i wanna do that song, because i found it really touching. I'm just going to get it started, i'll start working on it later.
Kingyo Hanabi
金魚=goldfish
花火=fireworks
*Note* In Japan these are the symbols of summer |

oh i guess it's going okay. I don't really work on it often, i'm pretty busy. we'll the first line is easy so i'll just get that started.
kokoro ni oyogu kingyo wa koishi omoi o tsunoraeste
心に 泳ぐ 金魚は 恋し 想いを募らせて
心: こころ = heart
に = (possessive particle : place)
泳ぐ: およぐ = Swimming
金魚:きんぎょ = Goldfish
は (possessive particle : about subject)
恋し:こい し = in love *1
想い:おもい = to think *2
を = (possessive particle : possessive) *3
募らせて:つのらせて = to gather *4
The swimming goldfish in my heart, gathers love thoughts.
I have some notes about it which i'll put footnotes to explain different japanese things better.
*1 : Some people might know that 『Ai/あい/愛』 means love too. I was told there's a difference between koi and ai. One of them means love like you'd have affection for someone or something and the other means love like a strong feeling toward someone. But i'm not sure which one means which. Although it doesn't change how it's translated the majority of the time.
*2 : 思い/おもい <-- this means the same as 想い/おもい which is used in the song. I'm not exactly sure why they're too different kanji's for the same meaning and pronouncation. But there's just 2 ways to write it i guess. They both have the same meaning.
*3 : Just alittle information on japanese sentence structure. を 'wo' which is pronounced お 'o' is very often used before verbs. It means that the word before を 'wo' is the object that is verbing.
*4 : 募る/notsu ru <-- this is the dictionary verb form(if you looked it up in a kanji dictionary it would say that). notice it has 'ru'. In the song she uses ら 'ra' with せて. The 'ru' (dictionary form) changes depending on the sentence structure. There's are 7 different verb bases. By using 'ra' it means that it changed to verb base 1. It also meaning it's a irregular Godan. Verbs are determind by either Ichidan, Godan, or Irregular. Depending on which of these, the verb changes the ending to each verb base, depending on the sentence structure. Which in this case, Ai just ends the sentence with verb base 7, te-form. That just makes the sentence more casual. |

心に 泳ぐ 金魚は 恋し 想いを募らせて
The swimming goldfish in my heart, gathers love thoughts,
真っ赤に 染まり 実らぬ 思いを 知りながら
knowing that riping, crimson dyed feeling
それでも そばにいたいと 願ったの
And yet, I'm wishing to be there by your side.
I added the last sentence and translated that one with crimson but damn, it is though!
'Makka ni somari minoranu omoi wo shirinagara'
makka ni somari - dyed red
minoranu omoi - riping thought
shirinagara - while knowing
so i did it like that but still im not very sure if its ok sounds weird and im not very artsy and my poetry skills suck |
