Um... There's no link....
ETA:
The original quote is even more moronic than the implication!
...metaphor my @ss... Blank stare No

I agree with depressant in that I think the YouTube commenter was confusing Ai with Utada Hikaru, who *did* in fact have and recover from cancer.
I'm not sure what type of cancer it was, but definitely more of a match than Ai.

I think we would have heard more if Ai did have cancer.
Typically, cancer survivors wish to tell people about their struggles as a sign of hope to others. Do you honestly think only *one* person on the internet would know/mention it online if it was indeed true? Confused No

As for the Ayumi rumors... No *Obviously* just mean-spirited slander. And AIDS is *not* something to be thrown around in this manner. It is a serious matter, but not a plague. Blank stare

Hikki did not have cancer! omg..wtf......it's a false definition of what really happened to Hikki. She had a benign tumor, that's it! what's the big DEAL? gosh, people who don't know the difference between CANCER and BENIGN TUMOR should AT LEAST open your biology textbook! Mad

And the rumor of Ai having cancer is just ridiculous.

^Even if wasn't cancer, it still took tolls on Hikki's health. You can see it in the pictures around Sakura Drops and Deep River era. And even if she did have cancer, what's the big problem? Human gets cancer, Hikki is human, hence Hikki may have cancer. You sounded like you were mortally offended by that remark.

And even though some tumors are benign, they're still tumors nonetheless and had they been left untreated it would have been worse.

I'm pretty sure the youtube person confused Ai with Hikki.

You never know these sorts of things for real.
If I had cervical cancer there's no way I'd want to be telling anyone about it. It's a very personal area to get cancer.
My Gran didn't tell our family she had cancer a week before she was going to pass away.
The point I'm trying to make is, some celebrities like to keep these things to themselves whereas some don't. If she knew the cancer was beatable there wouldn't be much point in spreading the word and having all her fans worrying and sending messages of remorse may put stress on her.
Seeing as nobody really knows her in person, you can't really confirm a rumour to be right or wrong. No matter how much media backup you have.

You think?

Without that kind of thing, there would be thousands of "journalists" out of work and a lot less gossip mags on the news stands Tongue Japan is no different to anywhere else.

My, my! This is quite a topic. Giggle
...
While both the quote and the newspaper article do seem to lack credibility, the idea of Ai having had any form of cancer isn't one that can be dismissed so easily, granted a possibility is never open for dismissal without proof to support either side. This information is anonymous; therefore, we aren't truly at liberty to declare whether she had or hadn't been involved with cancer sometime in her life. Besides, I don't think this is a matter she'd want the general public to nose their way in and thusly would not have said anything regarding it. Without confirming anything for ourselves, we'll simply be caught in an endless discussion of opinions and possibilities, our hearts racked with distress forever. Imagine that! Tongue Laughing (not like there's much we can do about that anyway Swing my mood, dude!)

If anything is to be done, it would be to ascertain the origin of those journalists' sources.

Finally someone said it, i agree full heartedly
it's none of our business if she had a cancer or not.
Of course we can talk about it, it's not like declined from
us but still, it's kinda i don't know just seems wrong to me & shady..

Let's putted it this way, would some here in this forum
like if we jabbered our mouths about some members personal everyday life
when we haven't probably even been involved in it at the first place,
things like these are private specially when it's something like this, and
therefore there should not be debate about had she cancer or did she had not.

and i agree with Celsius005 about that, that she would not probably like this,
if she noticed & knew that people are guessing, did she had a cancer or not.

But that's just my mumbles but still Shifty and that's why i wont be guessing had she or not!

Well, I think anything heard from a comment on YouTube is false until proven correct. Like, tsumetai.ame said, there was something pretty funny in a comment on the Daisuki da yo PV. The person said it was actual footage of Ai and her boyfriend before he died Laughing Which is totally untrue.
I'm not saying it's impossible that Ai had cervical cancer, as it is very common, and if discovered early enough, treatable. But don't you think we'd know about it? I forget who...but someone mentioned that cancer survivors like to talk about their struggles and how they overcame the disease as an inspiration to other cancer patients.
Also, people mentioned Hikki as having a tumor a while ago. Actually, I didn't know this before, but now I know! I think it's very likely that this person just confused Ai with Hikki.
Oh, and how the heck is CHU-LIP a metaphor for cervical cancer? Shocked I mean, Ai is crazy and all, but not that crazy! Laughing
Also, that thing about Ayu...ok, I'm pretty sure she doesn't have AIDS. I mean seriously. And plus, I've only heard lies from Chinese tabloid papers. Not that American ones are any better. Sneeze Does Ayu really hire men to sleep with them? If that's true, then I've pretty much lost all respect for her. No

Oh! I finally get where they found the "metaphor"!
You know that part where the guy looks like he's um...being born kinda? Well...we all know where he's coming out of... Shifty But I don't think it's a metaphor for that, I think the person interpreted it wrong.
EDIT: I replied to that person's comment...warharhar...(it's on page 5 now)

And the rumor of Ai having cancer is just ridiculous.

1. Benign tumours is a class of of neoplasm in itself.

2. Neoplastic manifestation is something called cancer by the general public i.e. you, which in fact may be benign or malignant, depends on the tumour's activity, margin and spread.

3. Benign tumours can predict an unforseen malignancy, or worse, progress to malignancy if left unattended, which is in fact very dangerous.

Edit: And pls, dun use any vulgar acronyms here. If things gone worse i'll reflect this to the admin.

Edit 2: Benign tumour can't be said as cancer since it's benign and not malignant. This doesn't mean that tejung was right, it's still wrong to be vulgar here my frens and family.
