I read somewhere that they thought that Ai would replace the current Queen of J-POP (ayumi) in 2 years. What do you think?
Personally i hope so. I'm not really a fan of Ayumi. But i mean i'm not a hater. |

| Nope, because BoA already has the next "Queen of J-pop" down on lock. And I speaking this from fact, and not because I am a fan. |

YeaH!! Ai's gonna be the next Pop Queen for sure!! it only takes time to tell us that!! theres this magazin i saw in singapore talkiong about Jpop stars, and there was this part that talks about Otsuka and ayumi. she thers this part that says "Ai Otsuka is a Multi-Talented singer, as she writes and compose her own music , and this gives Ai a cutting edge oveR Ayumi Hamasaki" don't you just agree on this part?? |

i think it is a probably not case...
because.. i personally think that BoA will be the queen... as she's more popular than ai...
however, if avex doesnt want a queen to be NON-japanese...den hopefully i think BoA will not be.. but i think there's more singer in avex will probably be the queen...~ |

Actually BoA's new stuff is selling way better than her old stuff. "Do The Motion" sold 1,000,500 copies, and was the first single of hers to sell over a million. I'm not offended or trying to prove anything, I just want to lay down facts. Also, BoA is the second best selling female artist in Japan. So its a 80% chance that BoA will be the next J-pop diva right after Ayu, with Mika Nakashima, Ai Otsuka, and Kouda Kumi, and other falling into the 20%. |

I want Ai to be the next Jpop queen, because she's such a cute and talented singer, but that's just my irrational wish.
Talking about facts, I don't know much about them, not on record sales etc. at least. If you have a chart on number of sales of all possible candidates for the Jpop queen title, the answer to this question will pretty much be obvious.
But still, nobody knows what will happen in the future, there's always a probability for something to happen. Just like nobody can predict the weather. |

Well I do agree. BoA has got a lot of potential indeed. Also her last sing sold very very well and was a nice change. Maybe if she keeps releasing more variety she might do really well since the girl has a lot of potential.
As long as Ayumi will be on the market I don't think Ai Otsuka has a chance. Hamasaki is more than a singer. She's got a huge fanbase even when Avex have been trying to reduce their dependence upon her. Her sales are still far superior from Ai's. Plus she's a fashion trendsetter.
Comparing the two we can easily see that Ayu is still the favourite. Ayu made it at #1 on the monthly. Ai's single was second. They are close but Ayu still previals for now.
Don't take me wrong I love Ai but I believe she still does have a long way to go before she can become queen and will have a lot of competition. Mika Nakashima is one... she's got a huge fanbase too and there are many others trying to get the crown too like Ami Suzuki and Namie Amuro who were rather popular in the past. |

| i hope Ai becomes the queen of jpop but nt like ayumi though i hate to admit it, adding to Riona's pt, she's also facing quite a competition from Mika Nakashima who's also one of my favourites.... yup |

I hope Ai will never change into a J-Pop Queen like ayumi.
Ayumi has full arena with 30.000 people I think that`s to much.
Ai shoudn`t have such a big arena.
I like Ayumi but these two are very different people.
I hope Ai will nerver be a Diva or someone else.
I like her for her naturalness. |
