Friends, BOO BEE BENZ Cover)
5:09am (album version)
Ramen 3 Pun Cooking (album version)
Superman (album version)
Kingyo Hanabi (album version)
That's all for me.
How about... LOVE Plate. Hahahaha. Like a plate of food. Or LOVE Platter? |
Not in order of preference..
from Jam Punch Tour 2005
1 - Himawari (it sounds like it is meant to be played that way)
2 - Amaenbo (As Amaenbo my FAVOURITE ai-chin composition, i feel compelled to give a lengthier explanation here. I felt that the "Love Is Born" version is well-sung but a little too short, and i've yet to see the "Love Cook Tour" version. Hence i chose this version, even though some high notes were poor (the 7th note in each chorus rep, if y'all know what i mean ). the IDEAL should be a piano version done in studio, but i think that will only happen in my dreams..! )
3 - Kingyo Hanabi (the piano solo is too good to omit!)
from Love Is Born
4 - Hane Ari Tamago (she expend so much emotions in this song that Amaenbo and Planetarium that followed actually sounded a little flat in comparison)
from Singles
5 - Ameiro Parasol (showcase different style)
6 - Kuroge Wagyuu Joushio Tanyaki 680 Yen (better than the album version, in my opinion)
7 - Renai Shashin (well, it's not in an album yet!)
8 - Yumekui (full version)
from Albums
9 - pretty voice (great energy!)
10 - Sakuranbo (can't leave this out, can i? )
11 - Daisuki Dayo (most emotional piece, alongside Renai Shashin)
12 - Cherish (nice rock feel!)
13 - Planetarium (still feels that concert version can be better than album version. hopefully her performance in Ai am Best tour will achieve that)
that's all from me!!  |
uhm.. mine's gonna be just off the top off my head then : D
1 - Amaenbo
2 - Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri
3 - Biidama
4 - Cherish
5 - Daisuki Da Yo
6 - Hanikami Jane
7 - Love Music
8 - Momo no Hanabira
9 - Pretty Voice
10 - Renai Shashin
11 - Sakuranbo
12 - Tears
*cough* it's alphabetical because I don't know how to appropriately order songs in an album... I'd suppose putting a fast beat song like biidama or sakuranbo up first and followed by a few of the slower songs O.o |
It was a challenge to get the list down to one CD. I had to cut out some of my favorites. These aren't in any particular order. I would choose the order very carefully if I actually wanted to make this CD.
I love the live performances, but I prefer the studio cuts overall, so that's what these are.
- 羽ありたまご (Haneari Tamago)
- キミにカエル。
- ポンポン (Ponpon)
- 金魚花火 (Kingyo Hanabi)
- さくらんぼ (Sakuranbo)
- 夏空 (Natsuzora)
- Pretty Voice
- 雨色パラソル (Amairo Parasol)
- 片想いダイヤル (Kataomoi Dial)
- Strawberry Jam
- プラネタリウム (Planetarium)
- フレンジャー (Frienger)
- ハニー (Honey)
- 帰り道 (Kaerimichi)
- ネコに風船 (Neko ni Fuusen) |
kingyo hanabi
chotto
tears
haneari tamago
frienger
i dunno...there's a significant drop in the awesomeness of my list after around the last third for me, so i better end it there. this wasn't in any order, i started with my favorites then whatever random songs i really like at the moment. this is hard since my tastes change from time to time...
oh and i should throw in tsukune 70 yen just for fun...but i never listen to it. |
Hum it's not easy >_<
So, I'll try to choose 15 tracks only.
01. Momo no Hanabira (Maybe the 3th anniversary... version or the album version. But a version with the original instrumnetal. I don't like this song in piano...)
02. Himawari (Same comment as for Momo no Hanabira)
03. Amaenbo (Original version... It's very bad that she has never sang this song with the original instrumnetal in live)
04. Happy Days (Original mix)
05. Hoshikuzu (What a wonderfull song!
06. Friends (Sakaban or LOVE COOK TOUR)
07. SMILY (Not a live version because I don't like the "tap tap tap tap tap" in the begging, I prefer the CD version)
08. Neko ni fuusen (Original mix)
09. Natsu Sora (An other B-Side which is very great and never sang)
10. Planetarium (Hum... Maybe the A Nation version or the LOVE SONG version)
11. Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri (I like this song better than de A-side)
12. Sakuranbo (I've forgot it >_<)
13. Ame no naka no melody (I like when she sing with all her breath)
14. Haneari Tamago (LOVE COOK LIVE version)
15. CHU-LIP
Secret track
16. Daisuki Dayo (I don't know what version I prefer)
There is a lot of songs which are very good and not in my list but I have to choose so... |
Yes I know, but I talked about "real" live (LOVE COOK TOUR for example).
I saw Amaenbo lives and, that right that it's not very good (especially the end)... |
