Sudden changes to idol names

Hey all! I was just browsing through through some of my favourite j-pop singers (mikuni shimokawa Boogie ) until i realised most of the stuff was gone. I wikied her and found that her name was now masami okui. The same thing was with kaoru amane who used to called erika sawajiri. Is there a new law in japan that you have to change your name Shocked ?
New government? Just really curious

I don't know about the other idol, but Sawajiri Erica is still Sawajiri Erica. Kaoru Amane is the girl in the drama Taiyou no Uta and Sawajiri Erica is singing under her name because she plays the character. She didn't actually change her name.

I know actress/singer Rio Matsumoto changerd her name from Megumi Matsumoto - but that's the only other one I know of.
